Customers are saying

Customers are delighted by the Xbox One Kinect Sensor's voice control and ease of use, frequently praising its improved accuracy and fun factor. However, some users experienced issues with compatibility and game support, particularly needing an adapter for newer Xbox consoles. The sensor's size was also a point of contention for some customers.

Of course you need it for all the awesome Kinect games, but great for the voice commands and signing in to your profile. (Great for wanting to be lazy or active)

I bought this for my friend's son as a gift and he really loved it. It is fun to see kid playing with action instead sitting in a room with remotes :-)

Very simple to hook up, very easy to use. My favorite feature is using it in Battlefield 4 to request Medic, Ammo, Scan, Orders, etc. Xbox One: Malfador Lurks

One Kinect, one cord, plug it in and start talking to it. No voice calibration, alignment or other setup. Beautiful. Can't wait to hook it to my cable box.

My son has the 360 and the Kinect. I hate I had to buy another one to go with this system. The product on the other hand works just fine. No complaints!

For some things, it seems to work much better than the original Kinect, but not so much for other games. Could be a calibration issue, which will be researched.

Hooked up my new kinect to my Xbox one. Had no issues. Very user friendly in my opinion. Use for dance and exercise games and it picked up my every move.

We go streaming and have kids who just love the dance games. It does a pretty good job with the voice commands and so far nothing negative about the product.

I decided that I would get the Kinect after I got my Xbox, and I'm glad I did. Picked it up on sale and saved a few bucks. Works with no issues as intended.

It's fantastic that you can easily communicate with this device with just a few commands. Makes for playing much quicker with a simple voice command

My son LOVES this device. He doesn't have to scream to get it to do what he's trying to do. And he's hands free most often (when not in game play)

As you probably know, the Kinect has two main elements, voice commands and motion capture. We got this for the voice control. I'm kind of disappointed. For one thing, it's too in your face, popping up a prompt with suggested commands that covers the bottom 3rd of the screen when you say "XBox" to get its attention. Way too intrusive. Second, it's hard to discover what voice commands are available. I assume that's what the obtrusive popup is for, but it fails miserably. Not only do the suggestions in that window almost never apply to what I'm doing at the moment, they cover up any voice command prompts displayed by the active app. Netflix, for example, shows available voice commands at the bottom of the screen, but they are covered up by the Kinect window! Fortunately Netflix commands are pretty easy to guess, but other apps aren't so fortunate. I still have no idea if I can use my voice to change channels in Sling TV (I should look that up). All I know is I can't see the screen if I try because of that doggone "suggested voice commands" window, so if Sling itself is trying to tell me about available voice commands, I can't see them! On the plus side, the Kinect seems to understand me more consistently than the 360's Kinect does. The motion and camera seem fine, although I haven't used them much. One cool thing is that it logs me in whenever I walk into the room. The bad thing is that it stays logged into the default profile and keeps that as the active profile, so if I start a game or app it does so under the wrong account. Almost cool, but ultimately they drop the ball and make it a hassle instead of a benefit. So the bottom line is that it gets in the way more than it helps, annoys more than it pleases. So much potential, but it's unrealized potential.

Voice Control works great. only issue is sometimes not recognizing user. It does try to pick up everyone in the room, even if just an extra arm in range.

I bought this product to control my entire entertainment system and it does it quite well. Voice commands are just a bonus extra for me.
