Customers are saying

Customers are impressed with Monster Hunter Rise's engaging gameplay, ease of use, and the variety of monsters. Many found the new movement options and overall performance to be excellent, praising its accessibility for newcomers while still offering a substantial amount of content. However, some players felt the game lacked challenge compared to previous entries and that the world size was smaller than in other titles. Despite this, the positive feedback on the improved accessibility and enjoyable features outweighs the negative comments.

I started the series on Monster hunter world and was immediately hooked. Rise to me is just as great and I love that I can play it anywhere either laying in bed or moving to a different room. As a switch game it looks fantastic and loads pretty fast.

Great game with a ton of things to do, and online multiplayer is great. This is probably the easiest monster hunter title for new players to get into.

This title brings things back to the older titles after World. It goes back to the less story focused, smaller world experience. It adds slew of new moves, mechanics and modes. The wirebug system really adds another dimension of verticality of the game as well as new moves to existing weapons. Wyvern riding adds a new aspect to mounting mechanic, and it is quite alot of fun. It is definitely not as expansive in scope as World, but the game's core mechanics are still really amazing, and I highly recommend it to MH fans

This is a 100% must buy for anyone already a fan of the series. Newcomers to the series will fall in love and play older games in the series because this game is so good. Capcom hit it out of the park with this game. It’s the best looking 3rd party game on the system. I’m amazed every time I play and think how amazing this game looks and plays on a handheld. You must own this game. You’ll get at least 100 hours of gameplay from this title. Through your single player story missions to your online multiplayer hunts, there’s so much content in this game with lots of free content coming soon.

Probably the best non-Ultimate edition in the franchise. People expecting World's time gated FOMO events may be disappointed though.

First time in a while I played a game daily for long periods of time enjoying every second. So many quality of life changes will make it hard for me to go back to previous games in this series. Love the quick loading into quests, able to loot from your Palamute, Wirebugs (!), ease of traversing/using different spots in the main village, quick loading for multiplayer games and so on. This game is great fun and a joy to play with my friends online and don't even need to use voice chat (so far, only in HR 4).

The Monster Hunter series Has always been held back by The fact that it was always more difficult for accessibility. Now that it is on the nintendo switch Now that it is on the nintendo switch Play ability of the game rises tremendously! This game is a great interpoint for people who are getting to know the Monster Hunter series as is the closest that has been to its original format since generations ultimate. You enjoy the games beautiful graphics and scenery as a result of the re engine! Enjoy!

The game is definitely amazing. You do not need to get the deluxe edition if you do not want the extra set or poses. Otherwise, Monster Hunter Rise is a great game. There is a lot of information for a newcomer, but is definitely fun to play with for multiplayer. This was my first time in this franchise and absolutely a buy. Free DLC expansion is on the way later this month and for the next year. If you are not interested on switch, there will be a PC release for 2022.

As a long-time fan of the franchise I pre-ordered after the first few trailers. Well worth the cost and wait, even if the grind for certain things gets a bit tedious now and then, and while solo story isn't yet finished (will not be applicable come May 2021), the promise of new content means it'll be something to come back to regularly. The main downside in my opinion is that online multiplayer is locked behind Nintendo's Switch Online subscription.

I've been a huge fan of the series since the 3DS days and was into World but this game takes the best of the old games and brings new, refreshing elements into play. Brilliant game, definitely my favorite MH game to date. You won't regret it. I will say that the deluxe edition layered armor might really not be worth the extra $$. I think the Magnamalo amiibo layered armor is definitely worth it if you could purchase that instead.

The game's combat is amazing but the game is lacking in difficulty and amount of monsters. Most are quite easy and it feels like there should be more. The rampage mode is also quite disappointing as it feels entirely on rails and the same every time and it also seems impossible to fail. Unfortunately this is the best way to grind hunter rank which you're going to need to do to fight some of the cooler monsters late in the game. Pretty weird that the entire point of the game is grinding but it gets to a point where it forces you to grind to fight the newer monsters even though there's no reason for you to grind at that point as you likely already have a completed build. Still, the combat is very fun.

As a monster hunter fan who owns Monster Hunter Ultimate 4 and Generations I had to purchase this game. Gameplay involves hunting giant monsters with online multiple player or single player quests. New palamute is fun which is giant ridable dog. Pros: Fun Japanese village aesthetic, lots of weapons to collect. Online multiplayer is fun. Instead of creating hubs players can join ongoing quests. Layered armor and character creation. Cons: Not much content compared to previous monster hunter games. Old games had 200+ gameplay this one was about 80. Roster of monsters feels small. Ongoing updates to the DLC store to purchase a bunch of silly costumes. Game takes place in a small village no traveling to other towns. Overall: Its a fun game to play occasionally. Feels like a step backward due to lack of content, monsters, and quests.
