    Less than desirable.

As a PC gamer, I was ultimately severely disappointed with the overall experience that Xbox offered. It's a massive step down in every respect. My wife and I wanted to try something different as we've been PC gamers for the past 8 years or so. We tried both Xbox and PS4, the experience was pretty much the same... Bad. The Xbox is extremely slow taking minutes at times to load games. To compare, FFXV would take approximately 1:11 to load on Xbox, while it took about 13 seconds to load on our high end custom gaming PC. There were several instances where we would lose wifi connection and would be forced to restart the console just to make it reconnect. Not sure what the issue was, but doing this took seven minutes for Xbox to return to the dashboard. Speaking of which, the dashboard was far too cluttered with literally nothing but advertisements for other games, and just cluttered overall. Too many button presses to get to one game, too many button presses to start actually playing a game. You have to confirm the controller you're using, Xbox has to sync to the cloud Everytime you play a game, the list goes on. The time from turning on Xbox to being in a game and ready to play was upwards of three minutes. In comparison, it's about 30 seconds on a PC, even less depending on the game. We also had three instances in the first week where the console would freeze and become unresponsive. I've never had a custom PC freeze on me. Updates for Xbox are frequent and take a long time. Worst of all, however, is the available content (games) is just lacking. Theres a lack of exclusives, quality exclusives and really just a lack of games overall. There's no cable for the controller, which means you have to spend extra money on either batteries or rechargable options. Also, the graphical fidelity was lacking to say the least. Where they reduced graphical settings was quite obvious, and sadly there were still frame drops in nearly every game we played. I also think it's important to mention the almost required Xbox live subscription. While it's not required, one would be foolish not to have one. That said, it feels like robbery. I couldnt imagine the outrage there would be if Steam decided to start charging people $5 a month. To sum it up. Bad performance, extremely slow, lack of games, and technical problems. It's just simpley not worth buying. Even if I got one for free, I'd sell it. It's not worth anything to me, and if you played on a decent PC, you'd feel the same way. Bottom line, spend a little extra and get a nice gaming PC, you won't be disappointed.

    Best budget buy

This is the best budget Xbox console that you can buy. The Minecraft Builders Bundle contains a white slim console that was newly manufactured in Oct or Nov 2018, can't remember which one but it's new and oh so quiet, virtually silent, and there is no annoying external power brick and it comes with a power cable, HDMI cable, 4 codes for the Minecraft bundle and a code for a 1 month game pass trial and 14 days of Xbox Live Gold. This bundle contains an updated white controller that uses 2 AA batteries or micro USB (I have my controller powered by my phone charger lol), has a textured grip, a headphone port for chat or for just listening to audio, which is convenient for late night gaming, movies or music, just lower your TV to silent and use some headphones, a longer connection range and the controller can be used via Bluetooth with Windows 10. This is a great bundle to have if you are on a budget and want a quality console to game on. The new update allows you to use 1440p at 60Hz for gaming and you will get the best gameplay if you have the right size monitor that can use both. This console also allows the use of 4K, HDR10, Dolby Vision and a setting to allow video apps to play 3D if you have a 3D-TV. There is so much more to list about the console but I'm done staring at my phone when my console is waiting for me. I finally have an Xbox One again. No more loud, ear ringing Xbox 360!

I had a 360 for years before it finally died. My family still wanted to play their games so for Christmas we got an Xbox One. The design is very attractive and became a center piece on our entertainment center. Functionally, the interface works but it still confusing. Specifically, how to "stop" a game or app requires several navigation steps. Games I've played have worked well, but I find the controller a bit too sensitive for my tastes. I got the Minecraft edition and it does come with a number of bonus material in the form of coupons. I am somewhat disappointed that the controller doesn't come with rechargeable battery options. Too this point, the major issue I have with Xbox is the pay to do anything model. The console isn't cheap and yet almost every option involves an additional cost. I like this version, but I wish there was more emphasis on included value.

it was an ok system, unfortunately i was lead to believe that i could play my xbox 360 games on the xbox 1s only to find out when i set up the system, only select games are backwards compatible with the xbox 1s and none of the 360 games i have are backwards compatible. unlike the 360, i wasnt able to create simple profiles on the 1s, any profiles that i wanted to create was required to be an xbox live profile. i did buy and download a game but the game could only be played on the profile that the game was bought on. so i took the 1s back and got my money back. so other then wasting $50 on a game that is impossible to return, i got my money back. so i will just stick with my 360 until such time that its worth my time to get another system.

My review I Can’t give 5 stars Due ms had years make this more ps4 like As ease of used. This system ms care more A cute tiny media drives ms could of added 15mm 2.5 have the hard drive could be bigger & A disk drive in that size but faster would be quicker to install games. This system so Online focus like ms not known usa has Slowest internet ever You need cable internet look for bargains example above 25 meg or fiber Net Isp but Affordable prices as Google fiber and many others. Note Many Good and hype games have huge updates and file sizes. Getting system Cheaper I will forget that stuff Glad Have 1 Tb Hdd and 4k bluray Player. See I got cheap games for it it’s okay after I got used to it, I still Perfer ps4 and XBOX 360 systems.

Bought it in 2018 Black Friday sales! The ease of use is very easy to install, just make sure you have the appropriate TV to play games and movies. So far, had no problems with it, played some XBOX ONE, XBOX360 games and watch some 4K movies with no issues, but time will tell! I know i might have wrote this review a little early, but i have fate that this console will last longer than the previous version of it! Recommend to a friend! Cons: 1TB storage isn't exactly what i expected, it's supposedly or actual capacity that you can use to store games is 780GBs of free space! If you want more storage, you can get an external hard drive!

      Hey Kyle,

Thank you for recommending Xbox One S! We're glad that you've had a good experience playing games and watching 4K movies. And good call on suggesting that an external hard drive if you need more space for installed games. This was a replacement for the Xbox One my son has had for 4 years. I thought about an X but be for him, but he doesn't need that right now. This Xbox S was very late in shipping. I ordered it on Black Friday and didn't get it until nearly 2 weeks later. I think someone must've stolen the first order. But I called BEST BUY and they sent me another one. Anyway, my some loves the S and he says the graphics are a bit brighter, games load a bit quicker. I personally haven't noticed much of a difference.,.I think he was just excited because it was Christmas. Haha

I had not been on a Xbox system in over 10 years, so I was a little skeptical. However, it is much better than I had imagined! The Xbox Ones can play a lot of Xbox 360 games, the PS4 is not there yet. There are games that are just on Xbox which is fun!! The only 'beef' I have with it is that you much 'install' the games on the system before you can play, and then you still have to have the disc to play the games...PS3 was not that way, I wonder if the PS4 is. That seems strange to me from where I came from with having a PS3 for many years; but that is my only complaint so far.

      Hey there,

We're glad that you're enjoying your new Xbox One S. Because of the size of games these days, installing games on your system's hard drive is standard on the current generation of consoles. The good news is that installation allows for faster load times and better gameplay. If you don't like the requirement that a game disc be inserted to play, we recommend purchasing games digitally. Since digital games are linked to your Xbox Live account, they can follow you from system to system and don't require a disc.

      Hope that helps,

Let me start by saying that ive never owned an xbox. I had originally bought a playstation pro. I wanted a device that would do 4k and gaming. I returned the playstation once i realized it only streamed in 4k. Ive now had the xbox for a week and i'm hooked. The free 3 month's of game pass that's included is awesome, i don't think i could go without it. Streams beautifully, plays discs beautifully, im highly satisfied! I was worried that the device would be noisy like my old ps3, but i can't hear it even standing next to it. I don't think I'll ever go back to playstation.

This is probably the best time to buy an XBox One S because of all of the great deals that are on this console. The online gaming experience as well as the exclusives on this are definitely worth it (I am a racing car fan so Forza was a great deciding factor for me). The package comes with a lot of stuff in including trial membership for online gaming and Minecraft which my kids love, so its a good way to start out for the entire family. The only advice I would give is to buya second controller with this console on day one to get the most out of family game time.

I own the Xbox one Kinetic and that one thank God still works. I decided to buy the new Xbox One S because I wanted it for my new 55” Vizio P-series tv. I didn’t get the X because for me as a girl is too much. I do play games but I watch more dvd movies in 4K. I like the fact that is not too big, it is very quiet, not noisy. Doesn’t take too much space. I love the image quality on the games and the fact that has more space to save games etc. I am very happy with my purchase.

Terrific deal on an Xbox One S during Black Friday. Came to deciding if I wanted the One S, or for a cpl hundred more the One X. Honesty, unless you're a hardcore gamer, with a top of the line Super UHD TV, you won't notice the difference. The picture quality and resolution on my regular 4k tv, with the Xbox One S, is brilliant. Save yourself that $200+, and get more games and accessories.

I purchased game system for my 7 year old son for Christmas 2018, but it was difficult to set up with parental controls. There should be separate directions included to make this a make easy process or a cheat sheet. I spent several hours and wasted time entering codes that didn’t work because my son was to young for certain games. I needed to up the age on the parental control so he could use games that came with the system. Once I got through the initial set up I was happy with the system.

My last Xbox one died after 3 months but was under warranty but all they had at the store were sports game packages and fortnight combos. Hating both those genres it opted for a store gift card and ordered this combo online. It has worked well so far but it’s always best to have a good warranty with Xbox consoles, I have owned 5 in the last 8 years cause they rarely last more than 2 years but me and my sons take turns playing so they are on almost 20 hours a day everyday.

I bought this XBOX One to give to my girlfriend so we can play some Gears of War, Left 4 Dead 2, Fortnite, and other co-op games. It's a great system that has the added benefit of being a 4k UHD player. Great library of games to choose from. While definitely not as powerful as it's older sibling, the One X, it's still a great console. 1TB of space tends to fill up quickly, especially with game updates and DLC, but luckily I had a few spare external hard drives for extra space.

I bought the Xbox One for what some would consider unusual reasons. Primarily I wanted a 4K Blu-ray player for my new 4K TV, but I also wanted to play through the Xbox classics I loved growing up such as the Halo and Gears of War series. It has not disappointed, it's been great. I also recommend using HDMI passthrough for your cable box. Watching TV, playing games, and watching movies all within the Xbox ecosystem is awesome.

XBOX is ok but imo, while PCs do cost more, they are far more capable machines. Playing a game with a mouse and keyboard is just easier and more accurate than with XBOX controllers. I originally purchased an XBOX so the kids could play games together in the living room with split screen on the TV. Now XBOX makes very few games that can even do that. So I returned it. If XBOX were to make more games for multiple local players, I'd might consider one again.

We're sorry to hear that your new Xbox One S didn't quite live up to expectations. Minecraft, the game included in this bundle, supports local multiplayer, as do other popular Xbox games such as Rocket League and LEGO DC Super-Villains. In addition, Xbox One is backwards compatible with hundreds of Xbox 360 and original Xbox games. For a full list of Xbox One games, go here: https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/xbox-one?cat=all

We got the Xbox bundle here at the best price we’ve seen yet. There are so many games that we can find something for everyone to play, even my 2yo daughter loves to help with the Frozen game. I found that a lot of the stuff requires the internet and a subscription to one of the services to really get the most bang for your buck. Luckily, they’re not terribly expensive and they come with the bonus of getting access to a lot of other games.
