This has to be one of the best sport's games I've ever played. The presentation is fantastic as it features show track, a stat based replay that makes you feel like you are watching a replay on MLB.com. The career mode is the best part about for me, as you travel in between the AA's, AAA's and major's. The online is only ok as there is still some lag when you play. The retro mode is nothing to brag about and the ultimate team like mode is actually decent. The player's don't look real though but the stadiums look almost exactly lie their real life counter part. Overall this is a buy now game.

MLB The Show is a tough game to rate every year as the game is so good year in and year out. How do you improve on a game without breaking what makes it so good as so many games have done in the past? I believe the best approach is the approach that they currently take. Allowing users to use the control schemes and saves from previous years so you do not "lose" what you have done or how you do it. This year, there is a ton of new in game stuff and gameplay to speak of, but I will talk about some of the more important things to me. First are the bigger things in the room as current. 4K and HDR. HDR does work, but needs to tweaking from the dev and people with different TV's are having different results. I have a samsung ks8000 and have no issues. The game looks spectacular. 4K looks phenomenal, but its a mixed bag animation wise. The game looks so good normally that I use enhanced visuals instead of 4K so I do not have animation issues. With all of the positive, there is some negative. The main issue is dynamic difficulty. I love the concept buy the execution is not perfect. The difficulty does scale as it should, but the major issue is the dynamic difficulty is tied to the actual gameplay options you select. Say you like a certain pitching scheme with certain options on. Its great the way you like it and you play, but with dynamic difficulty, it changes those options over time. One example is the game will stop offering pitch type and location which is a poor decision to remove. I am not sure how many other systems it affects, but this is one that I really dislike. Overall the game is great and worth a purchase yet again this year.

I've always loved these games and, in fact, I bought a PS4 just so I can get this game. It is worth it in anyway. Sports games like Madden and FIFA, although great, feel like they spit out the same regurgitated product over and over. This game is an improvement in MANY ways from previous years. Ultra realistic, fun, and addictive (Diamond Dynasty!). Plenty of modes to keep you amused and coming back for more, the ability to pick up real-life games and play in them yourself, new player models that look very close to the real thing, etc. etc. If you love baseball, buy it. No questions asked. Do it and thank me later. You're welcome.

MLB the show 17 is amazing! Enough can not be said! With the new features and commentary, along with player graphic upgrade, San Diego studios continues to make MLB the show the best sports game to date. The only downside is the serves didn't work at launch but that is fixed. Road to the show and all other modes have been improved. San Diego studios keeps up with updates and explains the game and improvements each and every year on what they work on. One of the best teams around to make sure you get your money's worth! This is a must buy if you are a gamer and baseball fan!

Another great baseball game EXCLUSIVELY available on the Playstation. I bought this game specifically for the old school mode like on the SNES console. It is fun, same sound effects as the past, but the appeal doesn't last too long. Great for quick games with friends. On the regular game mode, the graphics look great as ever! The new ball physics have me at the edge of my seat. Player models and running AI is also similar to the real deal!

MLB The Show 17 continues the series' fantastic tradition of consistency and refinement. Improvements to its various game modes give you more ways to play the game how you want to, and the action on the field has never been better, with smarter fielding AI, and enhanced ball physics that bring the hitting to life. Commentary is still a little too stilted for my liking, and there are other blemishes lurking throughout. But when you connect with a fastball and send the ball spiralling into a gap in center field, any issues retreat to the back of your mind. This is America's National Pastime at its best.

This is to be considered the only MLB game left and it's amazing. Graphics are improved. Controls are better. Presentation is nice. This version comes with steel book and perks. It is meant for those who want a little extra however it is not necessary to bark up the extra $$$ the stand alone game is fine.

The game never gets old...each year always waiting for that next one to be released while playing the year before till then. If there is ever a downfall to the game, it's how horrible the servers are for that first few weeks...after that time frame, the game has always been very smooth & fun to play!

This franchise keeps improving every year. You can be a novice or an expert and there is a mode for you. Retro baseball is fun and even has the kid commentating. The presentation and control have been fine tuned and make the game so enjoyable. If you love baseball and the kid, get the collector tin

The first full month of this game being out was a disaster. Servers wouldn't work correctly and everything you didn't want to happen in a game, happened, such as freezing, losing progress, and so-on. It seems that most of these issues have been resolved now and I can say I haven't had any issues in 10+ games. The game itself is beautiful and fun, but some of the camera work and transitions leave a lot to be desired. I would say previous renditions of the game were better in that regard, but it's fun and I'll continue to buy The Show every year,

Love it so far! Best version of The Show yet. Lots of upgrades from graphics and player details to ball physics. Deeper modes, great mission rewards. Highly recommend the upgrade it your a Show fan or if you're looking for the best baseball sim out!

Great game all around from visuals to game play i love it

This game is worth buying for the fun retro mode alone. It's incredibly simple and fun; any gamer could play that mode. As for everything else, there's a lot of customization and the presentation is state of the art!

I have not played the show since the 14 year and this year's show is just head and tells above that one better graphics the rtts is a lot of fun and first time trying dd has been positive

I skipped the Show 16, and they got me to bite with Ken Griffey Jr, my favorite player of all time, being on the cover. Overall the game is a great step forward from 15, with RTTS, my main area of play so far, getting some really nice changes and additions. I like the interactions with the coaches, agents and more. Faces have received a good update but created characters still look odd. My guy looked pretty good while creating him, but with his headshot used in the game and some cutscenes, he looks off. It's still a beautiful game but wish created players were looking better.

My son and I love the game and its features. The series is getting more realistic as each one is created. My son really loves the create a player mode.

I pre-ordered this game a week before it came out with the hopes that it would be great. I last played MLB The Show 13 on the PS3 and enjoyed it. This particular game is running on my PS4 Pro with a Hisense 55" 4K HDR television and it looks phenomenal. The graphics are great. The gameplay is great. The animations are a bit slow, but that's ok. The dynamic difficulty is a great feature and so is the retro mode. It's like RBI Baseball back in the day, but with current graphics. I'll give it a 5, because I love baseball, and I love playing baseball video games.

I have played MLB the show since the beginning it is one fun game if you love baseball. Is so realistic and please purchase it you won't regret it

Having only played MLB 2016 for about 4 hours total prior to playing The Show 2017, I didn't have much in terms of expectations of new features etc. The Show 17 is awesome! The intro gets any baseball fan right in the feels. The game modes will keep you playing for months, but in my opinion the best feature is the Retro Mode! I was able to sit and play a Ken Griffey Jr Presents Major League Baseball style game, with updated graphics with my wife! First time she's played a sports game. Its friendly to anyone who is new to the game!
