Customers are saying

Customers value the engaging gameplay, compelling story, and innovative Nemesis System in Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Many also appreciate the game's substantial content and the option of a lower price point for an older title. While some found aspects repetitive, concerns were raised regarding the inclusion of in-game purchases. The action, difficulty progression, and open-world environment were also frequently praised.

It's a good game overall, it does improve quite a bit of things from the original but the loot boxes kinda ruin the thing. Worth a play if you enjoyed the first one.

Good game, still early in it but I can understand the negative views on the menus, loot crates, etc. It's a lot of content to get used to and feels like you're stopping the story to go in there and review it all.

if you liked Shadow of Mordor, you'll like this, it's a bigger, better version of that game. One issue that people have brought up is that the game has microtransactions, but it's not required to deal with them.

Let's take a trip back to Mordor to take on Sauron and his army! Strategize, Dominate Orcs and Uruks to build an army of your own for the war! Great game... Can't praise it enough!

The game mechanics are awesome and different than others but do have some similarities. The fighting is more like Batman but with swords and stabbing weapons. Overall a great game.

Following up on the original this is a great game. Some glitches make it a little hard to recommend over some other games this year but you’ll no doubt have a good time with it.

Shadow of war is a good sequel to the first game. The upgraded nemesis system shines. It can be a bit of a grind leveling up especially in the final act of the game. Overall it's worth the time and effort.

If you didn't enjoy Shadow of Mordor, there's not much considerably different about this sequel. It does, however, improve upon an already good game in just about every way (besides the microtransactions).

I thought this game was a great follow-up to Shadow of Mordor. Shadow of War is a lot more diverse and while the story is 100% fiction, it was still a thrilling ride to be on.

I have enjoyed this game from day one. The only hang up I have is too long or to many videos when fighting a war chief or org leaders. Other then that it has great game play

This game greatly expands on the foundation of the first game. Being developed solely for next-gen consoles certainly helps in the graphics/frame rate area. Recommended to anyone who enjoyed the first.

Assassins creed with an army at your back

You return to Middle-Earth in this sequel to Shadow of Mordor with the added bonus of eventually having and army with you. This takes a while though as you don’t gain the ability to start your army until the beginning of the second act. The game plays much like the first; a clunky, more vicious version of Assassins Creed. Combat can be a pain as you are swarmed by a dozen or more enemies, some of whom can easily counter you, while trying to fight one specific enemy. I often found myself trying to get around an enemy only for my character to try and vault over who can knock me right back into the fray. Part of this is the controls, part the camera; I probably would have made the run-around if the camera had shown more precisely where I was (I was often blocked by enemies or walls). Graphics and sound wise, the game looks and sounds great; LotR fans will love the game, others would prefer the precision of AC. The Nemesis system is a fun concept; I wouldn’t have minded some of my player deaths if another random captain (the orc characters you convert to your cause) if one or more didnt randomly show up as I was getting pummeled by my current target and then interfering; then again, they are backstabbing orcs.

Your character has more freedom and ability to play the way you like and don’t worry about micro transactions because this game can be played 100% without them and still enjoy the same experience

I didn't realize how much I would like this game even with the microtransactions. The cut scenes and the different monologues each orc has kept me laughing for hours.

There's great fun to be had assembling armies full of orcs to reclaims fortresses from the witch king. Light on the story, but the gameplay more than makes up for it!

Overall it was a lot of fun to go around killing orcs. The gameplay has improved and the new systems work really well. It can get a little repetitive at times but all in all is a great game.

I am enjoying the game. Pretty much the same setup as the last game with the added ability to make in game purchases. Unlike the EA debacle, this doesn't really seem to damper the gameplay.
