I heat wrapped them for outdoor door use and has stood up to heavy rains. I attached to my dog's gate to see if he's locked up and if so, for how long. Nice to be able to check before opening my driveway gate. I've had it in use for 2 weeks and have had zero issues. Battery has been holding at 95%. Worked intermittently outside but installed another google wifi point in the garage for better connectivity due to the distance from the house.

I removed a star because almost NO DOOR is flush with the frame, so I was creative with the installation. Other than that, it works great. It's really nice not needing a hub like a lot of other ones seem to need.

Does Not Stay Connected to My Phone

However, this item rarely worked correctly. When I add the device to the app, it eventually connects (usually the 1st or 2nd attempt) but it does not stay connected for more then 1 or 2 days. I have added this item to the app at least 5 times, and it never stays connected. When it works, this is a great tool! However, it is not reliable at all, unfortunately.

The device is only compatible with a 2.4GHz WiFi network If your router is dual band it may be getting knocked offline as it receives emissions of charge from in incompatible network. A way to have this prevented is by splitting the router where each network is uniquely named and has its own password.

Posted .Hello and thank you for reaching out. We regret to hear that you experienced difficulty with the Smart WiFi Door and Window Sensors. They are ONLY compatible with a 2.4GHz WiFi network. If you have a dual-band router that has 2.4G and 5G we recommend splitting the router where each network is uniquely named and has its own password. This will prevent the incompatible network from emitting charge causing an interference in the device's ability to connect. Also ensure that all access points are allowed for the MOBI App (i.e. location, Bluetooth, etc..)
