Customers are positive about the Air purifier's ability to improve air quality and its generally quiet operation, while also appreciating its ease of use and attractive design. However, customers are negative about the high price of both the unit and replacement filters, and some experienced issues with the accompanying app and reported a noticeable odor during initial use. The size of the unit was also a point of contention for some users.

I received this Molecule device as a gift in February. I was hesitant at first after pulling it from the box. I was surprised to see the beautiful technology of how this device was made. The handle is made with fine grained leather making it easy as a carry-on anywhere. The color is awesome, a beautiful steel Gray that will enhance any area in your residence. Instructions were very simple, weight a little heavy, the setting on the machine was very simple to follow and select. I noticed that IF you accidentally unplug it l, it will notify you that you removed it and allow you to continue with the same setting. I chose silent setting and it does have auto and boost. I run it continuously for the BEST PERFORMANCE EVER! WHEN YOU FIRST PLUG IT IN, YOU MUST RUN IT TO CONDUCT AN INITIAL CLEAN. ++DO NOT BE ALARM** THE SMELL WILL DISSIPATE AND RELEASE THE INITIAL CLEAN IN 28 TO 48 HOURS. I'm using it in a bedroom that has millions of tiny particles that falls from the popcorn ceiling. ..What congestion this has been that caused itching in the eyes and lung problem when breathing. The Molekule filters, out ALL of the minute particles that falls consistently by destroying all the bacteria and dust.
It such as dust mites, other burnt food smell, nail polish remover and many more. A closet door were recently painted and the fumes were so strong, that in 4 days the smell was gone by this machine. It does just what it says, it's an excellent device
I would recommend it to anyone who has asthma, allergens, breathing problems, lupus, or any other lungs problems. The air is crisp, and it's an unbelievable product that is so amazing.. you can tell a GREAT BIG DIFFERENCE from the outside air and when coming into your bedroom that the AIR you inhale and breathe from the Molecule Air is an AMAZING DEVICE. It filters any viruses, and pollen It traps black mold on the PECO-FILTER. The 3 various controls are a PLUS. That gives you an option to control these setting on your cell phone, using WiFi. The filters comes with the machine and **Never turn it off if you want an outstanding quality of fresh crisp air. I'm hooked and do not have to worry about replacing the filter every 3 months from the other purifier that I just gave it's energy efficient and extends up to 600 ft. The filter has to be replace once a year.

I'm just going to start this review with what matters most, does this thing work? Simple answer is yes.
I've now had this Molekule Air for almost a week and it's been running non-stop since the moment I got it. My wife was especially excited as she has mild asthma along with the typical allergies. So she's been wanting to get this air purifier for some time now after hearing about it. We also have 2 big dogs in a smaller 1500 square foot home.
First thing we did was put it in the main living area which pushes the 600 s.f. area limit this is supposed to handle. Set it on boost mode and let it run for a couple hours before setting it to auto mode. When run in boost, you can definitely notice a difference in the air fairly quickly. Once it's been going for a bit and is running normally though, it's not as easy to tell a difference. Being stuck in a home though you get used to your surroundings which makes it tougher. We knew the real test would be when we got a chance to leave the house for a while and come back, as it's when we come back that we normally could tell how bad the air in the house was. First time we got that chance, we were excited to see what we'd come home to. And upon first opening the door, we could instantly tell the difference. With 2 big dogs, that air can hit you like a brick, but this time it didn't. And yes, we regularly bathe and groom our dogs, but it's also a small house.
We've also moved it around into different rooms, rooms that were only 100-200 square feet, to see how it handled smaller areas. It definitely made a noticeable difference in a really short time, especially when running in boost mode. The room that is my office I could tell a difference in probably 10 minutes. Although this unit is probably overkill for a smaller room, its nice to be able to move it around easily to run a quick cycle and move it out..
Now onto some of the other features. The design and handle strap is perfect. This unit isn't exactly light, but the tall narrow shape with the handle makes it really easy to pick up and move around. MUCH easier than other air purifiers we've had before. And it's easily the best looking out of all the purifiers.
And speaking of construction, everything about this is high quality, even down to the soft power cord. Nothing about it feels cheap, which is good because it's definitely on the pricier side for air purifiers.
Setting it up is a breeze as well. With the app downloaded we were able to get it connected to the home wifi network within minutes at which point it already started downloading and installing the latest update.
The small touchscreen on the top of the unit is probably one of the most clear screens I've ever seen. This seems like a small and simple thing that doesn't really matter, but the clarity of the options and writing on this screen is amazing, yet still simple and easy to use.
As far as sound goes, Boost mode is pretty loud, and you definitely feel that relief when you turn it off. Normal mode is about as loud as a small house fan, but smoother if that makes sense. Nothing unbearable and it's running just a mere 5 feet away from us and doesn't interfere at all while watching TV. Then there's silent mode, which is about as unobtrusive as you can get. There is one thing I find really cool about the sound that I love and that is when you start it up. It sounds like a jet engine spinning up!
I honestly don't really have any negatives about this air purifier, other than the high price, but you also get what you pay for.
It's tough to judge how well it does what it says it does because it's dealing with microscopic organisms. As we all know, we can't see viruses, and can't smell them. I did my research though, and the science behind this air purifier looks to be sound, and at the very least, I for sure have more peace of mind sitting in my home with it running. And as far as allergies, I haven't suffered them while in the same room with it running, which seems like solid proof that it works.
One last thing, it also comes in a nice storage bag. Although not sure when you would ever want to store it and not use it.

molekule air
air purifier is something that I been wanting i’ve always have problem sleeping and waking with dry throat, my friend said it’s because the air moisture at my house that I should get an air purifier to help me, I actually just got a small Vick’s air purifier which, it does actually help me not having that problem when i wake up. i had opportunity to try out this air purifier by molekule, and i’ve been using it for a week. this opinion is base on my experience and feeling about the product, I just feel like this kind of product is hard to review part from what the science behind it was talked about.
Pros
- the packaging of molekule was great the air purifier was inside a nice white bag
- I love the design I thought the look was great it’s very simplistic
- it’s heavy, the product feels premium considering this cost $800 I was just glad it does feel cheap
- easy setup, the touch controller on the top of the device is very simple, reminded me of the old motorola android watches
- when you upload the air purifier and move to different locations, you will he ask if the device has been move so you have the chance to pick another room size so it can calibrate correctly accordingly
- phone app setup was also easy, you can change the settings from your phone so you won’t have to get up, and the ability to see how your filter conditions are doing.
cons
- the filter after 6 month is expensive $65 for the PECO filter and regular filter they have, I don’t really know if I could keep doing that
- it’s tough to say if am I really getting better air? is it cleaner? those things are one of the reasons it’s hard for me to review this product
- decided to use molekule for a week while sleeping to see if I wake up with dry throat and I gotta say that I still do, a small Vick’s air purifier was something that definitely helped me a lot more. so for $800 and couldn’t give me that satisfaction was a hard call for me.
- wish the application gives you a daily report of how much it cleaned the location, have data from the past few days that’s been on, but it doesn’t , i’d like to have a more robust data for the price you are paying
I personally haven’t feel any different after having molekule in my house, some people would probably have better impact than me, but for the price I just don’t know if it’s worth it not knowing if it’s actually doing it’s job. I don’t question molekules research either for building this, if they say it does what it’s suppose to do, then great, I just wish I had more data info of what’s actually being cleaned in my house.

Omgosh! Where to begin?
This Molekule product was packaged exceptionally well. Opening the box and unwrapping the air purifier was almost like Christmas. It was sheathed in a cloth drawstring bag. Although the device was heavier, and taller, than I thought it would be, that just speaks to the Molekule Air being a well-made, quality machine. And in my opinion, it is.
There is a companion app, of course. It’s pretty basic, but does what it is designed for. The device was super simple to set up. Within 5 minutes the Molekule was running through it’s first cleaning cycle. And from there on, I became a believer. I really can sense, and smell, the difference in my home. Instead of the air seeming to be stagnant and stale, the room environment I have the Molekule placed in, feels fresh and clean.
One of the main things I found exceptional about the Molekule Air, is that it doesn’t just capture and collect air pollutants, it breaks down and destroys them by means of the PECO-Filter and UV-A light working in conjunction with one another.
When they say ‘Silent’ mode, they mean it. ‘Auto’ is what I will primarily have the Molekule Air set on, for 24/7 continuous everyday cleaning (and it only uses approximately the same amount of energy as a 35w lightbulb). You do hear the machine working on Auto mode, but I wouldn’t consider it to be “loud.” ‘Boost’ mode will come in handy, for the suggested uses mentioned in the included user guide, such as after dusting or home cleaning involving chemicals. I more than likely won’t be using ‘Dark mode’ as I happen to like the peaceful, relaxing blue light. But there is that option for people who may be light-sensitive. In Dark mode the UV-light feature is off, so pollutants aren’t being eliminated, merely captured.
Changing the filters is simple and easy. And the company offers the option of auto-refill delivery for when the filters need to be switched out. I’ll probably be signing up for that.
This Molekule Air is an impressive machine. Not only does it perform admirably, it looks amazing too. Very sleek and modern, yet at the same time, unobtrusive wherever you may choose to place it in your home.
Although seeming a bit costly, in comparison to other brands of air purifiers out there in the market, it’s a fair price for the quality and performance this Molekule brings. I highly, highly recommend!

Cleaner air to invest in my health

First off right out of the box this is a very modern and contemporary looking air filter. I have had an air purifier in the past before this, and it looked more utilitarian. Molekule did an excellent job at making the aesthetics of this unit look excellent. It is ready to be placed into any room of your choice regardless of your home/office decor. It will garner a lot of attention from guests in your home/office because it catches your attention. My spouse commented that it looks like a special machine from the future, and it really does have that stunning look to it.
I'm a big proponent of purifying the air in my home due to allergies and health issues. I have been pleased with using this machine for the past week. The air seems cleaner and makes breathing for my family a lot better. Seasonal allergies and dust have been an issue for us and keeping this going while we are relaxing and sleeping has helped us all. Relief for itchy eyes and sneezing going on, so I attribute it to this Molekule Air. Another aspect of this I'm thankful for is that it has PECO technology to help kill any airborne virus. Not sure if it will help in any aspect of destroying the coronavirus germs, but I'm feeling more confident with running this all the time during our pandemic of 2020. During our cold/flu season and with the germs we bring home from work and school, I'm sure this will help to keep our in home air cleaner.
The machine is very innovative and easy to use right from the start. Downloaded the Molekule app from the App store and had it up and running on my iPhone XR within minutes. Paired the Molekule Air to my phone and had it set up based on the size of my particular room setting. Easy to operate from the touch screen on the top of the machine and from the app as well. The machine operates in Silent (which is whisper quiet), Auto (which is just a low hum of a noise), and Boost (this is louder and drawing in more airflow). The inside blue/purple light can be turned on or off, which proves to be helpful if you're running this while you're sleeping overnight. The handle is well made and holds the unit well while I'm carrying it from room to room, so I never feel like I'm having to hold it awkwardly. The filters are easy to replace and access, as they're hidden away very well internally. It weighs close to 20 pounds so it's a solid well built machine.
Overall I really like this and am pleased with the air quality in my home. Suffering less from allergy related issues. If I'm making a health investment in myself and my family, I feel it's worth the cost of this machine.

Better air quality
Improve health issues
Excellent styling
Easy app usability

Ongoing cost of replacing filters

Purification

I have had this in my living room for a few weeks and noticed that it has helped a bit with some of the chemicals used for cleaning that my wife uses. Other than that I wanted to use this for pet dander, pollen and dust living in the desert.
They personally don't get to me too much, but I wanted to get a purifier for the kids, complaints of runny noses and tissue use has gone down since getting the Molekule Air, so that's a positive to me.
I did check the filters today and can see a little bit of pet hair and other things caught in the lower pre-filter, didn't notice much in the top. I did have to look up how to gain access to the filters as they are hidden in the design on the device. Which is nice for the appearance, it would be nice if there was a little welcome video to show you, at least it does show you in the filter status section of the app.
You do notice the Molekule on the Auto/Higher settings, on silent it is barely noticable, I do not know if the device runs all of the time or if it does go into a stand-by. I know there is an option, but there are some things I do not know. It would be nice if you could set a schedule or utilize more features as a lot of other devices in your home with smart features. I would like to be able to schedule it or know how long it has been running, the small touch screen on the device is nice, but I prefer to use the app myself.
I saw a percentage on the molekule website and I have no idea what that was as I have never seen that on my device, I don't know if that was the filter percentage or what, I don't know if the dots on the filter screen are to say how much longer the filter is good, but I feel if it wasn't possibly running 24 hours this wouldn't go so fast?
My biggest downside to this is the app in my mind, a companion app to your device should be a central place for a customer to find Tips or device information. I know an app should be simple and don't want to make it a bulky experience, but there isn't even a section in it to take you to their website for this information which is likely on there even if it's hidden in the more tab.
Overall I can't complain, the device seems to be working for those who I was interested in the product for so thumbs up from me! Just know if you're looking for some details, you will need to hit up the world wide web.

Quality and Attention to Detail

The Molekule Air purifier is clearly a premium product and it shows in very detail. My wife wakes up sneezing every morning, and since running the Molekule purifier through the night, she’s not sneezed in the morning, at least not until leaving our room.
I previously purchase another high quality air purifier with ~450 sq ft rating, and it also works well, but clearly wasn’t designed with the same care and level of detail as the Molekule.
The Molekule has a leather handle and is relatively portable, something my precious air purifier couldn’t say. It’s design is basically one solid piece with no visible seams. Accessing the filters involves pressing down and turning the top portion of the unit, after which you hear a whoosh and it slides up elegantly to reveal a filter drawer. The secondary filter is also able to be lifted up at that point as well.
It runs fairly quietly on auto and has a boost mode if you’re quickly trying to purify a room. It recommends leaving it on 24/7 and claims on Auto, to only use the energy of a small light bulb.
I also love that it connects to my network, and I can control it from an app on my phone. From there, I’m also able to see when the filters need to be changed.
It’s blue disinfecting light and solid aluminum design gives it a futuristic look so instead of being an eyesore in the room, it’s almost like a standing piece of art.
If you value the sleekness, design, and portability of this premium product, it’s definitely one I would recommend.

Air Quality never smelled so clean

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I've never owned such a fancy air filter. The unit comes packed really well, comes with a really nice storage bag, an extra pre-filter (one was already installed), and a power cord. The quick setup guide is pretty straight forward, and the Molekule was plugged in and working fairly quickly.
The aluminum body looks clean, the power plug fits flush to the bottom of the unit, and the handle makes it easy to move around. The app installed quickly from the App Store (on iOS), and account creation was really straightforward, making setup a breeze! Within a few minutes, the air filter was set to auto, and starting to clean the air. Having three small dogs, pet dander is constantly reminding me of it's presence, and within less than half a day this got rid of every smell in the air.
I mean the air was SUPER clean. I can't describe it accurately, but can say that going from another competitor, with expensive hepa filters that come with carbon pre-filters and UV lighting, this one easily shot over it. The app also makes it super easy to auto refill filters, and with auto replenish, is far cheaper to run. The fan is really quite, even in boost compared to my other air filter; which sounded like a window AC unit coming on high. The app also makes it easy to program schedules to have the light turn off, ensuring you're not being kept up with a blue hue while you're trying to fall asleep.
The filters are also super easy to get to. One small twist of the top assembly, and this thing opens up like a science fiction time bomb. It just slides up, and reveals the inner cavity where both filters can easily be replaced. The included storage bag can be used to store the filter when not in use; although I love this thing so much it will never be in it. The touch sensitive screen on the top makes it easy to switch modes, if you're not into the app use, and it's just bright enough to use (it's not going to blind you in the dark).
I will say, compared to my last smart air filter, the Molekule app is simple and designed really well for a minimalist like me. Once you setup the unit, you'll find simple "Silent, Auto, and Boost" modes select-able, along with the status of the two filters. The blue light coming from the top of the unit isn't distracting, and when the lights are off, is really not as bright was I was expecting. If you want to have the light turned off, simply enable "Dark mode" in the app. It even allows you to decide what days and what time to turn off the light. Simply select the days, set the start time, and then the duration; which can be as low as 1 minute, or as long as 23 hours and 59 minutes. The app will remind you that by turning it off, you're turning off a key part of the filter. For my use, I just left it on, as it wasn't distracting enough for me at night.
The design of this is about as tall as many other standing air filters, while looking much more attractive, and working much more effectively. The only other unit I can compare this to, is in the $1500 - $2000 range, but is a lot quieter. I really can speak highly enough of this. For my use, this was in a 400 sq foot bedroom, and rarely needed to put itself into any "Boost" mode once it did it's initial air clean. Overnight, the fan was never loud, so you don't need to worry about waking up to a loud air filter. If you're looking to save a bit of money on the replacement filters, I'd highly recommend using the auto-refill option in the app; otherwise, you may find that you'll be spending a bit more buying them one at a time.
Overall, I can't speak highly enough of the Molekule. The air quality is much better since I've started using it (within an hour of install) compared to my other systems, auto filter refill options (subscription), and the ease of the app make this an easy recommendation.

Great for pethair, bacteria, pollen, and mold
This air purifier has several functions but the one that caught my eye the most is being able to filter mold
Living in an area where several houses got flooded during hurricane Harvey this is a must.
Mold caused by dirty water can cause severe health issues if not taken care of and this air purifier can help tremendously even more if you havve elderly people, or kids living in a house that has been previously been flooded.
The only thing i wish could be added to this purifier is some kind of way to measure air purity or the different factor that are causing the air to be impure (like pie chart form).
Also filters could be a bit pricey hopefully they go down in price in the future.

Great Air Purifier - And Timely

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Let me start by saying that this is one of the most difficult items I've ever reviewed. I mean with a soundbar or headphones or Bluetooth speaker, you can easily judge the bass or mid's or highs against other devices and easily compare features. A T.V. review, same. But an air purifier? I don't know about you, but I personally don't have a way to measure air particulates, pollen and other airborne allergens. That said, this review will be purely subjective based on my wife and I comparing notes after a weeks worth of use.
The device was well packaged and very easy to set up. My 18 year old son had it unpacked and set up in just 3 or 4 minutes. Easy money.
It is an attractive unit that should easily blend into most decors, finding a proud yet unpretentious perch most anywhere. It has a small foot print (8.25") circumference. It stands just under 2' tall and weighs a very easily portable 18 pounds. It has very attractive finish and includes a soft and wide leather handle for easy wielding and attractive aesthetics.
The control module is a round, color touch-screen that is simple, elegant and intuitive. It offers power on/off, fan speed, lighting and filter monitoring. Very classy and understated.
A couple things that we both appreciated, is the "Silent" mode. It is exactly that: dead silent yet it still moves ample air. There is also an "Auto" mode and a "Boost" mode. They are exactly as advertised.
The other item that we appreciated was the soft, ambient up-lighting (pictured). Important note, the unit uses the lighting to help control and eliminate pollutants. I don't know the technical reasons how that works, but I trust it is true based on performance. We leave it on all the time. We have this in our bedroom and it offers a nice, unobtrusive nightlight. Impressive.
They also offer an app that connects first via Bluetooth, and then via WiFi. Set-up took some doing. It was not quite tedious, but it did take a few tries and some basic self trouble-shooting but this is somewhat common with BT/WiFi connections. The app offers control and monitoring of the unit. It's cool, but it's neither a deal maker nor breaker.
OK, now lets try to move to efficacy. As previously mentioned, I don't have any measurable way to monitor airborne particulates so this is just based on our overall perceptions. We were given the opportunity review this fine Molekule Air product in early spring, right at the height of pollen season. We live immediately at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Northern Colorado so literally every single day we are under a National Weather Service "Pollen Alert". Additionally, my Firefighter/Paramedic wife is undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. As such, she is Immunol-compromised and acutely at risk to pollen and other allergens.
After a week with this unit, we both firmly believe that it has had a positive impact on the air quality. I wish I could say more, or why or some other measurable or quantifiable reason why, but I can't. She is sleeping better, less allergic reactions and the air just feels "cleaner". If I ever know anyone in the future with my wife's situation, I would encourage them to get this unit.
In all, we have found this to be a fantastic product and we would absolutely recommend to a friend. Impressive.
**PLEASE NOTE** This product was provided to me at no cost in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. This review is exactly that; honest and unbiased. The price played no role in the tone or honesty of this review.

I suffer from allergies and sometimes wake up sneezing uncontrollably for several minutes. Lately with the wildfires in California, it has only gotten worse so I decided to finally give Molekule a try. It arrived quickly and was super easy to set up on my iPhone. We ran it overnight and the next morning, I was able to smell clearly and also noticed that our home didn’t smell strongly of smoke. We love how easy it is to control, having different modes, and of course how seamlessly it integrates into our home because it looks really sleek and modern. It also takes up really little space which is a huge bonus.

Very nice air purifier. We have been using it 2 weeks. We returned two other brands. I like that it kills bacteria, viruses, etc. instead of just trapping them like a HEPA filter does. It is very quiet on auto. Boost is loud but you can clear out cooking smells and smoke very quickly on boost. I burnt bacon so I got to test it. Lol. You can see the quality in this brand from the minute you open the box. It blends in with the decor in our home very nicely. Very aesthetically pleasing. You can get the filters much cheaper if you sign up for the auto refills. But who wouldn’t as it keeps you from having to remember to order them. You can cancel anytime. I did a mountain of research and was impressed by all aspects of this brand. The only downside is the app. They need to work on the app. But who really needs an app? You turn it on forget it. These purifiers are high quality and were designed through 25 years of research so I cannot lower the rating because of an app. It has not disappointed us. We like it so much that we went back a few days later and purchased the mini for our bedroom. Highly recommend.

Great filter, easy setup.

Great air filter. It's a little heavy, however it has a great and comfy carrying handle (seems made of leather or leatherette). It was easy to unpack and setup. You have to download their Molekule app (android or ios). From there, all that had to be done was plug it in power, load the app and allow permission to use bluetooth, from there, it detects the filter and asks your wifi info so it can connect to the internet. From there, it upgraded itself (a new firmware) and asks you the size of the room it is and according to it sets its speed. It came with a Peco filter and a pre filter already installed (they include a pre filter in the box to get you to the 6 months mark, once you hit the six month mark or so, depending of how much you use it and how polluted is your area, you must replace the PECO filter and the pre filter).
Its difficult to measure just by "feeling" if its really providing better air quality, but one thing I can share, is it has definitely improved my night sleeping. I sleep with my door and windows closed and you can feel how "heavy" the air is in the morning, with the filter, not at all, my sleeping has improved and the air in my bedroom feels way better!
It's highly customizable, you can set a "silent" mode for night and believe me, its very silent. I'm a light sleeper and doesn't bother me. The light is obtrusive too, it just points to the ceiling (there is a "dark" mode in the app, however is very hidden, as that would seriously dampen the filter abilities, as it depends on its light for maximum filtration).
CONS:
-There was a little bit of "new plastic" smell the first couple of days, but its expected (they even say so in the manual) and went away quickly, no big deal.
-The replacements are a little expensive (around $130), but then again, its a once every 6 months investment. You can either buy them manually or if you sign up, since the filter is internet connected, it can auto reorder them for you.
PROS:
+Excellent filtration (seriously, read Molekules white papers, and independent papers about how a PECO filter works, it uses some sort of light to activate titanium or so in the filter, which is able to destroy bacteria, viruses etc). This is not your average UV filter, that's why the replacements may be a little more expensive.
+Customization, you can put it anywhere in your house, it asks you what size room it is every time you unplug and move it and you can move it around your home. The app is great!

Definitely a high quality filter but be prepared for the annual expenses of replacing the filters. Setup out the box, connected to the app, and configured took maybe 10 mins. It looks great sitting in the corner of our living room downstairs and even on the normal setting you can hardly even hear or notice it running.
I have noticed a cleaner and fresher smell in the room where it is situated. Our living room is right off the kitchen as well so it helps to eliminate odors from cooking as well which is nice. We do not have pets but I could definitely see this being a great product to remove pet dander or dust created from having pets.
Aside from the cost of replacement filters, which can be setup via the app to auto-ship and give you a little discount on them, it is a great product as long as you understand going into it that you will be replacing multiple filters a year based on the use within your home.

It is unbelievable the change in the air of our living room. Not just the air smells better but it brought humidity to our home. The living room is a big part of the house and having Molekule taking care of the air was great since we leave in one of the driest states of the US.
The app is great, easy to set up, and manage. The filter change subscription isn't that high since you have to change every six months.

Helpful. I use it for my art-room and have it running all the time. I paint with oils and it helps tremendously.
