The Doobie Brothers "Minute By Minute" is so loaded with Classic Rock goodness, every song is a standout winner to me. Released in 1978, this album continues to impress and entertain me each passing year. This is Rock & Roll that picks you up, a true feel good album! Yes, the hits are fabulous and never grow stale: "What A Fool Believes", "Minute By Minute" and "Dependin' On You". What is so outstanding about this album is the continuous flow of great songs, "Don't Stop To Watch The Wheels" is actually my favorite track, it Rocks so well! "Steamer Lane Breakdown" is an outstanding instrumental that is ignited by a blend of bluegrass, country and good old fashioned Rock. This song jams, the picking is absolutely entertaining on this tune. The lead vocals of Patrick Simmons are stuff of legend, alongside the lead vocals and vocal harmonies of another Rock legend - Michael McDonald. Wow, to have two lead vocalists like this in one band, that is down right amazing! This is an all time great Rock album that has a permanent place in my music collection. Overall, "Minute By Minute" is not too heavy, not too mellow, it is just right! The liner notes are 8 pages of complete lyrics and credits.
