Mighty No. 9 was supposed to be the spiritual successor to the legendary Mega Man series of games. Even w/the most notable of Mega Man developers at the helm, Keji Inafune, this game sadly falls short. It's full of some good ideas, but disappoints gameplay wise, graphically, and in just general fun. The game has its moments, but when you're expecting so much more even a incredibly average game really feels like a let down. Hopefully Inafune gets a chance to do a tribute to the Blue Bomber right the next time.

I thought I would ignore the reviews and purchase this game to see if it was that bad and it is. The graphic are sub par, some of the levels are unnecessarily hard to navigate even by Mega Man standards. I played a couple of times and put it down. Basically this game is not enjoyable at all. I would spend my money on the Mega Man collection or something else. I would not buy this game again even if it was on sale for 5 dollars.

to me this game is fun. although it is not as great as the mega man series, its still fun. a lot of people don't like it cause they probably had high expectations for the game since it was delayed quite a bit. but for what its worth I recommend picking it up. the gameplay mechanics are a lot like the mega man series but enough to differ itself from what the mega man games were.

The game isn't terrible. It's just a disappointment because on what it could have been. While some of the tools available to you should create a fast-paced game the level design and jumping mechanics are not optimal for a fast Megaman X-esque experience. Boss battles are fun, some powers are very useful (but most are useless) and there are unique challenges but at it's core the game just doesn't provide a lot of joy.

I've had fun with Mighty No. 9. Sure, it doesn't live up to the Mega Man legacy but, on it's own, it's a pretty decent game. If it didn't have the stigma of Mega Man behind it, it would have been received much more positively... although it probably wouldn't have even existed without that stigma. A game cursed before it even had a chance. But you should give it a chance anyway.

A great concept from an esteemed developer is ruined because of poor level design and a lack of direction. The game tries too hard to be difficult and in doing so, becomes broken. No wall jumping leads to meaningless deaths and the main system for defeating enemies is just pointless. This could have been an amazing successor to Mega Man. But it's definitely not.

I bought this game because it reminded me Mega Man, which I loved to play during the NES days. It was a great reminder in both fun and difficulty. I am not sure what all of the bad reviews, and complaints abotu load times are about, maybe because I bought it on Xbox One instead of the other platforms. Nonetheless the controls and game play are great.

I had very high expectations before this game was released and was very sad to hear all of the developmental delays, issues, etc. I only recently purchased this game on sale for $6 because I had to know first hand what it was like. For $6 it's honestly not THAT bad. But do not go into the game expecting a flood of nostalgia to hit.

I've been playing the game and it is not as bad as everyone says, if You are a classic gamer then You'll love it ... If You are one of those who are expecting a 20 hrs campaign then it is not for You... The game is tough just like the old days and it has a lot in common with mega man.

I'm a really big fan of the megaman series and this game is simple, fresh, challenging and entertaining, just like the original megaman. People celebritize developers and media creates a great deal of bandwagon. Mighty No.9 is a great game and I hope it's a fresh boot to a new series.

I love the Mega Man games, especially the "Zero" games. I was hoping for much more form the creator of Mega Man, in this spiritual successor, and while this game has some excellent challenge, it lacks the soul of the originals. I do appreciate the option for 8-bit music though!

This game was hyped up for so long that it was bound to not be as good as everyone had hoped. As a huge Mega Man fan, I was hoping that this game would be a spiritual successor to what made me love those games. While the game isn't terrible, it does miss the mark.

Most of the people say this game is not worth it, but I like it. I am tried of the racing and shooting games and this is just a relax. Also we have poster inside while most other games even don't include a manual. For just 8 bucks, what are you expecting?

This game is in the same vein as classic 2D sidescrollers, mainly Mega Man. It's not a terrible game and doesn't play exactly like Mega Man, but it's a decent take on a difficult retro classic. Fun to pick up and play in short bursts.

Creators of this game had what seemed like a great idea and throwback for fans of the Mega Man series, but dropped the ball in many ways. The voice acting is terrible, and the player versatility has an exponential learning curve.

I haven't played it very much because it's not my favorite game style. However, it does as advertised and is a nice throwback to the old Mega Man and Mario Bros days in a higher resolution package. Worth the <$10 I paid for it.

I just wanted to balance the scales some. The first review on here was by a guy who did not realize this game was made by the creators of Megaman.

Having grown up with side scrolling games, I was excited to get a fresh take on an old method. The game plays well, but some of the sound effects get a little redundant. You can skip the movie clips in-between thankfully.

The blue boomer will always be a classic for gamers everywhere. This had the feeling of the old school game but not the difficulty nor the building block weapon system. If you can get this game for cheap it's okay.

My family and I really loved this game as it took me back to my youth simular to one of my favorite games (Mega Man) and to know it was made by the same creator made it that much sweeter to play and enjoy.
