My headphones plug right into the 3mm headphone jack with no converter needed. This is actually the second one I have bought. We are a family of gamers and sometimes the remotes get thrown across the room this one actually holds up pretty well for the abuse it gets.

New controller (not the Elite or original) control
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.To be clear, I'm not reviewing the original Xbox One controller, but the "updated" controller with the 3.5mm port. If you already have an Xbox One controller, or aren't looking for a spare, and you don't need the 3.5mm port, then you don't need this controller. For me, the 3.5mm port is a must at this point, as the little expansion box piece you install into the Xbox One's port for audio on older headsets, for me, just simply works very, very poorly. In fact, it worked so poorly, and so irregularly, I ended up buying the Xbox One headset just to get away with not needing that little box expansion thing at all.
