Customers are saying

Customers praise the Micro Pro Projector M125 for its compact size, solid build quality, and surprisingly bright image, even noting its portability and long battery life. However, some users point out that the resolution is low, resulting in a less sharp image, especially with text, and that it lacks keystone correction. The projector's brightness is appreciated, particularly in darker environments. Overall, it's considered a convenient and portable option for casual viewing.

The Miroir – M125 480p Micro Pro Projector is a surprisingly good LED Based, battery, operated portable, DLP Projector. This projector fits a few niche use-cases – travelers, traveling presenters, presenters, office use, and van lifers. The M125 is a feature-rich and well thought our projector for these cases and is supported by the device’s size and has a couple of nice surprises included. While this device is intended for use with Mobile devices, laptops, gaming consoles, and streaming devices, it can be used with any device you can adapt to an HDMI output. I have a somewhat unique perspective on projectors because over the last few years my wife and I have moved away from TVs to projectors with streaming devices as our TVs. Instead of spending $1,000 or more on a TV, we spend less than $600, get a much larger screen with excellent quality images and decent sound – enough for us anyway. Currently, we are running 3 projectors in this fashion and have a variety of devices and configurations – our primary system is a 1080p projector with a 5.1 Surround sound attached, the secondary system is a 780p system with a soundbar setup, and the 3rd one is a 1080p LED-based, battery-powered, portable projector with a TV tuner. You can watch a video review of this device at https://youtu.be/6BFjDXCvpSQ The rest of this review will occur in 3 parts – Tech Specs and features, Usage Impressions, and pros/cons: Tech Specs While the tech specs of the Miroir M125 may not impress all projector aficionados, in use, this projector has surprisingly excellent specifications for its niche and price point. Let us dive into the technical specifications. First – this is NOT a FULL HD projector – it is a 480p projector with an 854x480p native resolution, a 400:1 contrast ratio, and is rated at 100 lumens – which means it needs to be in a slightly darkened room. The projector specifications state it can project up to a 70” screen size with a throw ratio of 1.2. This means to get a 70” Screen diagonal, you will need to be about 5.1 feet away from the screen. Second, this projector is a LED lamp DLP projector with a lamp life of up to 20,000 hours – which equates to 2500 days with 8 hours of usage per day (not the typical use case for this device) assuming you made it to the full lamp life – that is nearly 7 years! The projector contains a 2-hour built-in rechargeable battery. Rounding out the specifications the devices has 2 1-watt speakers, a 3.5 mm audio out port, a DC in port (micro USB), HDMI, and a USB charging port, a tripod mount, and weighs in at 7 oz. The front of the unit has the projection lens and a cooling vent, the left side of the unit contains the manual focus wheel, the right side has the power and volume controls, the rear of the unit has all of the input and output ports. The bottom of the unit has the ¼” Tripod mounting hole. Usage Impressions I have to say that being a fan of projectors, I was very skeptical about this projector and its 100-lumen rating. In use, however, I am very impressed with is capabilities. The screen is suitably bright and works well in slightly dimmed or darker lighting conditions at decent throw distances. The battery life was spot on at the two-hour rating and when reached the projector performed a nice shutdown. I also tested the unit plugged in and over a 3 – 4-hour testing session the battery did not lose any charge level on the battery indicator. For a 1W+1W system, the audio performed very nicely with only a slight bit of tinny-ness that low-powered speakers tend to have. The 3.5 mm audio output also gives you great options to connect to external speaker systems. Using the projector with my laptop and a streaming device as the primary tests, the unit performed well. During the laptop test, the downscaling from the laptop’s high-resolution setting to 480p did reveal issues with the text fonts being garbled. For presentations and video, there were no issues. A nice feature of this system is the USB port of the device uses the internal battery of the unit to power a streaming stick. The manual focus of the device works well but it does have a fine range at each throw distance. In my opinion, this device is well suited to many uses cases where one may need to project something as part of their work or personal life. Since the unit does not actually require a fully darkened room, it could be easily used in shaded outdoor settings or slightly dimmed inside locations to show presentations when and where a projector or a tv is not available for use. Another outstanding use case is for travelers – this device and a streaming stick can make for a very nice travel addition. Another use case for this device is camping (van lifers included) as the short throw distance and lighting requirements of this device match that of a camper or van being used as a camper or home. Overall, I have found this device to be a wonderful surprise and useful addition to my family of projectors. Pros: Features/Capabilities (Battery, USB charging port), Portability, Quality, Performance Cons: Battery-life could be a bit longer.

I had a chance to use the m125 projector and I have to say I was very pleasantly surprised. The projector is extremely compact and fun to use! The quality of the build feels very sturdy. I was expecting a cheap feeling device as I was not familiar with the brand. The projector feels sturdy and has a nice weight to it. It does not feel like a cheap plastic feel. The set up is very simple, pretty much plug and play, I used the hdmi connection. I then chose the duplicate display on the windows settings and the image transferred over to the projector. The quality of the video is 480p and it pretty much down converts your video signal. It does not display the sharpest image quality but it is 480p so you can't knock it for displaying good 480p quality. The speaker isn't bad, it is louder than I thought especially for such a small device. The fan is a little loud so it is highly recommended to plug it intoa powered speaker. I suggest powered speaker because otherwise it will drain the battery. The projector life is a litle over 2hrs, I average 2:15minutes. The brightness was amazing, I truly didn't expect it to be that bright, as long as the room is dark the image pops off the wall. I had an 85 inch screen projected and it was very vibrant, a little pixilated, but the colors were bright. The LED lamp does a great job! I definitely recommend it for a cheaper alternative to a projector, if all you want is a large screen for entertainment and not focused and image sharpness. A downside I experienced is a ljittery, staggered movement when the image displayed was fast moving sequences such as a ocean waves, a fight scene. It looked the processor in the projector had a difficult time keeping up. It didn't happen frequently but when it did it was distracting. Overall a cool projector to pull out on a trip when the cool factor of a large screen is more important than having HD quality video.

Verdict: This projector is very small but delivers decent performance and fantastic ease of use, all for a great price. We plan to use this for business purposes and for leisure, both at home and while traveling. First impressions. Wow it’s small!! It’s unbelievable that such a small device can be a projector. It’s very light. There are no moving pieces. Only essential buttons are included. Features. This small projector includes two integrated speakers, internal rechargeable battery power, 100 lumens bulb, and HD resolution. The projector has physical buttons for power, volume, and focus. It also has USB and HDMI connectors. It has an audio input (3.5 mm), and a micro USB connector for charging. Lastly, it also has a small treaded hole on the underside, perhaps to screw onto a tripod? Performance. In general, 100 lumens is not fantastic, but it is sufficient for many situations. Considering the size and price of this device, 100 lumens is very respectable. In a dark room, it is plenty strong to project a good image at a significant distance and to a pretty large size. See the attached picture, the screen size is much bigger than the couch, and this is from 15ft away from the wall. In medium light, the projector will have to be closer to a wall or screen to get a good image. In a bright room, this projector will not be useful unless you just need a small image projected from a short distance from a wall or screen. The internal rechargeable battery works well and provides over 2 hours of power without plugging-in, which is fantastic! The 1W speakers are not loud, but very convenient if you need some sound in a pinch. Usage. The small size of this device opens so many possibilities. We have already used this projector to watch a movie on the ceiling, just over our bed! We have also used it in a small conference room to project something on a wall. And lastly, the kids will use it outdoors to watch a movie, projecting onto a white bed sheet. Things I love. - 100 lumens is very respectable for the size and price. - Integrated speakers, nice! - Decent definition (480p) - Perfectly quiet Things I don’t love. - I wish it had a sliding lens cover. Something this small and with battery power will undoubtedly be used on the road. A lens cover would provide scratch and damage projection for the lens - A retractable kickstand would be nice to prop up the projector to the correct angle - Include a padded travel pouch. A pouch is ALWAYS worth it, even if you raise the price of the item by $5 - Is there a way to project what is on my iPad or iPhone? I am still figuring out, but that would be the ultimate portable setup Overall, this is a versatile and capable travel projector. We absolutely love it. My wife and I will use it for work, and our kids already fight over it to use it in their room when they have sleepovers. The small size, ease of use, and internal battery power means that anyone can use it anywhere. I highly recommend it.

I needed to setup an outdoor theater and I opted to go with this projector due to size and brightness. It won't get you through the day, but at night this thing really shines. 720p is very clear and being able to run on a battery is a plus. Not something for everyday use but in a jiffy this lil thing comes through in the clutch.

The Miroir M125 Projector at first doesn’t seem that impressive. It’s only 480p resolution after all, but when you actually hold and use the device its actually quite amazing and makes you wonder all the possibilities with this device. The box comes with pretty much everything you need to get started, a usb plug charger, micro-usb cable, and a full-sized HDMI cable. The M125 also has an internal battery with a meter that shows charge level from 1 to 4 blue dots. The documentation states 2 hours of usage on a full charge which is roughly the same amount of time as most movies, but you could probably run this projector all night if you used a simple battery charger pack. You can also use a USB-A connector to power a small handheld device like a phone or tablet while using it to project content. Some really cool possibilities with this projector and a phone or tablet: 1) Camping and watching a movie without needing to lug around a TV or generator. 2) Impromptu movie nights, sleep overs or sporting events in the back yard, deck, swimming pool, basement etc. 3) Office or sales presentations where you don’t have a TV or projector available. You just need a wall or white screen to project against! There are also built-in speakers that are decently loud, but you can also connect to external speakers via 3.5mm mini-plug. Also, there’s a small internal fan that spins up to keep the bulb cool. High quality build with nice metal buttons. The only minor knock on this projector is small text is interpolated and hard to read being scaled down to 480p from 1080p. Large text is fine, but any fine text is hard to read. Also, for Apple devices you will need to purchase a somewhat expensive $50 Lightning to AV HDMI adapter. Most other devices have cheaper USB or USB-C to HDMI adapters that work extremely well. It would’ve also been nice if it included a small nylon case for the projector and all accessories. I can’t wait to get one of the Apple adapters, it will be great to watch movies or YouTube anywhere with my iPhone or iPad. Great device, if they ever get to 1080p or better it’ll be even better!

Bought for my daughter to use in her room and also for our camping trips. Have not used for camping yet. Image is bright and sharp enough for its size. Don’t expect crisp 1080 picks, but better than the crt TVs we’ve had in the past! The only negative is there are no keystone adjustments so off centered set-ups will produce wedged pictures.

I love this projector, it’s so cute! It can fit in a backpack or purse which is great for those that don’t want to lug around a big projector. Great for having to bring to a friends house to watch movies . It’s so cool how small it is yet how great the quality is, the screen stretches pretty wide for its initial size and it’s super easy to connect to your phone( if you have an iPhone you have to buy the HDMI cord) I highly recommend, it's easy to transport and great for basic use

Good portable unit for the price. I use this during my travels so I can watch videos and movies. It is not high definition but the picture is pretty sharp for this little unit. The room has to be on the darker side to really see it clearly. I actually use it with my Ipad mini through an HDMI adapter and works pretty well. It does have a tripod screw on the bottom of it so you can set it up almost anywhere with a tripod. I suggest buying a longer HDMI cable since the one it comes with is really short and you have to have your laptop/Ipad/Phone or whatever you are using really close to the projector. The projector has a built in rechargeable battery but barely lasts a full movie. Power is supplied through a micro USB plug to run it or charge the battery. The built in speaker is loud enough. No bluetooth or wireless connections. Focus dial is mounted on the side so you can focus the image depending how far away you have the unit from the screen or wall. The USB port in the back is ONLY USED TO CHAREGE YOUR DEVICE like a cell phone so don't bother to put in a thumb drive. All videos or photos must go through the HDMI port. Overall I am happy with the device.

This projector obviously is a very niche product, and my expectations weren't too high, but I actually was a bit surprised a bit by this little mini projector. It's only rated at 100 lumens, but I was still a bit surprised by its brightness. It's still going to struggle with any kind of daylight, but in a dark room it's plenty. I was also able to use it inside on a cloudy day, though darker scenes were still a bit hard to see. It is only 480p, and it's plainly obvious that it's 480p. I put it in my bedroom to casually watch TV on Chromecast, and it was perfectly fine. Text is the most obvious area that suffers from the low resolution, but most of the time it was still readable. Not something you'd want to do regularly on this though. Colors are actually pretty good thanks to being a DLP. One brilliant use for this I had was to connect my SNES classic, and since the source material is already low res, the content actually looks pretty great. You don't have to worry about text or any details getting lost in the low res. Speakers were ok, not terribly loud, and a bit tinny. It has 3.5mm output jack which you'll probably want to use if audio is of any level of importance. Also on the back is a USB port for plugging other devices into... but sadly this port is borderline useless, since it has no power what-so-ever when the projector is powered on. So basically all it lets you do is use the projector as a battery when it's off. The actual battery capacity rating isn't listed anywhere, either on the box, in the documentation in the box, or on the website. Based on the weight of the projector, I'm guessing isn't not very large, but I had no issues with battery life using the projector. Very helpfully, it does have a standard tripod mount on the bottom to help with positioning of the projector. There is no other way to position this projector, so some kind of tripod (I suggest a mini tripod) is almost mandatory. However, this projector offers no settings of any kind besides volume, so changing keystone is impossible. So your image will be distorted if the projector isn't square on to the projection surface. If you need a cheap portable projector where resolution doesn't matter, this might be what you're looking for.

Fast, Cheap, and Good Come Together

Getting this projector running is fast and easy. Plug in your HDMI video source, press the power button, adjust the focus as needed and your running. The projector will run for two hours on a fully charged battery. One less connection to worry about in a meeting room, where power options are often slim. Fortunately, the only thing cheap on this projector is the price. The performance and build quality are solid. The buttons are shiny chrome which makes them easy to find in a dark lit room. The buttons also have a nice solid feel and click providing positive feedback in a dark room. The focus wheel moves smoothly and has enough drag that it will stay right where you leave it, there is zero creep. The full range of focus is just three swipes of the finger lock to lock. The cooling fan is super quiet, your ear needs to be within 18”-24” in a dead quiet room to hear it at all. The LED lamp is rated up to 20,000 hours, so maintenance is zero. The bulb has 100-lumen rating, so darker rooms provide the best picture. But the picture is still useable in a dimly lit room. The projector is so small and light, keeping this in your computer bag requires little effort. But you will need some accessories. • There is no height adjuster on this projector. You’ll find a 6” tripod handy to get above obstacles on the table and provide height/tilt adjustment to get the picture onto a high screen. • The included HDMI cable is just a foot long, a longer cable in your bag is useful. • If your presentation needs exceed the ability of those in the projector, there is a standard min-DIN output jack so you can plug in a larger speaker. • A Roku streaming stick can help entertain on the road. There is a standard USB port on the projector to provide power to one. The micro USB port is strictly for powering and charging the projector. A 5 volt 2400ma AC/USB adapter is included for this purpose. As intended, it is a great fit for the traveling business presenter. The 480p resolution is generally good enough for business presentations and the occasional movie night in the back yard or on the road. If you are looking for a home theatre movie projector, then you need to look for a HD or 4K projector and this is not that.

Opening the box, the projector itself gives a good first impression. The diminutive body is a mix of metal and plastic with an overall solid feel. The power and volume buttons and focus wheel also feel good to the touch. Underneath the body you’ll find a receiver for mounting the projector to a tripod, which is a nice touch. On the downside, there is no kickstand, so when using the projector on a tabletop, you may find yourself using a pen or something to aim your projection. As you continue the unboxing, also included is an AC adapter, Micro-usb charging cable, and an HDMI cable. This is nice to see in an age where fewer and fewer device makers are inclined to include these basic items. Once charged, power-up is super quick and operation is very quiet with minimal fan noise. Audio output from the onboard speaker was acceptable and battery life over-performed expectations at 2.5hrs. The image is satisfactorily bright, even though the M125 isn’t Miroir’s brightest projector at only 100 lumens. Resolution is low at 480p output. For less discerning tastes, this is ok for viewing videos from a distance, but don’t expect to show any detailed spreadsheets. Device compatibility is good but will largely depend more on the connected device than the projector. I had good luck with video and sound coming from an HP Windows laptop, LG and Sony Android smartphones, a Samsung Android tablet, and a recent iPhone. My Pixel 3XL wouldn’t project, but this issue falls squarely on Google’s shoulders, not Miroir’s. So, before buying, check if your device is capable of HDMI output. All said and done, the Miroir M125 Micro Pro Projector is an ok mini projector. It does exactly what it’s advertised to do. But, to be honest, there are better options available among Miroir’s stable of projectors for the same money.
