Posted .Hi ConwayBill, building materials can cause interference with TV signals. Sometimes it's best to place the antenna in a window. Yes, for sure the best signals are line of sight to the towers. Thank you for writing a review.

It has a signal indicator and it never moved anywhere I moved the device. I tried several rooms. Returned the device. Just a note, I have worked in electronics as a repair technician for 25 years.
