I personally like the silicone. I bought this one to replace and its fine. It is what it is. Maybe because it's new and will loosen up after more and more uses but it does seem stiff when trying to put the watch band in the strap holders. With the quick clips on the watch, you can change the bands out in seconds. The silicon issue is no big deal, just takes an extra minute to get it the strap holders to your liking.
