Greatly enjoying this game and the Nemisys system is better than before. The loot boxes are totally unnecessary and can be ignored.

I've become addicted to loot boxes, just like how I became addicted to gambling.

If you played the last one, you will like this one. Only problem is the loot crates are bull.

Good game, still early in it but I can understand the negative views on the menus, loot crates, etc. It's a lot of content to get used to and feels like you're stopping the story to go in there and review it all.

This game is great. Ignore the haters, just don't buy the loot boxes. An expanded sequel to a GOTY.

Great sequel to a great game. Improves on the nemesis system and has a decent story. Though it keeps going after the ending and without buying loot boxes can be difficult to get through. But you still get a complete game before that point.

Better than the sum of its parts

Aside from the combat and variety of animations, nothing about this game is amazing. However, every part (sound, writing, voice acting and story) are at least good, with a few components (combat, control is and the army system) coming in at very good. The package as a whole though, rises above the sum of its parts because no aspect of the game under delivers to hold it back. The micro transaction loot boxes are a waste and completely useless, but also completely able to be ignored without impeding your progress.

Everything you liked about the first one is in this one. Only bad thing is the loot boxes just a cash grab. Yes you can get free items but theyre so in your face about the loot boxes. .

It's the same Mordor gameplay, with some RPG additions. There's lots of loot and abilities and the nemesis system is fleshed out even more. My issue was that it wasn't fresh enough to keep me hooked, so I ended my experience a little early. So it goes.

The game is pretty much like the previous game so its like an Assassins Creed in the Lord of the Rings Universe. There has been a lot of controversy with the decision to have loot boxes in a single player game and those items you receive arent permanent. You dont need to open a single loot box to beat the game 100% but the fact that they are there will make people give in. If you are able to ignore the micro transactions this game is solid

This is a great game and it had me completely hooked. I have completed the shadow of modor and was aching to kill some orcs and this game didn't disappoint me at all. The bad advertisement of using loot box was the downfall of this game and the developers completely removed the loot boxes now but there will be some long grind by end of the game. Having said that the amount of content this game offers for the price point of 7.5 usd it's a no brainer. Get the gold or deluxe edition if you got some more money to spend and based on its availability as it's sold for $15 a copy with added 20+ hours of contents.

I loved the first Shadow of Mordor game so I bought this one without really looking into it. I probably should have waited and bought it on sale. It's a good game but I find it kind of confusing to navigate and move to different quests. Also the loot boxes are total BS and I refuse to buy them. Game can become a major grind.

I really enjoyed Shadow of Mordor and was one of my favorite games in 2014. I was really looking forward to the sequel. I have a few gripes with the character design choices and the story, it leaves a lot to be desired if you are a big LOTR fan, but the game play and world building is great. I hear near the end the game becomes a huge grind and the loot boxes become a pain. I have not hit that point yet.

If you love the first game then you will love this one. Not only does it take the game but build on to it with a better system and more RPG elements. This game is huge and long so that will start to take a toll on you over the course of time. If you are like me and have ADHD you will get bored over the course of time just doing the same thing over and over. Loot crates. Unfortunately, I did not really have really issue with the loot crate system but have been told that in the later part of the game it that loot crate's speed things up.

A Good Game But Has Defects

There's a lot going for this game and the first two acts are pretty good. Unfortunately, the final half of the game is an enormous, tedious grind to collect more and more Orcs and level them all up. There are loot box micro transactions and the developers assured everyone before release that the game had been balanced/designed around NOT using them but having played the game, I can now confirm they lied. That horrendous, boring grind at the end of the game is clearly there to strong-arm people into buying those loot boxes. There's also a multiplayer mode but it is basically unplayable unless you're sinking lots of money into those boxes because your Orcs can permanently die in that mode so without the loot boxes, you'll need to do hours of grinding in single player between multiplayer matches to replenish your Orcs. First few hours were great but I got the game yesterday & I'll probably be selling it back come the weekend because I'll be done with it by then. Knowing what I know now, I would have given this one a miss.
