i bought the nanosat 5.1 system plus 2 extra nanosat speakers for 7.1 surround sound 2 years ago. im using a onkyo tx-sr706 reciever to power them. recently i bought the nanosat prestige center channel speaker because at very loud volumes i noticed a little distortion from the regular nanosat speaker that i was using for my center channel (when the neighbors are not home :) ) while i was listening to music. that is the only negative thing i can say about them. they are perfect for someone who lives in an apartment, wants high end sound, and doesnt want to spend thousands of dollars. pro's: 1. best thing - sound: the omnipolar design sounds more true to life due to not having the effect you get from directional speakers where there is only that one sweet spot where the speakers sound optimum and if you sit anywhere else they don't sound like they are supposed to. the sound from the nanosat's fill the room well. the sub has plenty of bass, so much so that i have to turn the bass level on the back of the sub below half so i dont bother the neighbors. 2. design: small size makes them unobtrusive in my already small living room, they look cool, and they are made of metal, not plastic or cheap particle board so they don't break when my dog knocks them over which happens pretty much every day. the metal mesh covering on top dents a little but its flexible so it bends back to shape. con's: 1. slight distortion at very high volume levels if you are using a nanosat for your center channel: i was rocking out to music while vacuuming. normal to loud volume levels have no distortion. could have just turned it down a little, but i just bought a dedicated center channel speaker from mirage, the nanosat prestige center channel speaker, which is awesome. i can only imagine a whole prestige system. 2. wires: i hate routing wire, especially in an odd shaped room with doorways and hallways at every corner. cant wait for the day when everything is wireless. to the guy who keeps blowing them up, im pretty sure its not the speakers, i got eight of them, daily use for 2 years, and no probs. your bass crossover setting is probably wrong on your receiver and is sending to much juice to the small nanosats. mirage recommends 120hz.

i have no clue what the guy above with the one star review was doing with these to blow them up but im sure it was not the intended use. i have been running 5 sats with an omni 8 sub in my bed room for when me and the old lady watch movies in there and it is awsome. im powering with a denon 2308ci and have had no problems with it at all. even when i listen to music through it they are very clear and impresive for a system with no mids. it would be a little hollow to use for music alone but holds its own when given the task. please do not make your judgement alone on the knukle head with 1 star review. do some more searching online, nothing but rave reviews!!!

I saw the one star review and had to write something. I think the guy who wrote that review must have equipment he is driving to hard (into clipping) or some other problem it is not the speakers!! Mirage customer support is extremely responsive, I've called and emailed them. You can't go wrong with these they will give you a true taste of high end without huge expense!!

Bought them as a system. Loved them until the center channel blew. Replaced the center with a Polk and was happy again. Tonight I blew the right front and have to believe it's the speakers. Maybe bad luck, but probably an issue with the speaker.

I've been waiting for a year now for you to stock these speakers individually....still waiting. Otherwise, they are a great speaker.
