I'm a fan of the Lord of the Rings books and movies and this game does it great justice. The gameplay mechanics are very similar to Batman Arkham Asylum, which was an awesome game, and the story follows much of the background stories between the main story line. The game is easy to pick up and put down without needing a lot of reminders of how to play or way you were at when you last quit. That being said there is not much too the game, the story is just mildly intriguing and the gameplay is really repetitive.

Unfair to compare length to Elder Scroll Series, but after a while the tasks and side quests are too repetitive. Overall campaign is too short.

This is an awesome game! Plenty of things to do so it's also a good time killer. It can get repetitive sometimes but interchange between different missions to keep the game fun and exciting.

OK, so it may have a lot of elements of Assassins Creed but overall I like it. But I have one major complaint. When you die from a Captain, that Captain moves up in power. There happens to be one Captain that is stalking my player, seemingly appears out of nowhere and is now so powerful that I have no hope of killing him. Makes me mad. May have to start all over again and that won't happen. Far too many video games and not enough time.

not as good as expexted was a little repetitive but not bad for half price

Got this game as a gift and was on sale for $25 at the time. Its a fun game with good game play but does seem a bit repetitive as the game goes on. I would recommend this game for ppl who like to change it up once in a while with a good single player game to play for a while till your ready for more online gaming

The game is pretty fun but it can get repetitive. It has a lot of upgrades if you are interested in that.

After the initial play, it became boring. It hasn't been touched since it was mastered.

Initially I enjoyed, but several things combined caused me to terminate play before finishing and trading-in for credit. I could never figure out how to perform the special finishing moves / combos. I would follow the onscreen guide (e.g. push A + B etc) and 99% of the time, nothing different happened. Accordingly, it was essentially impossible to win the key battles and continue on into the main game story path. As a result, I essentially continued to ramble around slaying various captains etc all of which became quite repetitive. In the end, I stopped at the point where you're suppose to kill the Black Captain (just couldn't get the hang of what ever it was I was supposed to be doing), and just returned the game for Trade-in credit.

This a great game that extends the story of middle earth. It feels like a stand alone story that can hold you over till the final Hobbit movie is out in theaters. Plays like assassians creed but it can get somewhat repetitive killing off captains and if you die you loose a decent amount of progress in "advancing your character". Still a fun game to play with a lot of freedom.

Cool new basis for a video game,but its gets boring. Sort of like assasin's creed without the cool storyline or history

Game looks good, but has too much to "CLUTTER" as far as gameplay is concerned. The game suffers from trying to do to much in one game. I felt myself being confused while playing game on what button combinations to do what during certain times during the game. The game also suffers from being to "open" in my opinion and after 5 hours found myself bored of the game because of its repetitiveness.

The gameplay is fine but repetitive. The story tries to be good but often falls short.

I'll just run down pros and cons: PROS: --Got the game for $19.99 --Great graphics --Tried-and-true gameplay (almost too much like Assassin's Creed from a controls standpoint# --Cool combos and abilities --Makes each kill satisfying --Nemesis system is really cool and keeps you coming back after a couple deaths by the same enemy Cons: --Short #21 hours in, I'm bored and done# --Open world has nothing to explore and find #no looting# --REPETITIVE #your objective is only ever to kill orc leaders - that's it) --Storyline is interesting but feels disconnected from your "missions" - hard to feel like I'm solving any mysteries of my past by just killing and killing --Final boss is not really a battle at all

Good game. Definitely will keep you busy for a little while. The only con would be that it is somewhat repetitive, but take a few days off and you will get the craving for more.
