Michael Shannon is one of the most under rated actors of our time. The rest of the cast is superlative. The plot, action, and suspense is well paced without being predictable. The story drives home the love between the father and son characters and what the dad will do to at all costs to protect his son.

I was intrigued by this film from when I first heard about it. Best Buy had it at a great price on B.F. and I am glad I picked it up. It is a very good science fiction film. Recommended.

The plot in this film is very similar to several other science fiction films where a supernaturully gifted child is being persuid by people that seem to wish to cause him harm. I bought this dvd based upon the description on the case which sounded intriguing, and thought it would be a compelling adventure with some depth of character. It turned out it was a run of the mill science fiction movie that was entertaining but nothing special. I would recommend it only for fans of the genre, but there are many similar films that are much better.

This film barely makes ok for me. I know what it was trying to do but just did not accomplish it for me. It was trying to bring back the syfy movies of the 80's but films like fire starter with Drew Barrymore and star man with Jeff bridges opened your mind to wonder but a film like that now is much harder to pass off with so many syfy possibilities out there it bordered on boring except for the connections between father and son.

This is a smart, emotional and beautiful sci-fi movie. The characters are engaging and interesting. The acting is phenomenal. The story will suck you in and hold your attention throughout. I highly recommend this movie. I'd even recommend it to someone that's not quite a sci-fi fan.

This movie was a complete and utter surprise! It was such a sweet and touching journey. At it's heart, it's a simple tale of a man trying to protect his son. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone!

One of the better films this year. Did not waste my time or money going to see Superman vs Batman. Midnight Special along with The Witch & 10 Cloverfield Lane proves that you don't need to spend 100's of millions of dollars to make a movie. This movie is unique & original.

Michael Shannon and Adam Driver aka Kylo Ren do a SUPERB job. A different type of sci fi. What's a father to do?...everything he can for his son, special son!

Midnight Special's intriguing mysteries may not resolve themselves to every viewer's liking, but the journey is ambitious, entertaining, and terrifically acted.

The midnight special turned out to be a pretty good movie with a funny twist at the end but yet I liked it I think most people would enjoy watching this movie

This movie is mysterious and captivating. It'll hold you from start to end and leave you with a sense of wonder that you can only get by watching it. Jeff Nichols does a great job directing and, like his other movies, you will be entertained.

Well acted, good dialog, interesting investigation into the challenges of a sense of ourselves in a world where we are just a tiny speck in a great universe.

Great film in the spirit of Spielberg. Some may find the lack of definitive resolution frustrating but the journey is better than the destination.

In a world where new and creative stories are overshadowed by blockbuster franchises this movie is a breath of fresh air. Fantastic cast that does amazing! The story gives you hope and is very original. Loved this movie and recommend to all.

I loved this movie. Michel Shannon gave one of his best performances. The movie is just dazzling. And it looks beautiful on film. The story is just awesome and it's a original. If you love movie's you will not want to miss this one.

Man oh man is this movie good!!! Takes you back to the good ol days of scifi flicks of the 1970s and 1980s. So much heart within this little film. It is a wonderful feeling watching such a beautiful movie like this one. You will love it!

An amazing cast paired with an extremely atmospheric tone/sound that gives a salute to some of the best sci-fi films from the 80s/90s.

Although not tons of backstory until you get deeper into the movie, it was overall an interesting concept and movie. Very decent acting.

If you like a story that is not telegraphed to you in the first 20 minutes of the film. Then this is for you. Great drama and heart.
