Customers are satisfied with the screen quality of the Monduo 14" LED Monitor. However, a significant portion of feedback points to the monitor's considerable weight as a drawback. Some users found it difficult to move around due to its heft. The weight is a major consideration for potential buyers.

I've been looking at addition monitors to plug in since 2020, as I now work remotely from home. Pricing and reviews for the single monitors were all over the place, and I just didn't like the Idea and having a small 2nd monitor that I would only use when I have to expense reports and need to see 2 screens at the same time. When I saw this dual monitor setup, I went from "additional work specific monitor" to "I can have 3 monitors ALL THE TIME??" My current setup is left monitor Outlook, center (laptop touchscreen) is discord/Firefox/working items, and right is MS Teams and my patio camera to watch my visiting squirrels. The best case scenario is if you have a laptop with 2 USB-C ports. Having to use the HDMI and an additional USB for power is a pain, I had to do that for my Asus gaming laptop, but not for my Surface Laptop Studio, which I use it on now all the time. The biggest problem though, the SLS only has 2 USB-C ports, so I am unable to connect my external backup drive while using the monitor. I usually remove the monitors at the end of the work day, so I can back up after, but I would've preferred to have it connected all the time. I cannot express just how much this additional dual monitors really make a huge difference - it additionally forces me to keep my coffee table space free (where I am normally working from), but the additional space makes everything much easier. Now the TV/AppleTV remotes live in front of the right screen and my glasses/drink live on the left with a lot of space that includes my iPad. There is an additional use case for this! I can technically plug in my PS5 into either of these monitors, which also means if you have another device, like a Nintendo Switch/DVD player, you can assign one of the screens to that device without having it affect performance on your laptop. Example, you can Remote Play PS5 games on your laptop, but you're going to do it through Wi-Fi/internal network and are using your computer's resources. However, if you plug the PS5 directly into one of the monitors, your laptop is working on 2 screens but not any additional program/resources are needed while you play/watch a movie on the 3rd screen. I have been using the additional screens for a couple of weeks now. One of my minor issues is they are not touch screens (my laptop is) - I do realize if they were, the price would most likely be double, so it's just a minor inconvenience to not to be able to tap anything quickly while working with them. The other seemingly minor issue is the right monitor's lower right hand corner has been flashing something that I’m not fully seeing as it's on the corner of my eye. It started happening 5 days in, but only lasted 3 days. I have not seen it since, I'm not sure what caused it, and hopefully it isn't indicative of an upcoming problem, but I'm writing this now because I'll forgot about this in a month. Pros: relatively light weight Folds in and out nicely/easily, if you remember which side to put in! Hinges are strong and can hold the monitors at the angle I need Plug in Play with just 2 cables (if your laptop supports it at least!) Monitors do not necessarily need to be plugged into same source Each side has either USB-C or HDMI for use Cons: Hard to tell which side to fold in first when putting it away, I'll eventually figure it out and remember! For laptops without 2 USB-C, it gets annoying to use extra cables - this isn't THEIR fault, this is your laptop's manufacturer’s fault Takes 2 USB-C ports, which depending on your laptop, you may not be able to plug anything else in - like Surface Laptop Studios Little worried about right monitor's glitching that occurred for 3 days, but hasn't since. Unknown how much this will wear down my laptop, powering 2 additional monitors and basically requiring me to keep the laptop charger plugged in all the time, which I don't like doing normally. In closing, if you work from home this dual monitor setup is much needed to give you a lot more desktop space/windows to work from. If you're in a college dorm room without a TV, either of these can act as your TV!

I've been using these monitors for a little while now and they are overall great. I have a multi-monitor setup on my desktop at my desk and switching to the laptop has always been less productive for me because of the single screen but with this setup they are about equal. The monitors came in a very sturdy and nicely packaged box and were easy to open up. They include 2 USB-C display cables (1 long, 1 short, honestly every monitor I tested I'd only need 2 shorts), 1 HDMI cable with an additional USB-C power cable. So with this setup you need at least 2 USB-C ports on your laptop, even if you use HDMI you'll need one to power the monitor. The disclaimer to this is I was able to power the monitor with a USB-C wall plug like I used to charge the laptop but that's not as convenient. This monitor has pass-through power so if you do use all your USB-C ports to plug in the monitors you can still charge by plugging in the power cord to the monitors and it will feed power back to the laptop. This is nice because the monitors do definitely drain the laptop battery much quicker if you're not plugged in. I was also able to plug in a power bank to the monitors but it wasn't able to keep up with power drain, just slow it down. So it was definitely helpful but you'd need to start with a charged laptop if you're not going to be by a plug for a while. The only thing I wish these monitors had was the internal USB-C multi-monitor support. I believe the protocols for USB-C support this, and it might be that most laptops don't provide that but it would be really convenient to just plug in 1 USB-C cord and power both monitors internally. But this would just be a convenience thing and plugging in a second USB-C cord isn't bad at all. When it comes to physical, the monitors are very solid. I had someone whose used a number of laptop multi-monitor setups look at it for a bit and they said these are much more solid and secure than everything they've used before provided by their job. He said he would trust these to last, apparently unlike all the units he's used before. The color and brightness on the monitors is great. They match my screen brightness very nicely and the adjustments are easy and quick if you don't like the stock settings. The kickstand helps a lot to stablize the monitors depending on what angle you have them at because I did find them heavy enough to move the laptop screen if that's all the is supporting them. The unit folds up great and compact. They also have a carrying pouch you can purchase to store them when not on the laptop and I would highly recommend getting that or something similar to keep them padded while traveling. The installation of them is easy once you do it a few times. I mainly used them on my 14" Dell Inspiron from a few years ago and they fit perfectly. the middle of the monitors slides open to adjust it's width and I found that I can actually fit it on my Dell and HP 15.6" laptops also I you carefully pull it open all the way. If I was mainly using it on those laptops I'd recommend the 16" model but it's nice knowing I can use the 14" monitors on those laptops if the need arises. Overall I would highly recommend these monitors if you are used to a multi-screen setup. They save a lot of hassle and space from plugging into full-size monitors and are easy to transport with you. I can see myself using these monitors a lot and them making my days much quicker and more productive while away from my desk.

The Monduo Monitor is the best invention ever! I have a MacBook Pro and connect daily to a dual monitor setup for my full-time job. I must have 3 screens to work with while I review detailed documents and merge files. With the Monduo Monitor, I can work from anywhere. It’s difficult for me to travel and work from a remote location when additional monitors are not available. With the Monduo Monitor, I can quickly and easily set up shop and conduct business as usual with my 3 monitors. The Monduo Monitor is a bit heavy (nearly 4 lbs.) so it will weigh down your backpack with a laptop, too. I intend to use my small, wheeled carry-on briefcase to prevent excess weight on my shoulders through the airport. The Monduo Monitors fold out and slip over the laptop screen for a snug and secure fit. The center backing has a little “kickstand” that can be adjusted to the desired tilt of the laptop. The kickstand moves easily and can be adjusted, but it’s strong enough and stays put where needed. The side monitors open and close easily, and they stay put in the desired position. The only downfall to the Monduo Monitors is that the monitors simply open and close; they cannot be angled up or down. This could be a bit awkward depending on the angle of the laptop monitor. There are far more benefits to having the monitors than this minor detail. Once the monitors are in place, a simple plug into the USB-C port from each of the monitors into the laptop will power on the monitors. There is also an HDMI cord if needed for the laptop. Setup is super easy to arrange the screens of the additional monitors. The documents from each screen move easily to the other. My MacBook battery drains more rapidly while the monitors are plugged in and in use. Thankfully, the charging port to my Mac is easily accessible so I can use all ports of my Mac at the same time. With my Mac plugged in, it’s a battery non-issue to use the Monduo Monitor.I can work from the kitchen table, in the living room, and from my backyard patio. The screens have more of a glare than my laptop monitor, so working outdoors in the bright sun was a little distracting, but it’s still nice to get some fresh air while working on a beautiful day! Overall, I’m glad this product exists and will enjoy using the Monduo Monitor while traveling and working remotely. The Monduo Monitor also works great while lounging on the couch and working on some video editing on the weekends. Surprisingly, the excess weight in my lap from the monitors is still comfortable.

    Expansive displays

These displays works beautifully, although with some important considerations. The displays are high quality IPS type, 2560 x 1600 pixels in a 16:10 format, with a glass screen. These are two totally independent displays tied together in an aluminum case. These are bright (500 nits) and fast with an advertised 3ms response time (These are not HDR panels however). Each panel has two USB-C and one HDMI connector. My main concern is that these are heavy, at over 4 pounds, these are much heavier than the laptop attached to them. So it doesn't cause undue pressure on the hinges, the center piece has a built-in pedestal. This is really necessary otherwise the whole thing falls down. The center of these displays extend as necessary and has enough force to close tightly. There are some soft plastic clips on the sides that hold onto the screen to it stays with the screen, and then one has to use the integrated pedestal on the back of the middle piece. This works very well, and it's an excellent design, with the exception that it's quite heavy. On each side there are two USB-C ports and one Mini-HDMI. The connectors are on the center piece which makes it more stable. It comes with one short USB-C cable, one longer USB-C cable, one mini-HDMI to HDMI cable, and one thinner USB-C cable that's for charging only. Ideally the laptop should have at least two USB-C ports with video output (Or Thunderbolt). If it has one of these ports, one of the monitors need to use the HDMI port, and a power source. If the laptop has two USB-C ports but needs to be charged, one can also connect the USB-C power to one of the monitors and it supports USB-C PD to power the laptop as well. There are no physical controls on the monitors, so no power nor brightness adjustments. It all has to be done from the computer. In Windows, this can be done from the display settings, selecting each monitor and adjusting the resolution, scaling and brightness. There is an optional Monduo application for Windows but it doesn't do much. It does help coordinating brightness. On macOS. It also doesn't need a display, but needs an application that can control the brightness for the display. There's a Monduo app that should be downloaded. They call it a driver but it's not really a driver as these monitors are plug and play, and are standard, independent displays. The app is a custom version of BetterDisplay, and it does a great job of adjusting the resolution, scaling and brightness. It works quite well and matches closely the brightness on the Macbook. So far, I used it on a MacBook Pro M1, MacBook Pro M3 and on a current-gen Asus Zenbook, all of which have Thunderbolt ports. The ZenBook has a 14" display so it looks more even than on the MacBook Pro that has a slightly taller screen. Overall, they work great, with the caveat that are quite heavy, so ideally this should be used when I'd need to work from an alternate desk or instead of getting external displays, not something I want to carry around when working from a coffee shop.

I use this with my 14” 2021 MacBook Pro M1, which can support multiple monitors. You should check if your laptop is capable of that before purchasing this, as some can only support a single external monitor. PROs - Visually it fits seamlessly with the MacBook. The back side is aluminum and matches nicely to the MacBook. The front side is a glass panel. - To attach the Monduo screens to your laptop, you simply unfold the two monitors and slide the extendable middle panel over the laptop’s display. The Monduo stays attached via a spring in the middle panel. No adhesive is used and nothing is permanently affixed to the laptop. I use a laptop cover and the Monduo had no problem staying mounted. - It’s best to install the Monduo app for Mac OS which gives it a seamless configuration with the MacBook. The entire setup takes less than a minute and the screens are automatically recognized by the MacBook and arranged in the right order. The app also synchronizes the screens to the MacBook’s display for resolution and controls. That means when you using the brightness controls on your keyboard, all three screens react. - The Monduo is USB-C powered by plugging the screens into the MacBook ports. There’s also an extra USB-C port on the middle panel that serves as a 100 watt pass-through power port. That means you can charge your laptop while using the screens. - Because the Monduo is plugged into my MacBook, these screens work better than using an iPad as a second screen via Sidecar. For one, power is not an issue, especially as the screens do no computing. And second, response is instant – there are no timeouts or lost connections. - The LED screens are quite bright with excellent color, sharpness, and smooth 144 hertz refresh. Though the software utility tries to sync their output to the MacBook’s, they always seem to run brighter than the MacBook’s display. CONs - The spring that holds the screens snuggly to the laptop is fairly tight. It takes a while to get used to the amount of force needed to pull it apart in order to put on, take off, or store the screens. Initially, I was worried about damaging the screens, but they seem sturdy enough to deal with the force. Hopefully, the springs will stay firm and not loosen over time. - One interesting feature is missing with this release (at least for Mac OS). You can’t use the two displays as an expansion of the MacBook’s display and create a single ultra-wide monitor where application windows span across all three screens. Instead, windows are clipped at the border of each screen. This feature would be great for immersive gaming or even spreadsheets to let you see more columns without scrolling. Tech support says this feature is coming. - When you plug the screens into the laptop ports, an on-screen display (OSD) appears on both screens with configuration menus. But there’s no way to interact with the OSD menus and they simply disappear after a few seconds. Fortunately, the utility has all the settings anyway. But it is a bit confusing why an OSD menu exists. - There’s no way to fold one of the screens out of the way. You can unplug one side if you don’t need it, but physically it will still be there as you can’t flip it backwards, for example, to save space. So if you’re planning to use this at your favorite cafe, it will have the “wingspan” of three screens. Other - Your laptop battery will drain faster since your laptop has to power the screens. How much it drains will depend on your laptop. It’s actually not that bad on my MacBook with its M1 chip. I can still get a few hours with the screens without having to plug it in. - For my use, the additional screen real estate makes tackling spreadsheets especially more efficient. It does take a while, however, to become accustomed to just how much physical space the screens take. My cup of coffee, for example, has to be put further away from my reach. And now more objects fall out of view behind each of the screens instead of just behind my laptop display. Overall I give this 4.5 stars, taking off half a star because I think the way it attaches, detaches, and folds could be improved. But it’s otherwise a great way to add external screens to your laptop.

The Monduo 14" LED monitor has been a game changer for my work laptop and productivity. Out of the box I unloaded the tri-screen IPS LED 14" monitor, a HDMI cable, a USB-C to USB-C power cable, a shorter USB-C to USB-C cable, and a longer USB-C to USB-C cable. These cables allow the screens to display with different input setups that are found with laptops, as not all USB-C ports are compatible with displays. One of my initial questions was how much this setup would weigh, and it comes in at just over 4 pounds. The screens are glass, but I was struck by how sturdy they felt in their housing. My laptop allowed for a pretty simple setup of the monitor. I used the spring clips to attach the screens, and this held them firmly. There is also a useful kickstand in the back that can be opened to provide more support to the monitor. I plugged the monitor into the laptop using HDMI on one side and USB-C on the other. My laptop is Windows, so all I had to do was go into Display Settings, let Windows identify the screens, and then extend the desktop. The Monduo monitor does have an On-screen display menu that allowed me to customize brightness (up to 500 Nits), contrast, sharpness, gamma, aspect ratio, HDR on/off, DCR on/off, color options, and language. The monitor does have a refresh rate of 144Hz and has a response time of up to 3ms. I have used a separate monitor before with my work setup, but with limited desk space it became a bad arrangement and I stopped using it. With the Monduo, I was able to return to having extra screens and it has made a huge difference for me. I can have multiple applications open at the same time at full size without having to constantly be minimizing windows and maximizing windows. Because the screens are all right beside each other, my eyes don't have to travel unnaturally to see information. I look forward to exploring the functionality in a gaming setup with my gaming laptop to see how that feels. The Monduo 14" monitor simply works as I hoped it would. I would recommend it for anyone wishing they had a couple more screens to go with their laptop.

One of the biggest challenges to working from home or while traveling is the limited screen size of the most portable laptops. The larger the screen, generally the larger (and heavier) the computer. I’m satisfied with the 14-inch screen of my MacBook Pro M1 for light computing, but any serious work really necessitates a larger external monitor — not something I usually have on hand while traveling. As the cheeky name implies, the Monduo offers not one but two external monitors in probably the most unique package on the market. It rests gently on the back of your laptop screen and offers a swing-out 14-inch display on either side of your machine. With a few minutes time and two USB-C cables you’ll have a trim-screen setup for all your WFH needs. The Monduo is well-packaged in premium trimmings, matching its price point. The box opens up like a window in the same way the Monduo opens, a nice touch that makes unboxing a bit more special. While it’s nestled in the box securely Monduo has used lots of foam glued tightly to the box itself, with plenty of plastic wrap, too. With many companies nearly or completely eliminating plastic in their packaging I’d hope Monduo would do the same. It was difficult to recycle and most of the packaging ended up in the trash. The Monduo unit itself is a hefty thing, all aluminum and glass. Right off the bat I noticed how heavy and bulky it is even when folded up. It looks and feels very well made and gives off a premium aura. No part of the Monduo feels cheap, that’s for sure. The included cables are plain black but feel durable and as if they’ll withstand much travel and use. Altogether the Monduo gives off strong Apple vibes, which I’m sure is no accident. It’s a premium product and it certainly looks and feels appropriate for the price. The Apple vibes continued as I unfolded the Monduo and hooked it up. It was apparent from the start that Monduo really benchmarked the MacBook Pro with this device. The Monduo monitors line up nearly perfectly with the 14-inch display of the MacBook Pro and everything seems intended to coordinate perfectly with Apple’s computers. Setup is in theory straightforward, and connecting everything via USB-C is very easy, but the Monduo’s size and weight make everything a little difficult. Once unfolded the Monduo is pretty unwieldy — it’s more than 3 feet wide — and you feel every ounce of the glass-and-aluminum construction. You have to pull the middle section apart to fit it over your laptop’s display and balance it a bit precariously on the top lip of your laptop’s monitor while you adjust the width and flip down the small, stiff kickstand. Everything is pretty wobbly until you get that kickstand into place; the weight of the Monduo will pull your laptop right over. Once you have the kickstand down it holds things in place pretty securely — it’s just getting to that point that’s a little precarious. After you’ve gotten the Monduo in place you’re presented with a very, very wide situation, and one that due to its weight and the small kickstand is not easily moved. The entire setup takes up my whole kitchen table. Thankfully the Monduo needs only two USB-C cables (one for each monitor) for power and video which reduces clutter. The displays are powered by your laptop in this configuration and they eat through battery, so make sure you bring your power adapter and find an outlet if you’re going to be working for a while. And trust me, you don’t want to be moving things around once you’ve got them set up. The Monduo displays jumped right to life once plugged in and my M1 MacBook Pro had no trouble driving both external displays as well as the internal display at the same time. This does take a fair amount of power, though, so do your homework and make sure whatever computer you’re going to use these with has enough juice. While things looked pretty good in their default state I downloaded Monduo’s Mac app, which lives in the menu bar and syncs both external displays with your internal display settings automatically. With the app active I was able to change the brightness of all three displays using the keyboard shortcuts, which is great. The Monduo displays are both high resolution and high refresh rate panels, and with the Monduo app syncing all my settings they looked awesome next to the built-in display. I’m pretty picky when it comes to color and resolution and I have to say Monduo has done an excellent job here. Again, Apple seems to be the benchmark here, as the displays are very, very close in appearance to my MacBook Pro’s built-in screen. They’re not exactly the same but Monduo really did a great job with the color, brightness and overall sharpness here. If you’re particular with your computer monitors you should be very pleased with the quality here. Going from one screen to three is a productivity boon, to be sure, but the Monduo’s design necessitates compromises. Because the Monduo balances on the back of your laptop scree and puts both monitors immediately to each side of your laptop, you have to have everything set up on a wide, flat, stable surface. The monitors are at the same height as your laptop which means hunching over to use them the same way you’d hunch over to use your laptop at a table, something a tall person like me finds irritating after more than a few minutes. I also found myself wanting to push the entire setup back a few feet so I wasn’t overwhelmed with three screens right in my face, but then I couldn’t reach the keyboard or touchpad comfortably. I could use an external mouse/keyboard setup but at that point I may as well plug into my regular desk setup. I had hoped to be able to use the Monduo in conjunction with a laptop stand so that the setup could be more at my eye level, but the weight of the Monduo makes that a non-starter. You have to have the kickstand down on a flat surface that can support the significant weight of the laptop and the screens and short of a stack of large encyclopedias I don’t know what would do that well. Even with three lovely monitors to look at I still had the same ergonomic challenges as using any laptop flat on a table with no riser. For me, it’s not conducive to long work sessions. So if it’s not my daily WFH setup, could the Monduo work for travel? Technically yes, but I don’t plan on packing it unless I know I have something to work on that I really need multiple displays for. The Monduo is heavy, bulky and cumbersome, whether folded or unfolded. It’s many times thicker and heavier than my MacBook Pro, and beyond what I would call portable. Overall, the Monduo is a premium product that does what it intends to do: give you two external monitors on either side of your laptop. The displays are high-quality, bright and crisp, and sync really well with an Apple machine. USB-C means everything plugs in easily (with HDMI as a backup) and everything is assembled beautifully and at a high-quality level. That being said, the Monduo is heavy, awkward to set up and put away, and requires a large, flat surface area to work. It’s too heavy to hang from your machine without the kickstand, so the displays remain at the same height as your laptop, for better or worse. If these limitations don’t bother you, the Monduo offers impressive specs, performance and build quality, but I’d say most people should consider other options before purchasing.

I had the opportunity to try this out and i am amazed by how great it is. If you need a multi screen setup this is great if you don't need a bigger screen option. You get two more displays that connect basically side by side of your main display which means its great for semi portable setup. You won't be using this on a train ride or something but if you want to go to the cafe or something with it then it is portable enough to use it. Comes inside the box: The device itself 1 USB C to USB C short cable 1USB C to USB C long cable 1 USB C to USB C cable for power only 1 USB C to HDMI cable I used it on my Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 13.8 and my Macbook pro 14 inch. The panels on this are glass QHD resolution, 14 inch, 144hz refresh, 500 nits of peak brightness, 100% of DCI P3 color space , IPS, and low latency of 3 ms. You also need to download an app to use it with your laptop and they have one for windows and Mac as well.It helps sync your brightness levels to your main display if you want along with other features. As far as using it as an display I find it a tad darker then the display on my Macbook pro but it is good still. I wish it got a tad higher brightness to be the same as my Macbook.

Let's start with what I like about this dual monitor product. For one, the finishes on it are great! The aluminum body looks sleek and the screens are crystal clear and vibrant. There were zero dead pixels and zero scuffs on the screen or the casing. Set up was extremely easy, all I had to do was slide it onto my laptop and plug it in using all the included cables. Keeping in mind that I use a Windows laptop; I had to fix the screen orientation and tweak a couple of the settings for it to look good and match up seamlessly. It was rather simple but definitely worth mentioning. I know this is supposed to go in tandem with a 14-inch computer, however, I would like to add that it fits my 15-inch computer nearly perfectly. The difference between the screens was minimal and I really enjoyed it. Now, onto my not-so-favorite things about this product. It is heavy so if you plan to move your laptop around after you put this on, it's going to be difficult. It does have a kickstand on the back of it to support the weight, but I don't like how heavy it feels, especially when you take the laptop hinges into consideration. It does fold into itself for storage and travel but it's difficult to do so and it seems like an easy thing to mess up or break if you're not careful. If you need more screen real estate I can see this being a great option. The design is beautiful and you can bring it with you wherever you go, however, I don't think this one is for me.

I would recommend this to a friend

The Monduo 14" LED monitor is a high quality dual monitor addition to your laptop that can help you vastly increase your productivity without taking up too much desk real estate. I have always looked for an option to add extra displays to my macbook pro without having to set up 2 additional monitors in my office. Once I saw the Monduo !4" LED dual display monitor add on I knew I had to have it. As soon as you open the box you can see that Monduo did not cheap out on the quality of material it used in consructing the monitors. The monitor is constructed with a high quality aluminum housing with glass screens that scream apple quality. In the box you will find a HDMI cable a power cable and 2 USB cables of different lengths. The setup with my M@ powered MacBook Pro was quite easy. Keppp in mind that since Monduo spared nothing when it comes to quality the monitor is quite heavy. You must remember to unfold the kickstand in order to support the weight of the monitor or it will easily pull your laptop backwards. As soon as I plugged both screens into my MacBook via the USB c ports they fired up and looked beautiful. The monitor offer a 2K resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate that looks as good as my MacBook screen. I would definitely recommend downloading the drivers to your laptop as initially had directional issues dragging things across the screens. Once I downloaded and installed the driver packets everything worked as intended. I instantly was able to get more work done without having to toggle between screens on my laptop. Once your are done using the monitors you can simply fold them up and store them in a padded laptop case which should protect them during transport. Overall if you are looking for a sleek , elegant high quality option to add monitors to you laptop home set up then look no further than Monduo
