For the True Indie Film ConnoisseurPosted
The Hollywood Reporter said, "If Woody Allen and Albert Brooks had a baby, this film would be it." And were they ever right! If you are a true fan of micro-budget indie filmmaking, in the vain of The Duplass Brothers, Joe Swanberg, John Cassavetes, and also a fan of French New Wave cinema, then Miles to Go is for you! Especially if you enjoy watching the neurotic witticism of a funny writer, lead actor, director, much like the previously mentioned filmmakers. This is a passionate, nuanced and solid character study of a writer in Los Angeles struggling to get out of his own way and there are a whole lot of interesting characters to flesh it all out. Miles to Go was unnerving at times and even difficult to watch because of the truth it reflects on the state of relationships in today's world. I highly recommend this film for anyone who truly enjoys cinema and isn't in a rush to solve everything.
