This is our third Molekule unit but the first Air Pro. We think they perform well at cleaning our air. The unit runs well and in normal operation the noise level is low.

Purchased March 2021, very quite, no problems. It seems to be doing what it was purchased for. My only complaint is the price of the filters every 6 months.

First off I was very please with the look and quality of this air purifier. It fits in nicely with our décor, so no need to try and hide this unit out of the way some where.. In my household we have pets and some members with allergies and have had multiple different air purifiers units. None have worked this well this quick. So this unit is a lot bigger than all the others I have used also. Unboxing and set up went very easy for me. I didn't run in to any issues pairing the unit with my phone in the app. And the app is very plan and simple to use. Most of the time I just keep the unit in auto mode and it stays fairly quiet. But if you put it in manual mode and turn it on high it gets loud. We only do this when we are leaving the house and then turn it back down when we get back. And have noticed a big difference in eliminating smells and pollen. We have a wood burning fireplace and love to use it. But who wants to smell it two days later? No one. We have noticed this smell is gone the next day now. And the wife's runny nose is always better at home thanks to this unit. This unit is good up to 1,000sqft so I keep it in the front of the house and it has been working well for us. And I recommend signing up to get auto refills on your filters to keep your air quality the best you can. If you are in the market for an air purifier this is the best one I have found for my household.

Hey Raul, sorry to hear about your overall experience, with any purifier it's always recommended to keep up with your daily dusting and cleaning in conjunction to using your air purifier as our air purifiers are designed to capture and breakdown particles that are suspended in the air. Anything settled on a surface will remain there, but opening a window also helps as it provides more air circulation to the device. Hope this was useful, let us know if there's more that we can do: [email protected]

This thing’s a beast! Twenty-three pounds of stylish air purification. The Molekule app was easy to navigate and synced immediately with the Air Pro. You have total control of the machine using the app, as well as being able to link up with the mother ship in order to subscribe for future filter replacements. Be forewarned that the cost is $99/year — but that’s a better price than I found at the time of this writing for trying to order individual filters by myself online. For kicks and giggles, I manually turned this beast up to the highest setting. It sounded like it was about to take off. It did take off…and flew around the room. No, it didn’t. That would be silly. C’mon, man! With the included and installed vegan leather handle, it’s easy to move from room to room, depending upon your needs. Currently, we have it set up in our family room. We’ll probably take it out to the dining/living room area after a couple weeks, and then off to the bedrooms. Does it work? It definitely filters the air, but I don’t own the diagnostic paraphernalia to prove that it does what it says it does. But I can tell you this — I haven’t been sneezing as much (we have cats). It also uses ultraviolet light to kill germs and viruses. This is science that I just have to believe. Once again, I can’t prove it. The Molekule Air Pro is one of the more solidly built items that I’ve acquired in a long time. It seems like it will last forever. If the Air Pro does what it claims it can do, it’s worth it. Especially for those with asthma and other breathing issues.

Don't waste your time or your money. The units actually make your air smell terrible. The story they tell you about the air filters needing to "off-gas" is a complete farce. The smell never goes away. The company just hopes that you will get used to it. Let alone the fact that the units don't help with VOC reduction whatsoever.

This air cleaner is a serious machine. It comes impressively packaged and easy to use right out of the box. I like the open chamber where you can clean out dust thoroughly within the whole drum. The fan part, that is the top piece, is not capable of opening up to keep that ultra clean, but regular maintenance (vacuuming surface dust) will hopefully prevent a major collection long term. I have 3 other air cleaner models/brands in my home that I've purchased over a 10 to 15 year period. All of them have dust collect inside and it drives me nuts that I change the filter, but the guts have dust stuck inside that I can't get to. The filter is heavy duty. The UV light runs if the fan is on. There is no way to stop the UV light. This is fine because I have this in my living room. For me, if I wanted this in my bedroom, it would get returned since the light can't shut off. I completely understand the point of the UV is for virus abatement etc. My main concern is dust though. Blue light in a bed room is not recommended due to melatonin interference. I did the call the company to see if there was a "dark mode" for this model and there is not. There is also an option to link the fan to an app on your phone. I downloaded the app and played with it for over 30 minutes to try to connect. I finally called tech support and it worked. They had to verify my email from their end first, then my machine was able to link up. The app lets you control the fan with ease. My app didn't recognize my Air Pro as an Air Pro. It classified it as an Air Mini. The second time I called tech support (about the dark mode question), I mentioned that my app didn't have the correct model in the description. The rep changed it on her end for me. This is important to get right especially if you sign up for auto ship filters. I asked if it would have auto shipped the wrong one if I had not spoken up, she said it would have. The other issue with the app is that it asked for permissions to my photos, media etc. I have since uninstalled the app after trying it out because I didn't find a lot of use for it, and I didn't feel it necessary to have access to areas of my phone that it probably didn't truly need. The no - dark mode and app that needs tweaking is the reason for 4 stars. This machine is high end and very well made. If you worry more for dust/allergens only, this is overkill. For dust, allergen, and germ/virus concerns, I think it's great given the current pandemic and for annual cold and flu season. The filters are $99 and recommended to be changed every 6 months.

    Way Too Expensive

I've had Molekule for 3 years and it has worked great. However, the pros of owning this purifier don't outweigh the cons. Cons: 1) Very difficult to connect to wifi. I cringed everytime the unit disconnected because it took way too much time to reconnect. 2) The unit is very expensive. I paid $1200. The filters, which need to be replaced about every 4 months, are ridiculously overpriced at $169. Trying to save money, I recently purchased an after market filter since it was half the price. This was a big mistake! When the Molekule Pro detects the after market filter it sends out an error and the shuts down. Since then I can't get the unit to power on. I contacted Molekule and because the unit is no longer under warranty, the only thing they offered was for me to send my unit to them and they would sell me a refurbished unit at a 20% discount from the new price. So I get nothing for my unit and pay them another one $960 for a refurbished unit and $500/yr for filters. I can buy another top rated air purifier for what a Molekule filter costs with a $50 filter replacement. A no brainer, I wish I knew before wasting so much money!

    Large, Loud, Expensive, but Effective

The Molekule Air Pro Purifier is a beast in a number of ways. First, it has quite a large footprint. Standing several feet tall and with a diameter of about a foot, it can't really be hidden in a room. But it is aesthetically pleasing to look at so doesn't look out of place in a large room. Secondly, when the purifier is on top speed (level 6), it is a jet engine, It is so very loud. As it spins up, it truly does sound like a jet engine spinning up. Luckily, when on auto and the air is clean, it is very quiet. Only when it detects particles or contaminants in air, it spins up loudly to quickly clean the air. And clean the air it does. The Air Pro can quickly remove smells from a room (bacon, dirty diapers, etc.) making the air smell fresh again. With the PECO air purification technology, the Air Pro destroys VOCs, bacteria, mold, viruses, allergens, and more instead of just trapping the airborne particles. It really is amazing how quickly the purifier cleans the air. Setup is relatively easy, though it took me two tries to get it setup properly and the phone app makes controlling the machine and viewing your air quality easy. For the price of the device, I did expect the app to have much more functionality like recording the air quality over time, reporting the outdoor air quality, etc. It's a very basic, and I mean basic, app. Replacement filters (recommended replacement every 6 months) run at $150 each. That's an additional $300 a year to keep the machine working at its optimal performance. The PECO technology built into the filters truly drives up the cost of replacements. Overall, the Molekule Air Pro purifier is a great air purifier (the best I've tried), but with the large up front cost and yearly cost for filters, it is very hard to recommend this machine. if you want the cleanest air in your home no matter the cost, this machine is for you. Otherwise, it is difficult to justify the large expense.

Molekule Air Pro for your health

I have wanted an air purifier for some time due to my asthma and after the many recent wild fires! Hoping to remove smoke, dust, pollen and other seasonal pollutants from the air inside the house. I came across the Molekule line of air purifiers and after reading about them, I decided this was a quality line of products. I decided to go for the Air Pro because it says it covers 1000sq ft. This seems very sturdy and well made and was packed very professionally... It even includes a storage bag and 1 filter. Easy to set up with the Molekule app downloaded and connected to my WiFi. It turned on and I was ready to purify. This purifier uses a PECO filtration system which is supposedly activated by light to break pollutants down to their molecular components vs a HEPA filter which removes pollutants using a series of filters. The PECO filter needs to be replaced about every 6 months or when the purifier lets you know it's time. Each filter costs about $79-$99 each, but is cheaper if you sign up for their auto-refill program. It says to set the purifier away from corners, walls, furniture - basically in an open space and set it to run 24/7. I did just that. And I set it to auto so it would automatically adjust the fan speed as necessary. Everytime I checked, my air was quality was rated as Good. And everyday, I checked my filter useage and it went down 1%. That is 1% per day. At that rate, the filter would need to be replaced every 100 days - that's quite an expense! Does it purify the air? Aside from the Molekule telling me it did, I also felt it was cleaning the air. It so happens that I got a new rug and furniture which had their own unique odors. It did seem within 24 hours the smell was substantially less and the air did seem fresh. This seems quite expensive to maintain, with instructions not to wash the filter. Replacing it 3-4 times/year will be costly. How much is my health worth? How much is yours worth??

I suffer from bad seasonal allergies and it's been a rough fall season so far. I had read about Molekule and their distinctive approach to air purification and was eager to give the Pro model a try because of its expanded features over the regular model. I have been using my Molekule Pro for about 2 weeks so far and it appears to working quite well. My sneezing has noticeably lessened since I first switched it on. The Molekule Pro arrived in a sturdy box and unpacking was surprisingly easy and enjoyable. Simple set up instructions are the first thing you see and the unit is inside a nice canvas-style bag with handles for easy lifting. I downloaded the Molekule app and set up took very little time. You just have to enter a code into the app that is displayed on the unit's circular screen and the connection was secured. The app offers basic services like auto/manual cleaning modes and PECO filter life. You can select a "standard" auto function or a "quiet" mode which doesn't raise the fan speed to loud levels. It also has a manual mode with allows many levels of fan speed and at full speed, this unit is LOUD! It does process a ton of air as well which is nice compared to the original model which doesn't offer all these options. This unit it made for 1000 square feet spaces which is really nice. Auto modes are directed by the Pro unit's built in PM sensors to measure the particles in the air, which is a laser reader at the base of the unit. The PM reader is actually 3 PM readers. Instead of the typical PM 2.5 sensor found on most air purifiers, the Pro model also has both PM 10 (larger particles) and PM 1.0 (very small particles). Thats a nice addition and allows the auto clean function to be even more effective. The Pro unit is extremely high quality, sleek and modern. It's made of brushed aluminum, plastic and a built-in leather(Vegan) carrying handle which is very similar to the regular model, but it's a bit larger. It's still a good size and not too big. The power cord is wound around a built in cord holder under the unit. There is a circular touch screen built into the top and it offers several function/info screens. One screen shows the general air quality, one for detailed PM sensor measurements, one to run the auto/manual modes, one for PECO filter life and one for general settings. You just swipe left or right through them. The screen can be a little finicky and swiping isn't always registered. Inside is the cylindrical PECO filter and UV-A light which work together to clean the air. The UV light activates a catalytic reaction on the PECO filter surface which then breaks down particles at the molecular level. It does not use HEPA filters like most other systems. It can break down larger particles like dust all the way down to microscopic particles like viruses. Apparently is can destroy smaller particles than any other air purification system. I obviously can't prove that but trust their research. I know there has been a bunch of controversy over their claims but their research and testing seems very sound. You can sign up for auto filter replacements at a significant discount and they send a new PECO filter every six months. I'm all set for filters now. After setting the Molekule Pro, it's been nothing but smooth sailing. To be honest, not much has happened but I have noticed the air feeling fresher. As I mentioned, my sneezing has definitely been reduced and I'm super pleased about that. It's become an invisible item in my living room now and I like that as well. So far, I can say it has been an effective and elegant addition to my home.
