Customers are saying

Customers recognize the Air Mini's positive impact on air quality and its appealing design, citing ease of setup and effective odor removal as key benefits. However, some users find the device's sound level at higher settings to be excessive, and the cost of replacement filters a significant drawback. The app functionality also received mixed reviews. Overall, the purifier's effectiveness is frequently praised, but potential buyers should consider the noise and filter replacement expenses.

I bought many of these in 2022 for our office. They work very well and are very quiet. Many of the people who received them linked them to their phones to be able to control them. I just turned mine on and let it run 24/7.

I bought this right around the holidays as a gift to myself. I live in a medium to large apartment. I can definitely tell the air quality is better. It also helps eliminate cooking odors. I also bought the larger version.

Nice Air Purifier for smaller rooms

The Molekule Air Mini is a nice unit for smaller rooms. It is recommended for rooms up to 250 sq ft. I have had it running in our master bedroom for a few days now and the room smells fresh whenever I walk in. Following are some pros and cons with this unit: Pros: - Very easy instructions to set it up and get it running in a matter of minutes. - There is only one button to operate it, which is a power button and fan speed selector. - It has five fan speeds which are indicated with LED lights. - I like the size. It is small enough to set on a small end table or nightstand so it doesn't take up much space. It can also be set on the floor, although it is recommended to set on a table or stand to maximize airflow. - It is a nice design and neutral color so blends into any room. It has a faint blue glow also. - It has 360 degree air intake so you can set it facing any direction. - It has a LED light that will tell you when it is getting close to needing a new filter and when it is time to replace it. Instructions are included to order new filters or get set up on a plan to automatically ship them periodically. It is recommended to replace them every 6 months. Cons: - The Mini is the lowest cost of the Molekule purifiers so it does not have the sensor to rate the air particle levels or automatically adjust fan speed based on the sensor like the higher level Molekule models. You can get this feature on the Mini+. It would be nice to have this sensor. While I'm confident it is working and the room smells fresh, there is no visual confirmation of the air quality when using the Mini. - While the noise it makes is like a whisper, it is quite loud when set on speeds 3 - 5. It's not that it's louder than other purifiers, but I find it is too loud on the higher speeds to sleep or watch TV. We set the fan speed at 2 while we are sleeping at night, which provides a nice, soft white noise in the background. Then we turn it up to a fan speed of 4 during the day while we are not in the bedroom. I'm excited to have the Molekule, as I feel it will make a difference in our air quality and reduce germs and dust in our room. I will consider purchasing other Molekule units for other rooms in our house.

    High performance VOC filter

I wanted a filter that would handle VOCs, since I had a new piece of bedroom furniture arriving that I didn’t want to poison me while sleeping. This one provided a lot of real world test results on its website and I couldn’t find others with similar credentials. I set it up and waited for the furniture. When it arrived, the offgassing was obvious. I could choke on it. I had learned that it took 8 hours or so to filter out the VOCs. I let the filter get to work and amazingly by the time I went to bed all odor was gone. And I’m not experiencing any tickle in my throat, soreness, or other physical reactions to VOCs. So bravo! And I paid a very fair price at Best Buy compared to all the other retailers.

I loved the air purifier, it helped me control my allergies, but fillter has a smell. In small area the filtered air sometimes has that smell... For the price of this purifier it is remarkably premium product and looks good but i am going to be picky for evey flaw as they are charging a lot more then their competition.

Air purifiers are definitely much more popular now with the pandemic going on. Especially for the office, which is where I put this. I love that this doesn't have a grill like other purifiers where a lot of dust clings on to. It aesthetically pleasing to look at and is easy to use once you get it synced to your WiFi. Some people's review swear that they can "feel" or "smell" the better air quality. For me, I don't get that, but just trust it's doing what it's supposed to do. It's definitely on the high end of the price range. Glad I got it during Black Friday.

I’m still not sure if this is as amazing as they say it is......the highest setting is loud. It does remove smells, like when I burn food, but I don’t know about cleaner air. Very expensive and I don’t know if I can justify it but it all that was available at the time.

At first I thought about returning. Didn’t seem to do much in my daughters room. But my daughter liked the subtle hum it produces. Acted similar to a sound machine for her. She asked for the “fan” back in her room when we removed it to return. After a few weeks to a few months actually started noticing my daughter didn’t have a continual runny nose like toddlers do! Not immediate but does work well!

Clean Air Act/EPA For Your Room

The Molekule Air Mini comes easy to unbox and securely packaged. You open the box, take it out of the travel bag, open it and remove the plastic from the filter inside, and you are ready to BREATHE BETTER. With easy to follow instructions and setup you will NOT have a frustrating time using this. Just remember to open the top and take the plastic off your filter before turning it on! It is built of plastic rather than the aluminum its bigger brothers are made of, but built well nonetheless. It's a little taller than a paper towel roll (12in high), 8in in diameter, and weighs around 7lbs. It is rated to handle rooms up to 250sqft effectively. There are only three parts (shell, filter, base) so it is not hard to put back together. It is made of matte white plastic with almost no hard edges. It utilizes a small touch sensitive panel with simple touch control on the top of the shell to dial up or down the fan speed. With PICO not HEPA technology, this cleans and sanitizes your air by using UV light to destroy irritants on the filter. At least every 6 months it is recommended to change the filter. With that being said, we need to know what the replacements will cost. At the time of this writing 5/2020, you are looking at $75/ea. That's $150 to operate after your initial investment MINIMUM. Now for the personal story involving a guy who has allergies who wakes up sneezing a few times a week… me. I run a ceiling fan at night and I clean the dust off the blades. I vacuum every day at least once and do all the things I can to clean the air in my home. In short, this is a test for me to see if it is a noticeable difference. I can say since the first night I noticed a difference. My throat and nose didn't feel the usual allergy symptoms and no sneezing (until I left my room to the "unclean" air). It was INSTANTANEOUS after I left my room and entered the rest of the house before I started sneezing as usual. This makes a difference for me as an allergy sufferer. I am no scientist and I have no testing to prove this, but I know it works for me. It is hard to say you can use this while you sleep on any setting higher than 3 (middle light). The fan is REALLY loud but it moves air to match. My recommendation is to leave this running an hour before bed on high then you can lower the speed to 3 or 2 to sleep in a clean and quiet room. Not everyone will buy this with other options out there, but it does work!

My Molekule Air Mini is currently in a bedroom, but it - and all Molekules can easily be moved to another room. It is so quiet - as are my other 2 Molekules. What I notice most is that the air is so much fresher. I used to sneeze all day. What a wonderful change!

Molekule has a good quality and very eye catching air purifier. Perfect for office or bedroom. It runs very quite, has five speeds, five being the loudest. Is energy efficient, does not have an app to control it, thats on the mini +, which is more expensive.

I have owned and operated the Molekule for seven days. It has been running almost non-stop for those seven days in one of five rooms in my home: home office, bedroom, craft room, basement entertainment room, and teenager’s bedroom. All five rooms have either an odor problem, dust problem, mildew and mold, or a combination of air quality issues. The Mini is rated for rooms 250 sq. ft. or less. All rooms were less than 250 sq. ft. Air Cleaning: Teenager’s bedroom: Significant odor reduction. For those of you with teenagers, enough said. Home Office: Food smells and body odor can build up in this enclosed space. I am in it for eight or more hours a day. The room also has dust issues. Odors were eliminated on low to low medium fan speeds. I have noticed a reduction in dust levels after running continuously for two days. Bedroom: Bedrooms everywhere tend to build up odors. Mine is no exception. I placed the Mini on a stool in the room for about five hours. Eliminated the odor. Craft room: This room is part of my basement. It is also the room where my cat box is located. The room usually has a musty smell with notes of cat litter. I placed the Mini in the room for 24 hours. Odor’s were greatly reduced. Basement entertainment space: This space just gets musty smelling. I will eventually have mildew issues in this room if I do not clean or run a dehumidifier. I ran the Mini in the room for 24 hours. The musty smell was greatly reduced. Did it clean the air of mold or mildew spores? I have no way of knowing. I probably will not know what affect it had until the summer months. Setup: The unboxing experiencing, minus the white laminate paper wrappings, reminded me of unboxing an apple product. The Mini was well protected by a high impact cardboard top and bottom caps. All recyclable! Someone has been reading my reviews! The Mini was covered with a white fabric bag to protect it from scratches. The filter ships in a plastic bag and stored inside the Air Mini. You need to remove the filter from the bag, reinsert the filter, and then replace the lid. Unwrap the cord from the base, plug it in, and press the top center indent to turn it on. The printed instructions state that setup is complete after you download and setup the app. The app did not support the Mini at time of this review. The unit will work without the app. Note: be sure to read the directions regarding attaching the cover. It has a specific alignment and then a twist at the end to secure it. Finally, there is an app for the Mini. The app was not functional for the Mini at the time of this review. Use: As stated above, I tested this unit in five rooms over the course of seven days. However, it took almost three days for the factory fresh smell to dissipate from the unit. The instruction manual does state that it may take up to 24 to 48 hours for the smell to dissipate. You will not be able to tell if the unit is cleaning the air for up to the first 48 hours due to the that factory fresh odor. The instructions state this unit works best when off the floor. I placed my unit on a small stool. I found that the unit works best closer to the middle of a room instead of close to a wall or in a corner. This allows the 360 in-take to draw from the whole room. Low and low medium is quiet. Medium is about as loud as a white noise generator; maybe a little louder. This is the speed I use for my home office. Max setting sounds like a leaf blower. I would only recommend this setting if you are trying to clear a room quickly. Looks: The unit has a simple, elegant, modern design. It is probably the most beautiful air cleaner I have ever owned. It really looks like something Apple could have built. The outer shell is sturdy plastic with a good texture to it. The top of the unit is glossy, light gray, has a touch activated button in the middle, and exhaust fins that surround the perimeter. The bottom of the unit has a rubberized ring that prevents it from slipping. The ring also prevents the unit from moving when removing and replacing the filter housing. The very bottom of the unit, behind the rubberized ring, is a spindle with housing where the power kept. You unwrap the cable you need and leave the rest. Most other purifier’s just leave the cord to dangle. The felt handle is secured to the side of the unit with a stylish gray nob. The nob is loose enough to allow the handle to rotate to any position along the Y axis. These are all little details that add to the premium look and feel of this product. The unit is heavy for its size. Anyone can move it using the included felt handle. It feels like a product not made of thin, cheap plastic. The center of the unit, running the length of the filter, is a cylinder covered with UV LEDs. These lights automatically engage when the unit is turned on. This is how the filter handles those pesky spores and viruses. The light can be seen from the intake opening and exhaust fins when the room lights are dim or off. The black lighting effects are cool and unique. Final thoughts: A lot of thought went into make the Mini from the looks, operation, and user experience. It is simple to setup and operate. It is stylish. And, after a few days of cleaning out that awful factory smell, the Mini does a good job of filtering away air born particles and room odor. I do have a much larger, industrial like air filter I got from Home Depot a few years ago. The unit has three filters, but never once has it cleaned a room of odors or cleared the air of smoke from cooking. For about the same money, between the unit and filters, the Mini does the same or better job. It also looks better and is much more portable. When I first got this until I seriously considered returning it. I had no way of knowing if this device was snake oil or not due to the factory odor. Kind of hard to tell if your air is clean if it stinks. The odor faded after a few days use. Now that I have used it a full week I have decided to keep it. I will use this in my home office during the week, and whatever room I am occupying during my weekends. I may consider adding the larger Molekule device for my larger living space if the mini continues to perform as well as it has. I hope you found this review informative. Thank you for reading.
