    Pleasantly Surprised

I have had this washer for about two months now. I wrote my thoughts and feelings on the washer from the time I received 'til now to make sure I give it a fair and honest review. Considering Best Buy, for whatever reason, doesn't carry this item but it comes from the marketplace I figured that it would be very important to have all the details. Especially considering I was hesitating over it being a marketplace item. Best Buy doesn't even deliver to my address with the portable washers it does have. This finally pushed me over the edge. First off, pricing wise it is right around the cost of other brands and washers from other sites. Which I thought was great AND shipping was free which was even better. Combine that with Ebates and it was a no-brainer to get it from Best Buy. Unfortunately because this is a Marketplace item you don't get the Rewards Points for it like you would other items as a My Best buy program member. This was unfortunate but Ebates made up for it because I ended up getting $8 or so back anyway but I digress. The package arrived a little earlier than I expected, which was nice. The packaging was a bit strange at first but then I realized that they had put a thick piece of Styrofoam on the bottom and wrapped the sides in Styrofoam and then wrapped cardboard around that. The box was heavier than I expected because while the dryer is only about 20 lbs or so the packaging easily was twice that. Luckily there were straps around the box that made dragging it into my 2nd story apartment easy. Getting the washer out of the packaging was a bit annoying. Though I recommend strongly that you do this first just to save yourself a headache later. Lesson learned on my part though. Take out the instructions, hoses and cords. Read the instructions carefully and then try to find a faucet that works. In my case the hoses didn't attach to any of my faucets that I initially wanted to put them with. Even with the little two sided adapter that is included with the package. Fortunately, I have a washer hook up in my apartment so that worked out well. Next secure in the pipes. When the instructions say don't force them on they mean it. You have to be gentle with them. I messed up initially and water went everywhere. I recommend hooking up the pipes taking like a small bucket or bowl. Put the open end in the bowl and slowly turn on the water. This way you can see if the hose is leaking before you place the washer and know it is securely connected on that end. Placing this washer is a bit of a hassle because there are handles but they are far down on the washer and it doesn't have wheels on the front. When you get it where you want it make sure you adjust the feet. I didn't and the first load of laundry I did the washer shook and made all types of noise. Two quick adjustments later it was quiet with only a slight rumbling that I can hardly hear when I close the door. Once I had everything hooked up I realized that this washer is set up to use powder detergent only. Now I have read that you can use liquid detergent with them but I haven't and don't think I'll risk it for a while. The drain hose is pretty self explanatory however I would like to note one little detail here. If you don't use the washing machine that often you may want to take the hose down and drain it manually. If only because sometimes a small bit of water may be trapped and it can smell after a while. If you use the washer weekly though you should fine. Also make sure to empty the lint tray inside the washer. I don't remember seeing anything about it in the manual but it does collect lint after a few weeks of use. All the program settings are useful and easy to understand with the digital display. Heavy is the most common but it has a Quick setting, Normal, Anti-Wrinkle, Jeans and Air Dry. For the record Air Dry really works and usually hanging the clothes up afterwards has them dry completely within an hour or two. Capacity wise I was a bit worried. This washer is larger than I expected. A queen sized comforter went in well. King may be a bit too big. A queen sized sheet set and pillowcases fit right in. After the initial frustrating hook up problems I am happy that I can give this a five star rating as an actual product. Not having to walk a mile to do laundry is great. It basically saves me three hours of time weekly at least. I don't have sound issues with it and the washer is intact. I estimate that in time and money this washer will pay for itself within the year. Hopefully this helps someone make the decision on if this would work for them or not.

    Bigger then I expected

I live in an apartment so I've been looking for something small. This is actually bigger then I expected. So I don't know where I'm going to put it lol. It's as big as a full size dishwasher. So you'll need space for it. I'm posting this info for anyone looking into buying this, since I could not find any info on this washer when I was shopping around for apartment size washers, and needed it. Also this Midea washer is the same exact washer as the Magic Chef brand at Walmart. I'll give you examples of what you can fit in each load. I put 10 (large, x-large) t-shirts in one load. I also did a load of towels and put 4 big heavy towels in there. Another load I did a queen sheet, and 6 pillow cases. I also did one twin comforter. If you over load your washer with clothes it doesn't spin all the water out, so when the machine is done, you'll have to put it back on a spin cycle to get the rest of the water out of your clothes. It is very heavy. I really like it, just wish it was a little smaller so I could put it in a closet when not in use. When hooking up the hoses to the sink make sure the washers are lined up perfectly before screwing them on, or it will leak out the sides. If it leaks just take it off, and try re-screwing it back on. Might take a few tries. Its a little tricky. Hope this information helps.

First of all, the installation is not included for this washer. Before buying this washer. I asked about the installation by calling the service phone number. In the beginning, they told me that the installation is included and I should contact local store to arrange an installation. So, I just purchased it on website and then went to local store asking about installation. At that time, the local store told me that there is no installation included. That's fine, I just installed it by myself. When I opened the box, there is minor damage at the exterior of washer. I though it didn't matter and then plugged -in the power, chose highest water level and then run a normal cycle. After five minutes, there was a crashed sound from the washer. When I looked inside, something supporting the drum crashed and the drum tilted to one side. It 's terrible because the drum was still running. I immediately disconnected the power, found two guys to bring it outside the apartment (there was full of water), tried to drain all water out and then packed it for return. What a joke of this washer. I ever used it to wash the clothes.

Had the option to rent this item from my leasing office for 50.00/mo and decided by buying one it would pay for itself in under a year. i am active duty and can fit my entire uniform plus plenty of other items in one load. I have done my whole bed linens, multiple pairs of jeans etc with no issue. I don't like that the soap dispenser is not designed for liquid but i dump my liquid soap into the drum and let the water mix it up before I add my laundry. This product is very quiet and does a great job. I do not have to go to the laundry mat and it's relatively space efficient. Good purchase.

I wrote a review right after I had received this, based on how quickly it was received. Well, I was finally able to put it through it's paces today and I'll tell ya, this thing ROCKS! Fairly quiet, quite efficient and I managed to get NINE pairs of jeans/denim shorts in it and they came out sparkling clean! Wholeheartedly suggest using channel locks to get the faucet attachments on the first time, though. Normal running time is about 42 minutes, which is only about 4 or 5 minutes longer than my full-sized. I am impressed. You will be, too!

I purchased this machine not knowing what to expect , but to my surprise It turned out to be a truminduse item . I also purchased a Y mixer hose for the water supply to replace the two supply hoses so I don't have to keep going back and forth with the hot and cold to my sink faucet . Switching hoses for the hot or cold can be a hassle. So buy a Y mixer hose if you plan to use your sink faucet !!! .
