I was a bit skeptical of some of the claims and reviews I read online before I received my Molekule mini+. I’ve had other air filters and they really didn’t make that much of a difference, in my opinion. However, after using this magnificent machine for several days I can say I concur with the consensus and this thing rocks. First off, the design is wonderful. The body is very sleek and blends in well with our décor. The handle is nice and makes it very portable. It is extremely easy to set up the filter and app. Had it running and being controlled by my smart phone in about 15 minutes. The on board controls are very simple to use and the way it lights up is aesthetically pleasing. The filter has several speed settings. We mostly just leave it on auto. It has a sensor that most of the time will leave the machine running on low. On occasion if the air in the room get a little dirty from smoke or some other particulate you’ll hear the little bugger ramp up its power to clear out the air borne debris in a matter of minutes. Now for why I assume you are reading this review, how well does it clean the air? Well our bedroom is downstairs and is sort of a well finished basement. There was always a little bit…just a hint of a dusty, dank smell. One of the walls is a partial retaining wall that butts up against dirt. Nothing that really bothered us as apparently we had gotten totally used too. This has changed, big time. Now we have the filter down stairs and a couple hours before bed I just turn on the filter with my phone to let it work it’s magic. When we walk downstairs now it is like night and day or I guess unclean and now clean. I am genuinely stunned how much of a difference it makes. The air is not just clean but it has a borderline magical purity to it. You know how the air before a thunderstorm just has a fantastic quality about it? This is kind of like that…different, but equally noticeably wonderful. Also in the before times I would occasionally get a sneezing fit that felt like it was brought on by allergies, not anymore! Love this thing, five star device all the way!

So the the device works, but it is missing the wifi feature that it is supposed to have. I have rebooted the purifier multiple times to see if the wifi light would come on the device and it does not. I understand that these units can some times get quality control, but this is a pretty important feature to be missed in a device like this. I will most likely be returning it when I get the chance. For $400, I am better off investing in another Dyson.

Pro: Reasonably priced Small size Very quiet Ease of use Cons: None This thing is magic. We live in an apartment that has carpeted bedrooms and the living room. We also have two cats. The carpet seems to trap dust and aggravate allergies for my husband and toddler. After a few nights using this, the post nasal drip and persistent dry cough at night aren't nearly as bad. We all seem to be sleeping better as well. My husband is sensitive to noise at night as well and this doesn't bother him at all. The size is nice as it fits on pretty much any surface you want. It's also a sleek looking unit compared to some of the bigger and clunkier models available on the market. I would definitely recommend this.

Hi Bruce, we're sorry to hear that your Air Mini+ did not meet your expectations. As for the controls, we designed them with simplicity in mind to toggle the fan modes with just a tap, and for convenience, the Air Mini+ has an Auto Protect mode that will automatically adjust the fan speeds based on the air quality in the room. Overall, we encourage you to reach out to our Customer Support team when you experience problems setting up your device and other concerns should you decide to give us another try in the future.

Don't waste your time or your money. The units actually make your air smell terrible. The story they tell you about the air filters needing to "off-gas" is a complete farce. The smell never goes away. The company just hopes that you will get used to it. Let alone the fact that the units don't help with VOC reduction whatsoever.

Hi Barker, we appreciate your feedback! Just like other purifiers, you'll still have particles in the air depending on the air space it's in. In addition to running your Air Mini+ continuously (24/7), we recommend continuing to regularly dust and clean your home. As for the app, You should see the particle concentration on a four-tiered scale in the app. We're always looking into more ways to improve the experience. If you're experiencing any issues or have additional concerns, please reach out to our Customer Support team.

    Clean air with Light

The Air Mini + air purifier is a new way to clean the contaminants, pollutants, bacteria, viruses and allergens from your room. The plus cleans about 250 square feet or a small room. It uses a proprietary filter and a UV light to clean. I placed mine in my living room. Setup was seamless. Once removed from the box, you must remove the cover to take the Peco filter from its plastic, then snap it back in and plug in and turn on. The only active button on the unit is in the center of the top. Touching it once turns it on and multiple touches make the air induction fan turn faster. I chose Active mode which runs continually. At first, When I selected Active mode the sound was noticeable but after about a day it becomes background noise and you hardly realize that it’s on. But at the higher induction fan levels you can really hear it. I would use this setting after a party or if your Particulate light level is yellow or red, which means you have dirty air. After a few minutes of mine being on, I could smell a difference. It had a slight burnt air type smell but nothing bad at all. I have used other purifiers that were horrible. This dissipated almost immediately. The filter basically starts a count down when you turn on the Mini Plus and will force a replacement after about 6 months or sooner if the filter fills up. The unit will have a filter light you can see, it changes color the older it gets. I do not care for the way this works; the filter is a Peco proprietary filter. You can only purchase this through the company, no other filters will work. If you try the unit will not start. The molecule has an app you can download and work with your unit. You can change all settings, view filter life and register for a filter subscription. The app asks you multiple times. This turned me off. I do not like to be “under the gun” without choices. I wish there were other options for purchasing but you are locked into their filters and prices. I had to hard reset my unit twice to marry it with my phone, but it now works flawlessly. If you don’t mind subscriptions to higher priced filters. This is a good unit. But gets 4 stars from me mainly due to no other filter options. If I were to grade the unit itself. It would get 4.5 star as it is very well built, Solid and not noticeable once you stick it in a corner and forget it. I would recommend this to friends and family, But I would remind them to be prepared to purchase expensive filters. It's too bad a reusable filter wouldn’t work. One that could be washed, dried and used again thereby keeping lots of filters from our landfills and be a greener air purifier.

    What a Difference!

This is our first Molekule purifier, and from packaging to design, this Air Mini + is beautiful. It is on the heavier side, and not made of a small footprint. It is made of solid and quality material. The housing seems to be mostly plastic, but the internals seem to be a bit different than any other purifiers we have had in the past. I appreciate that this differs in that it doesn't just pull the bad particles, bacteria, viruses, mold and other unhealthy particles out of the air, it also kills them. Especially, in the times we are living in now with the virus we are all battling. This gives me a peace of mind, that we have an extra barrier of protection, besides all that we already do. We placed this unit in our master room, and I'm thankful that we have larger nightstands. If we didn't we would have to bring in a small chair or stool, so that we can keep it elevated off of the floor. So if you have small nightstands, or many things upon your nightstands, be ready to clear it off or add an additional item to keep it on. I LOVE that Molekule thought about the cord, something so simple, but there's nothing worse than a product with the shortest cord ever. Not with this. the cord is surprisingly long. I didn't measure it but, its wrapped under the base and seemed to never end. The only issue I've experienced with this was upon setting up. I was met with a tiny bit of difficulty getting started. It didn't connect right away, the app didn't recognize the Air Mini +, so I had to follow their reset procedure which was super simple and that fixed the problem immediately. It connected to the app right after the reset. You plug it in, connect it to the app and it starts on its own and begin to work to evaluate the quality of the air and sets itself on auto protect. There are no physical buttons located on the unit. So you have to download the app to get started. Once connected you don't need the app to operate it, you can simply tap the top center of the Air Mini + and you're able to control it's levels and check to see how good or bad the current air is in the room. The app doesn't have any complicated functions, it simply allows you to change the level of which it removes particles, check filter status, order refills (auto refills available), add devices and device and wifi details. Since having it, we have had it running 24-7. We can smell the difference in the air when we walk into the room. Even when we are cooking, spraying linen fresheners, purifying, and cleaning the room, the machine will adjust using Auto-Detect, and work even harder to pull out those toxins. I have felt a difference in how I rest at night, and how I wake up. It's seemingly a very quiet machine on its lower settings, which indicates that your air is pretty good. As the air quality gets worse, it begins to work harder and then there is noticeable noise, however it's not a noise that is unbearable, distracting or too loud to sleep through. There is an extremely soft/low light emitting from the unit. It is so faint that I had to squint to even see it in the dark. If you're light sensitive, this wouldn't bother you at all. It's barely detectable. I have come to enjoy walking into the room and hearing the unit at work. I will be moving this around into the kids room as well, until we are able to add a second and third unit. I highly recommend the Air Mini +, and can't wait to also invest in the Molekule Air for our larger areas.
