Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Legally You are restricted on the channels can use (1-14 without a FCC license and restricted to 1/2 watt) as for GMRS (Channels 15 + ) Freq's you need a FCC License to legally operate on, Under normal conditions you are not going to get anywhere near the 36 Miles as claim.
