I have no tall buildings, just a normal everyday housing neighborhood. When I got within range to where there was no static or break up the walkie talkies gave a bunch of feedback acting as if I was in the same room communicating with someone.

However, these are NOT GMRS radios. This means that they DO NOT have the most powerful transmitters in the Midland X-Talker product line. These ARE FRS ONLY. I bought them expressly because I wanted the most powerful non-commercial radios that Midland sells. The range for the FRS radios IS NOT as far as a GMRS radio. Consider yourself warned.

If they would have called me I could have picked it up that day. I don't look at my emails all day long and they close at 8:00 pm. Email was sent mid afternoon and I was at Comcast at that time about half a mile away paying a bill.
