I purchased this for my niece to play as I know she likes Minecraft. She had never played this version. Once she got over the frustration of getting out the treehouse she was good to go. She's 10. It's funny game and even funnier when u find out how your decisions effects your game play. Easy to follow game but I thought it was short. Seeing there were more chapters to be played, I was dumbfounded that she was unable to play without paying extra. The packaging says SEASON PASS DISC. One assumes that a season pass grants u full access to all features of the game. So now I'm perplexed as to why we have to pay. I will research a little more thus why I'm giving this 4 stars. On the back of game case it says "THIS SEASON PASS DISC INCL EPISODES 1 OF MINECRAFT:STORY MODE ON THE DISC PLUS ENTITLEMENT TO DOWNLOAD EPISODES 2-5 AS THEY BECOME AVAILABLE". Very confusing.

I had been holding off on buying Minecraft Story Mode for my daughter's tablet for a few months, and am so glad I did bc when I found out it was available for Xbox 360, I had to buy it. By purchasing the 360 version, you are prepaying for all of the Chapters that have not yet been released, versus the tablet app version, where you pay per chapter as they are released. For the Xbox version, you can download them at no extra cost (since we prepaid, remember?) as the chapters become available. The game play is as simple and fun as regular Minecraft, however, the story line and characters make it a totally different experience. You have quests and mini-games to complete, and it's guaranteed to keep you busy. My daughter is 7 and has loved Minecraft for a while, so when she got Story Mode, she was so excited and has really enjoyed playing it.

Patton Oswald!, Oops, spoiler alert. Sorry. The game is pretty fun to play with my six yr old who just started to get into gaming ("the transformation is almost complete" in my best Darth Vader voice). It does have a lot of interaction that also leads to a lot of reading, which can be a bit much for him since there are timers on the conversations, so he usually arbitrarily chooses the red button, which happens to be the snarky remark most of the time (so his character is kind of a jerk lol). Overall, he enjoys it so not too much to complain about. It would have been nice to have a bit more choice on character creation though. Anyway, as it drops in price, it can be a nice add-on to your game libraries.

    Foul language galore

I am very disappointed in this game. My son was elated to have this under the tree. In full disclosure the rating is E10+ my son is 8 so I guess I failed. That being said I wouldn't want a 10 year old subjected to the language in this game. The game sounds more like GTA than a kids game. I wont put the words i heard in this review but my assessment is TV-MA; south park type language, that may be okay for some but not for me and my child. Not only that, but the game seems ultra boring and laggy, not much game play just a lot of foul mouthed talking. Shame on the makers of this game marketing this to kids, at least I got it on sale so I didn't lose as much money as I could have.

My daughter asked for this for Christmas and I know she LOVED it on her phone, so I was excited to find it and make her day. However the disappointment hit after beginning to play it. Not only is there a huge lag period bug this isn't age appropriate at all!!!! She's 10 and they used a lot of inappropriate language. We packaged it up and returned it. So pleased that Best Buy didn't even bat an eye when I explained why it needed to be returned, since usually once they are opened they can only be returned for the same item!

I bought the Minecraft Story Mode Season Pass for my 8 yr old son for Christmas. He already had Episode 1 on the computer but I bought this for the Xbox 360. The Season Pass has a lot of issues with the downloads. I know it's not our Xbox because we just bought a brand new one. Currently, Episode 4 shows 'purchased' but when you go to 'download' it prompts you to BUY it AGAIN. It is a known error by TellTale but it's been a week and we still can't open it. Just buy the Episodes individually and save yourself the hassle.

My son likes games but doesn't like to read so much. So for his birthday My wife and I got him Minecraft Story Mode. We thought that it would be a great way for him to start reading without forcing him to sit down with a book; baby steps. He has taken to the game rather well an we have seen a slight improvement in his reading ability. The game also is teaching him about quick decision making. It is a very fun and adventurous game and I am glad that we made the decision to get it for him.

My son has been asking me about this game for a while, so I finally bought it for him as a reward for making high honor roll. He was so happy to receive the game that he immediately started to play. I love that this product includes access to all 5 episodes of the game for one price. He's already made it through the first episode, and I'm sure the others are just as fun! This is a must have for all Minecraft fans!

My kids like it but some of the talking is off and lagging and they think it's annoying when it happens, they still have fun playing it. If your kid can't read yet I wouldn't recommend getting this because it's a lot of reading and answering questions unlike regular mine raft where you can just build I haven't seen any building in this just conversation.... More like and animal crossing I guess.. But I think animal crossing is better.

I am not sure if it is the game itself or the Xbox Live account, but even though this game comes with all the level "Purchased", you cannot access them all and are asked to pay $4.99 per level again. The message says that if you have already paid for this level to not purchase it again, as you will be charged again. However, it does not give instructions as to how to download it without purchasing it again.

This is not like the other Minecraft where four kids can all dive into the game and have their friends join online. Only one person can play at a time, so my girls quickly lost interest in it, or I just got tired of listening to them fight about who's turn it is. Either way, avoid it unless you have an only child. Then just buy him/her Assassin's Creed so they can learn real gaming.

My grandsons always played Minecraft that I downloaded on my tablet and they always looked forward to coming over to play the game, so, when I saw that there was a new game out I decided to buy it for a Christmas gift for the boys. It's used as an incentive at their home to earn time playing the game. The kids love the game and so do their parents; it was a great purchase.

My grandson had begged me for Minecraft Story Mode for weeks. I bought it for him for Christmas and he left it at our house. After just a very few hours of playing it, he said he was through with it and couldn't use it any more. Mind you, he is only seven but pretty savvy about electronic games. Said he had done everything there was to do on it.

If your kids are anything like mine, and love just playing Minecraft for hours, this is an awesome diversion. Its a story game where you choose the characters path on the way. Meaning, there are thousands of outcomes that could result from the story, and it will provide many hours of fun! It's like watching a minecraft movie that keeps changing!

Like many minecraft obsessed kiddies, my 5th grader opened this with excitement. He thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment value of this game. Although not real time action, the story itself was fun to watch for him and allowed for him to really get into the scenes. He loved that he had control of making things happen based on his choices.

Eh, my husband treated our obsessed 6 y/o to this and she says she likes the app version better. She never wants to play it anymore but my wish is that this would have a version for kids. I don't like it myself and the violence is off putting since it was plastered all over the toy section it's a bit violent.

I bought for my kids as they wanted to play a story related to the world of Minecraft. I haven't heard any complaints, but it is somewhat deceiving to find out that the game came with a season pass code, but I have to purchase the last two episodes separately. Apparently, they were not available when we installed the game.

The disc includes episodes 1 through 5 (2-5 being free to download with this disc), however episodes 1-4 is one story arc and episodes 5 - 8 (6-8 not being on disc) is another story arc. I enjoyed all 5 episodes, however episode 5 feels out of place due to it starting a new story arc.
