They are very baddy straight out of the box, but can tweaked to your liking with relative ease. Ive trie the big boy cans, and with the tweaks above, you'll be amazed how close these come. You absolutely can't beat them for the price and performance!

The bass is not overpowering and the controls for volume and sound mixing are easy to use. I have not tried using the mic so can’t really grade that feature but it feels very well made and can hold a charge for awhile.

Sound quality is ok, it’s a little bass heavy even with the bass turned all the way down. The mix and volume wheel on the ear cups have a lot of adjustment, but small adjustments make a big difference so you don’t use most of the adjustment range. I’ve had the expensive Turtle beach head sets which sounded better but required something connected to the console (but also provided a charging cradle). For the cost which is silkier to wired head sets this is the one to get.
