It has a signal indicator and it never moved anywhere I moved the device. I tried several rooms. Returned the device. Just a note, I have worked in electronics as a repair technician for 25 years.

I have a metal pole barn garage first of all. Totally enclosed, fully insulated with concrete floor. I installed a 55" LG flat screen. I installed the antenna and followed the directions. I had an idea of best direction from my neighbor since he had just installed a different one recently. It found several channels, not as many as I thought it might find. It got CBS & FOX, but not the other major networks. Yes it's my manacle as well and I want to be able to close the garage door when it gets colder, so I closed the door and lost ALL reception??? Kinda stinks. I don't want to have to install it outside. Defeats the purpose. It is located up high and turned in the best direction I can find. I guess I will work on improving my WiFi signal and use more streaming. Works ok, but I would've thought it would've been better according to the manufacturer. Located in the upper right corner of my photo. Any suggestions for improvements? Won't upload image

Posted .Hi MikeS! Unfortunately, metal will heavily obstruct the signals you could receive with any antenna you try to use. We always recommend the higher you can place the antenna the better. With the buildings metal exterior, it sounds like you may want to consider an outdoor antenna. My new "Gateway Plus Amplified Indoor HDTV Antenna, 60-mile Range " has been a great enjoyable product I ever get it for myself and my family. I suggest people to buy this product, it offers 90 different TV channels, is very easy to install. Jus get the product,open the box, connect the cables and start enjoying the channels and you are all setup.!!
