Customers are saying

Customers value the engaging gameplay, compelling story, and innovative Nemesis System in Middle-earth: Shadow of War. Many also appreciate the game's substantial content and the option of a lower price point for an older title. While some found aspects repetitive, concerns were raised regarding the inclusion of in-game purchases. The action, difficulty progression, and open-world environment were also frequently praised.

    Improvement from Shadow of Mordor

I’ve enjoyed playing Shadow of War just as much as Shadow of Mordor. With SOW they definitely improved the graphics (4K), leveling system, and voice acting. However there are some moments where it feels like a an assassins creed type grind (run here, assasinate him/her, meet an informat). I’m pretty sure everyone knows that WB just lifted the fighting system from the Batman:Arkham series and also lifted Assasins Creed gameplay/type (assasinations, stealth, follower building). Most people don’t mind because they enjoy the LOTR lore which is understandable as it’s pretty good. All in all I rated it a 4 as the running around the map can get annoying as the fast travel spots are far and few. However, as long as you don’t try and sit and grind out the game then you will hardly notice it (it’s not like you’re playing Assassins Creed 3 or anything)

Another Mordor game with more of the same and a few new surprises. A harder difficulty, drake riding and some new mechanics make it worth the purchase. Tons of dlc to extend the gameplay if u really dig it.

Shadow of War is the follow up to the unexpected hit Shadow of Mordor. Everything from the first game has been expanded in every way. This game is a blast and if you're looking to go to war. Get this game.

I didn’t play the first one but I can say this one is amazing. Looks great on the PS4 Pro and the game itself is so fun. Fighting mechanics are easy to learn and there is so much to do. It gets a bit repetitive but a blast nonetheless.

Very strong game in terms action and depth. Really enjoyed the ability to build armies to take down forts inside Mordor. Really good step in a true open world Middle Earth game that we need (with co-op please!) Thanks!

The gameplay and story are on par/better than the original. There is definitely more grindy aspects to the game, but the mechanics and skill trees are also more complex in a satisfying way

I was a big fan of Shadow of Mordor and this one has not disappointed. I like the addition of gems to add stats to your weapons and gear but I wished they'd have kept the runes as well. The gems are cool and all but abilities are pretty standard (+% vitality, XP, damage, etc.). Another cool aspect is the marketplace where you can use Mirian to purchase loot chests and make upgrades to your fortress. I've put in maybe 6-8 hours into the game and am currently at level 14. I've read that you should be at least level 60 before you reach the last part of the game. Needless to say, it's going to be awhile but the game so far has been very entertaining!

Overall great game. Needs a couple fixes. Excellent gameplay and terrific story Items get stuck in walls or drop down. Pit fighting needs to be more controlled. Great series. Look forward to the next.

They took the great nemesis system and made it better. Beautiful game. The story leaves a lot to be desired, but there is plenty to do in the game to make up for this detriment.

This is the sequel to shadow of mordor and takes place right after the events of the first game. Game is beautiful combat is fun and will take 40-50hrs to complete 100%. Be carful there are micro transactions included in this game but you do NOT need to purchase any with real money to beat the game.

If you like open world games, this is a lot of fun. The difficulty is constantly challenging but never overbearing and its very satisfying to like through enemies as Talion

Shadow of War is a sequel to the 2014 GOTY Shadow of Mordor. Bigger, vaster, dynamic world, enriched by even better visuals. The Nemesis System comes back in full force and it's a great treat.

This game is very similar to the first, just much bigger in scope and better in my opinion. The combat is addictive and so is the Nemesis system. I highly recommend it!

This game is awesome. I can’t even get into the main story because I keep doing side missions and playing with the nemesis system. Although you can become OP pretty early in the game
