    It is real simple, you plug it into your surface and then you connect it to a monitor. It works perfectly and there is no settings to change.

    I use my surface pro 4 for doing PPT presentations each week at church and they have a projector with only a VGA input. I had to have this device to make it work since the surface pro doesn't have a VGA connector.

    I purchased this adapter to use with my Surface Pro 4 when making presentations at locations where I cannot use the wireless hdmi adapter (which I love). Simple plug & play. No issues thus far. My only criticism is the cord could be just a little longer so the vga block could sit on the table next to the tablet - reducing the pull on the Mini Display-Port plug when the Surface is upright. That's just a minor gripe. The on-sale BestBuy price was better than anywhere else I had seen too.
