As as huge supporter of the XBOX360 for many years, like many of you, I was really looking forward to the new console. I won't get into the dregs of my original impressions towards the XBONE when it was announced, but let's just say I wasn't excited. Now that I've waited nearly a year to pick one up, I'm mostly happy with the new experience. Personally, I prefer the competitor's offering for my gaming preference and have zero use for all of the TV/Cable integration (I'm a cable cutter) and the (thankfully non-mandatory) Kinect. I just want to play games and occasionally use streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Instant Video. Multiplayer has been solid on Destiny, Madden, Titanfall, Forza Horizon 2... no complaints there. Also, regarding visual fidelity, I'm not one to care about 1080p vs 900p vs 840p... It looks good, and we are still in the early stages of development. Game makers will get better and better as years go by. A perfect example... check out any PS3/XBOX360 launch game and compare it to something like The Last of Us. Make sense? The controller is pretty good, but I prefer the original XBOX360 controllers. The triggers are a little too "squishy" for my taste. But that comes down to personal preference. My biggest complaint is the menu interface. The tile system looks pretty nice and Windowsy, but it's not intuitive and is really quirky. Even navigating the store is a little wacky. Not the worst, but it really could be cleaner. I miss the XBOX360 way of things. Hit the XBOX button and VOILA! Everything you need is there in the pop-up menu. Now everything is an app. And don't get me started on pinning. I don't have a Kinect, and without voice commands it's a pain to get things unpinned if you did it accidentally. Installation of games was also a surprise. It took nearly 45 minutes to install two of the games. I'm hoping these things will be addressed in the incoming updates (which according to many gaming sources, it's imminent). And one last thing... this console is HUGE. Luckily, not a big deal with my entertainment center, but you need quite a bit of space around this thing! Be sure to measure the space this will be going in if you're considering buying one. For those with massive friends lists for online play and the Microsoft ecosystem, stick with the XBONE. I can't speak for the cable integration, so I'm just going with "gaming". For those who want a cleaner interface, quick switching, good party system, shorter installation and load times (especially with the ability to upgrade the hard drive yourself) and a solid controller, maybe consider checking out the other guys... Now that I have both consoles, I can honestly say I prefer Sony's offering.

Ok so I now own both the ps4 and the Xbox one and after putting much time into both Ill break down what I like on each in a very general way from a gamers standpoint. Best Home screen PS4: it's easier to navigate both in game and out much easier to find the important stuff like friends, games, Netflix etc. no random tile format like the Xbox that you have to dig through to find stuff. Speed: TIE: About the same but I've noticed more bugs in the Xbox game quick start (diablo and destiny especially). These could be fixed later though. Games: Xbox: just barely does the Xbox pull ahead on this due mostly to the fact Sony doesnt have too many exclusive big name titles aside from infamous and kill zone (actually the only reason I bought the PS4 first was for infamous). With final fantasy and kingdom heart available on both consoles now play station took a hit. Graphics: PS4: Arguably... I say arguably because spec wise its suppose to be better but on my tv I can't really tell to much of a difference and only on a couple games (watchdogs and destiny appeared slightly better). Controller feel: Xbox: OMG... This is really the reason I play my Xbox 90% more then the ps4. It's so comfortable and fits my hands perfectly. The ps4 literally hurts my hands and wrists after an hour or so of playing. Now my hands are on the smaller side but I usually wear M size gloves for reference. Hope my opinion helps you decide if your stuck between the two. Personally I like the Xbox one more mostly just because of the controller. If the ps4 was compatible with the Xbox controller I would use the ps4 more that's how much I dislike the ps4 controller.

When I first got this it had an annoying rattle which forced a replacement. Apparently that is an issue with some Xbox Ones without Kinect. An update that came out this month was meant to fix it, but mine was gone before it came out. If you're looking for a gaming console that can multitask for you then this is ideal. Using the snap feature let's you look up help for games while you're playing. You could do the same thing with a computer, but I find this easier. Picture quality is great. It took some time adjusting my TV to the right settings for the console, but now it looks as good as advertised. What I don't like about the system is the menu, and hard drive size. Most of the settings and profile options are buried under multiple layers of the menu. As a 360 owner, I'm sure this will be changed. The 360 had many changes to the menu and this is still early on. For the Hard drive, I only have two games installed and it shows 20% full. Usable space on the console is around 360GB - 390GB. The games on this console take up much more space than before and the limited storage you get won't last long depending on which games you buy. The support of external HDD's this time makes it easier, and cheaper, than trying to swap the HDD's of the 360 though. Overall, the Xbox One is an improvement, but it's still early in the cycle with some changes needed.

The system looks great and plays great. We chose the Xbox One over the PlayStation 4, for both the exclusives, and the non-game functionality. Splitting the screen to run a game and an app side-by-side felt more innovative than what the PlayStation 4 offered. Microsoft, has also been providing significant updates to the Xbox One operating system, and have been implementing user suggestions. We've had it since September and in November, I've already seen some significant improvements with both customization and functionality. Xbox may not be winning the next generation war, in terms of sales at this point, but they seem a lot more open to catering to the consumer, and striving to provide the best system possible. It may not quite the same graphical fidelity as the PlayStation 4 (not always outputting to 1080p with some games), but I think there is more to the system to offer than just games. If you have a smart phone or tablet, you can use the SmartGlass app (as well as via Xbox.com) to see friends activity, view information about your accounts (like Achievements), view saved video clips, and purchase games and other content. Pretty handy! I chose the Xbox One without the Kinect, but if I could go back, I probably would have purchased it with the Kinect.

When the "Next Gen" systems came out, I decided to go with a PS4 and wait or the Xbox One to drop in price....Not because I didn't think the system was inferior but because I've always seemed to play Sony's machine more than I do Microsofts. I must admit, I've always liked PS controllers over Xbox controllers as well. I finally broke down and got the Xbox One about a month ago and it has met and gone over my expectations. Yes, the system is very big, heavy and bulky, but aside from that, it has performed great....Just like my PS4. In terms of games (for the moment) the Xbox One exclusives are better than the PS4's (IMHO). The one thing I felt was improved greatly is the controller. The feel and overall weight of it is great. The joysticks are also better than the ones on the Dualshock 4.....Which is saying a lot because that controller is GREAT as well. All in all, I am happy with this purchase. I'm glad I waited (lower price, kick butt offers from Best Buy at the time of purchase). I would highly recommend the system to any games looking for a great console.

I purchased the Xbox One when they had the buy any X1 console, get any game free and a free 2 yr. membership to Gamers Club Unlocked. (Score!) So I picked up the X1 Madden edition w/Ryse Son of Rome. The UI itself is very fast, sleek, intuitive and everything is pretty straight forward. Has a plentiful selection of games so there's something for everyone. The only issue I have with this console...is the install/update system. It took HOURS to install (and presumably update?) Ryse Son of Rome. Same thing for Dead Rising 3 (when I purchased it separately); took nearly ALL day from morning to night to install/update. What happens is that it stopped installing at around 47%. Had to delete it and start over, only for it to happen again. Internet connection is perfect (I also own a PS4 and install/downloads takes a few minutes tops) so it has to be with the way the console installs data. Overall - very impressed with it. Good graphics, audio, controller feels comfortable and am looking forward to some of the exclusive titles Microsoft has to offer!

    Next-Gen Console Still Not Perfect

I decided to purchase a Xbox One rather than a PS4 strictly because of the tremendous value. Thanks for a recent BB promotion, I was able to get a console, extra controller, 12 months of Xbox Live, two games, and 2-years of the My Gamer's Club for the price of just the console and a game. It was an incredible value and I'm happy with my purchase thus far. That being said, the Xbox One does have its kinks that still need to be worked out, even a year out from release. The dashboard is still clunky with too many tabs and the fact that EVERY function of the console is relegated to an app is kind of burdensome if you don't know to download all these apps immediately upon purchase of the system. Also, every game has to be installed to the console before it can be played, so no longer can you rush home and play your favorite game within minutes. Now, it takes about 20-30 mins. for the download to get to the point where you can play. It's something you just have to adjust to.

I have been looking for a game console for a year and saving money for the purchase. I had decided a while back that the choice would be between Xbox and PlayStation. Honestly I love everything about the PS4 and I am sure if you bought it just for playing games you will be more than satisfied. I on the other hand need my devices to multi task. The Xbox serves me well. From what I have been able to experience so far is that is more than capable in the gaming department. What I have found to be fantastic is it's ability to connect and control my television. It goes one step farther and lets me watch TV while I play games. I know that sound weird but I love it. I can watch a football game and play at the same time. Just that feature has sold me. Without going into further detail lets just say There are many apps that can be downloaded that also add tremendous value. If you are like me and want to do more than just play games you won't go wrong with the Xbox one.

I went to the Bel Air, MD Best Buy and traded in my Xbox 360 and bought a new Xbox One Madden bundle. The trade process was excellent, there was no line and everything was taken care of to the extent that it needed to be. The purpose of my trade in was to get a new Xbox One with Madden and went to the shelf it was empty....NO!!!!!! But luckily I went to the front check out counter and the young lady helped me by getting one from the back which I gladly purchased! Really the only negative about the experience was more to do with Xbox Live and that was how long it took Madden to download from the Marketplace (5 hours). But the experience at Best Buy was excellent, and always is at the Bel Air location. The graphics on Xbox One are insanely realistic and the gameplay is excellent! If you haven't upgraded yet, do so...you will not regret it!

I've had the Xbox One for about a month now. While the graphics on the game are amazing, what really hampers this machine is the reliability it needs to be connected to the internet. When you buy a new "toy" for yourself, you just want to unpack it, plug it in, and play it. With the Xbox One, you have to unpack it, plug it in, and download an update that seemingly takes forever. Another feature that keeps it from getting 5 stars is the fact that you have to download the game to the hard drive in order to play it. No more putting in the disc and playing right away. While some may find it better to download the game to the hard drive, I do not. Just let me play the game off of the disc. I think with the Xbox One, Microsoft definitely didn't hit a homerun. There are a lot of improvements to be made and hopefully with some updates, this machine can go from good to great.

    Xbox One Madden Bundle

The reason I am giving this two stars is that the madden bundle I purchased was faulty. I had found others having issues with the bundle, but decided to take a gamble and purchase said bundle. After buying the bundle, it made a faint noise that was noticeable (I overlooked that). After a 700mb update to the system, and then a huge update for Destiny (took over 2 hours for both updates), I played Destiny for about 20 minutes. The next day, Destiny got stuck at a loading screen for 25 minutes. I reseated cables, powered down/up only to face the same scenario again. I took the bundle back and was told by an employee that other's had issues with the bundle. Long story made short, I got a regular xbox one and am happy with it. If you are wanting an xbox one, stay clear of this bundle (it's known to have issues).

The Xbox One was something I really wanted to get to start making videos on YouTube. I decided to get the Madden 15 bundle because it came with Madden 15 and the Xbox One. The Xbox One itself is a great console! It's really quiet and fast. I didn't know you had to install every game to play, but I found that it's better that way because it takes less power and runs smoother mad much more quieter. Madden 15 is also a great game. Lots of fun new features. The Xbox One Madden 15 Bundle comes with one Xbox one Black wireless controller and a Microphone to use when playing with friends. The microphone isn't the best out there but it gets the job done. I think it also came with some packs for Ultimate Team on Madden 15 and 2 weeks of Xbox Live Gold. Overall awesome product. 5 stars!

Ive had every system that came out in the last 10 years. When I saw what Microsoft was doing with the Xbox one, I wasnt interested what so ever. I was going to get a ps4 instead, but ended up getting a xbox because of the buy a system get a free game Microsoft was running. I also got it because best buy was running a promo about buying a console and get gamers club unlocked for 2 years free. After having the system I couldnt be happier. Being able to use multiple apps at the same time is great. I was really suprised at how quick it was to switch from netflix to a game, and then go back to netflix and have it start playing right where it left off. Great system, that being said im still going to buy a ps4 for the exclusives.

Although I am very happy with my Xbox one I have to say I wasn't prepared for having to install each disc which takes up a couple gigs of memory, it also seems like every time I want to play there is an update for either the system or the game or for apps and while I understand that it's a good thing I really miss the feeling of playing games when I was a kid and could just turn it on and play. I don't want to dissuade anyone from buying the xbox one but try and do some research before you buy it. On a good note I do like the Internet Explorer, I love snap, I really love the home button and how I can turn the console off come back a week later and leave right where I left off mid game.

I own both an Xbox One and a PS4. I have found the PS4 to be more reliable than the Xbox One. The Xbox One has frozen up a few times requiring me to unplug the unit to get it to reboot. After starting a game it sometimes jumps back to the Xbox One dashboard without warning. I don't care for the dashboard, but that may be a matter of preference. Xbox One does have some decent exclusives such as Forza 5 and the upcoming Sunset Overdrive and Halo Master Chief Collection. The Madden bundle is nice as you're essentially getting $60 off the price of the console. If you're looking to upgrade to a "next gen" console, it's a fair choice depending on the games that interest you.

I had an XBOX 360 and I was content with it until I saw this bundle. The last few years for Madden have been a huge disappointment for me. What pushed me to buy this is that there was such a high community rating for Madden and since it came with the system for free (digital download), what did I have to lose? I bought it and within a couple days, played 3 games of Madden online with a friend. What a refreshing game! It is finally fun again. The online play is immaculate and it doesn't even feel like you're playing online. I sold my XBOX 360 to fund this purchase and as the summary says, there's NO BETTER TIME THAN NOW to ditch the 360 and get rolling with this system.

had to replace cuz were having problems with xbox live. Now the 2nd issue seems to be with HDMI connections some time it will not recognize that cable box is attached to it . Kinect voice not at all great full of bugs same thing gesture control will work fine in the game but when try to use it on the home screen will not work. but voice control once in a blue moon it work that about. TV integration is something that needs to be improved. I would like to use a keyboard ( like the one they have for Logitech Revue - google tv) which has all the keys for your DVR, Menu, Volume and recording and so on so far not luck in finding any keyboard with all those features.

It felt like Christmas on the release day of this bundle. I pre-ordered it and was looking forward to it for 2 weeks. I was not disappointed at all with neither the Xbox One or Madden 15. I couldn't believe the awesomeness of the Xbox One. I am so happy I went ahead and upgraded. Then on top of that Madden 15 was the best Madden game I have ever played. The graphics are excellent and the new moves are realistic. All of that together, I felt like I was going to explode. Definitely a great day. The only down side was that they didn't offer the Madden bundle with the kinect. It's not like they couldn't afford it. Come on.

The Xbox One is a major improvement from the Xbox 360. I traded in my old Xbox 360 and got a discount on this one. The process was very simple: go to the customer service desk, they inspect the xbox to see if everything is included (controller/cables) and then they give you a gift card. They didn't even check if it turned on. The setup process for the Xbox One was very simple, with informative on screen instructions. Madden took a VERY long time to download, at about 4-5 hours. However, the wait was worth it! I love madden so this bundle is perfect!

As an adult I can appreciate an all in one game console. The Xbox one ties together all my home theater equipment and tries it's best to integrate everything. It's by no means perfect but I do find it useful to watch programming when I'm not playing games. The games are outstanding when compared to the xbox 360 as you should expect. I suggest you get the play and charge kit and plug your controllers directly into the console to keep them charged. I only wish that the included game, in this case Madden 15 was an actual disc instead of a download code. That way, I can trade in the game when I tire of it.
