It's the best baseball game. I have been an avid fan of this franchise for years and every year the game gets better and more realistic.

It also has a throwback mode akin to the older baseball games, which makes it pretty great

Another great edition of The Show! This was the first year I got into Diamond Dynasty and I spent countless hours grinding for cards and playing online. Lots of great in game content that can be earned for free!

Game is very true to life, baseball simulation. Besides being able to just play a season, they have added features called Road To The Show where you make your own player and bring him up through the ranks onto a MLB team, Diamond Dynasty where you collect baseball cards to build the best team you can, and a Retro mode which is like playing baseball back in the Super Nintendo days, among other features. If you like baseball - I say get this game!

For vets of the series, the greatness continues. However if you are new, the menus are very intimidating. The gameplay and story mode are fun. I bought the game because of Griffey. the steelbook and slip cover do not dissapoint. However actually using Griffey for new people are a challenge. Unless you pre ordered from game stop, you missed out on the Griffey rookie card, and I could not figure out how to get him in Diamond Dynasty. There is also no way to do RTTS with him. You can use his likeness, but it would have been really cool if you could be him breaking into the majors. A few people on gamefaq helped me figure out how to add him to a franchise mode and retro. Also if you could have played franchise in retro mode that would have been a bonus. They missed out also releasing a vita version for crossplay on the go

In my world, The Kid never gets injured and goes on to hit 900+ career home runs. MLB The Show does it again with another year and another rendition of their already fabulous offering of baseball. All the typical expectations are back along with noticeable improvements all around in graphics, stadium details, equipment and accurate player animations.
If you're a fan of MLB The Show, don't hesitate to pick up this year's copy.

MLB the show is still the best baseball game out. RTTS is great. The new story mode is weird.

Gameplay is great this year. Many great improvements. However this was hampered by one of the worst launches in recent gaming history. A month into the game's life and online play is still inconsistent and glitchy.

Somehow, this series continues to get better and better every year. This year's release is a major improvement in a number of different areas from graphics to physics (most likely due to this being the first year that there is no PS3 and Vita version to develop). Retro mode is a nice touch, but gets old quick. Definitely a must-own for any baseball fan.

There's too much micro-transaction stuff going on here. It looks beautiful and the RTTS is great, although there are some glitches. I have been playing and will continue playing A LOT.

MLB The Show 17 has fixed a lot of problems that appeared in 16 including the terrible defensive animations that ended up causing you to miss easy outs.
The new retro mode is a great addition for casual players. It also allows the hardcore players to play with their siblings, partners, children, and parents and be on a level playing field.

The game is for my son. He plays on the PS4. His main complaint is that unlike The Show 16, he can't pick the team he plays for when starting in the farm system. The system picks the team you get drafted to. Graphics continue to be incredible, and the dialogue between the player and coaches is an interesting addition to the game.

I have always loved MLB The Show - one of the reasons why I switched form Xbox to PS4 was for this game. 2017 is an awesome game and I have thoroughly enjoyed losing myself in the game. In past games, I have added the amount of time I have spent and I realized, I would have been far more productive had I not played :)
