My only real knock is that these games can be a little hard to get into for first time players. However, if you liked Monster Hunter World then you're going to love this game you can play on the road.

If you love Monster Hunter then buy this. It has new gameplay mechanics and it does take a little getting used too. But, it becomes really simple once you get the hang of it. It’s going to be very interesting to see what they do next with the series when it comes to the next gen.

Good Game

Its good and the dlc's are plenty. I've completed 3 missions and all the training even though I'm familiar with monster hunter. To newcomers there is a steep learning curve but once you've grasped the game it gets fun. I had retrain my brain from MHGU since it's controls are slightly different.

Base/HR Game Finally Complete after Update 3.0

This is a high rank game, which means thr G rank/Master Rank expansion will be coming at some point. With the recent 2.0 and 3.0 update, the base game is finally complete and I would say it now justifies the $60 price tag. I am glad the devs decided to let players have layered armor sets this early and not have to wait for G/M Rank expansion. The wirebug mechanics (traversal and weapon skills) are an awesome addition, IMO. If you've been playing MH for several years, you might get bored once you hit end/post game. Although, you will still spend a clean 80-100 hours to do so if not more. However, if youre fairly new to the franchise or completely new, then prepare to sink in hundreds if not thousands of hours.
