Posted .Greetings BruceF! If you happen to be a short distance from the broadcast towers, we recommend you trying a non-amplified antenna. There can be quite a bit of interference when you are too close to the towers while using an amplifier. You can give us a call at 877-825-5572 and we can perform a detailed analysis of your location, this will help us determine what the issue is and we can advise on a solution. Posted .Hi TerranceC! When connecting your antenna in a different area, it is important to remember to perform a channel scan using your TV remote. Since you are in a new area, we do have a free app that can help. It is called Antenna Point you can download to your iOS or Android phone. Once you download, the app will identify your location. You will see the towers in the surrounding area, so you aim the antenna in the right direction to pick up the TV signals. No NBC in Oakton Virginia

However, it DOES NOT receive NBC in Oakton, despite the broadcast tower being within five miles of our house. All other OTA channels are clear, but Channel 4, NBC is not!

In these cases, we suggest moving the antenna to a couple different locations and running some additional channels scans after moving the antenna to see if you can pick up the signals that are not coming in. Never again on line
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I live in the valley just outside of San Francisco in San Ramon and I could only get 1 HD channel and about 10 channel I didn't want, all of them were non English speaking channels. However, the most difficult part was the ordering on line. Best Buy online ordering system is a mess.

Moho Gateway antenna

I can pick up NBC and ABC but not Fox or CBS. Maybe I need a stronger antenna but others in my area get better reception with a similar product.

Posted .Hello user756328, thanks for letting us know about the reception issues. With most indoor antennas, you need to try the antenna is various locations in a room to see if you are picking up the best signal. We also recommend you scan the TV for channels every time you move the antenna. The towers are 1500 feet tall with most of the transmitters towards the top of the tower, so there could be some obstructions like trees or tall buildings between the indoor antenna and the Fox and CBS tower, so we recommend placing the antenna higher up and rescan the TV for channels. There are many factors that can cause TV signal interference, like terrain and obstacles between your home and the TV tower which is most likely why you are not receiving the channel. You might be able to fix the issue by simply moving the antenna up higher in the room or by moving the antenna to another location in the room. If you are in a more urban area, or at a closer distance to the broadcast towers, there is a good chance you do not need an amplifier. Over-amplification can occur within a shorter distance to the towers and could very well make your reception worse. Please give us a call at 877-825-5572 so we can perform a FREE detailed signal analysis of your location to see what the problem could be and if a non-amplified antenna will work better for your area.
