Miele could not have designed a worse stacking kit. Compared to other manufacturers kits, which install very simply, usually with two hooks in the back and a front fender piece after the dryer is in place, this kit requires removing the entire top of the washer and drilling holes through it. If its stainless steel you can screw directly into these holes, but if its plastic then you have to insert threaded bushings. If you ever decide not to stack the units you now have irreparable damage to the washer top. Installing the dryer on top is also a big headache. One must slide the dryer over the front edge of the kit without damaging the plastic dryer bottom or crushing the flimsy metal kit. If you have plenty of room to lift from the sides or rear, it is not too difficult but if you have a tight closet or cabinet installation, it is close to impossible. Miele reinvented the wheel on this one except its square.
