It’s not one of the most popular games. I thought my son would like it but he never played it much at all.

This isn't a perfect game. It's a light role player with very limited options and the ability to control the actions of only a single character. Your party only walks in a straight line, with only occasional paths for you to pick. Weapons and equipment are not so much purchased as upgraded, as you have to buy each version to unlock the next, and the upgrades don't make any sense. The 3-D is present, but very weak. So, why the five stars? It's all about the Miis. Creating an avatar of yourself and choosing three companions, who could be anyone you can imagine. You can go with people you know, characters from popular culture, celebrities, historical figures, or people you invent yourself. The list is limitless. Not in the creating mood? There's always Mii Central, an online database where people post their own Miis for you to use at your pleasure. It also supplies the Miis which populate the towns and other minor characters (which you can change, should any prove not to your liking). Once you've chosen your team and cast the major roles (including the main bad guy), your set out on an adventure unlike any other. Where else can you watch your sister fall in love with Albert Einstein, see Han Solo and Doctor Who get jealous of each other, or the sight of Jesus Christ prancing around in a cat suit? If you weren't a fan of Tomodachi Life, you probably won't get much out of this, but for people like me who thoroughly enjoyed Tomodachi, this is the long-awaited (and probably only) follow up. Not sure if it's for you? Download and play through the demo. It's impressively long, and if, when you reach the end, you're itching for more, then this is for you.

The game is very charming! I love playing my streetpass games, but the downsize is how limited they were. With Miitopia, it felt like a streetpass game but with a more RPG element and less limitation with the whole streetpass with other gamers to get people to play with. Also the option to choose who are the characters in your game(party and npcs) is nice touch, like if you have Tomodachi Life, you can choose from.
