As a first time Monster Hunter I think this has been a great introduction to the series. I'm really hyped to play Monster Hunter World but I'm really glad I delved into this little gem first.

Though I don't really enjoy the core Monster Hunter games, I do enjoy the JRPG genre as a whole. And this one feels like a classic Pokemon-style RPG with a MH skin - and it works!

Lets be honest, I splurged on this on a B1G1 50% off sale. I haven't played it yet, my back catalog is a mile long I'm doing this for the free MBBR Points. I'm such a terrible person.

Stories is a monster hunter rpg, another story differ from the original game. Form your party through your favorite monsters and travel the world and learn what it means to be a rider in monster hunter. So far story is good, actions are responsive, sounds and music are good. It’s the gathering different monster eggs and hatching them especially when they are rare to super rare monsties that takes quite the hours.

This is one of the most surprising games of the 2017 3DS Generation. It's emotional and light hearted with a visual style that is timeless. I highly recommend this game to RPG fans.

    Monster Collecting Alternative

Collect monsters and train them for battles... Sound familiar? If you enjoy that other series, this is an excellent alternative. Carries a lot of the customization over from the main stream Monster Hunter series, but doesn't feel as overwhelming here. Story isn't much to speak of (classic save the world RPG), but the fun of battle, collect, craft, battle better never quite becomes stale.

This Monster Hunter game is very different than the main series as it plays as a turned base JRPG as opposed to an action style RPG everyone knows the main series to be. In this game instead of fighting all the monsters, the main protagonists partner up with the monsters in order to fight other enemies. It is one of the most beautiful games on the 3ds and it will run around 50 hours to beat the game.

I have a lot of fun with this game. It does get a bit repetitive since the combat options are a bit limited but the monster specials never get old!

Sure, it isn't pokemon, but that's not a bad thing! It's lots of fun and will keep you occupied when you're not playing monster hunter world.

This game I kind of took a chance on not knowing what to expect. It's not the standard Monster Hunter but a sidestory game. If you like the franchise at all, give it a go. It has a kind of charming, cutesy art style but don't let that fool you. There is a lot of gaming to be done here. Big story and fun characters. Definitely worth a look. Big game all around.

I always wanted to like Monster Hunter but it had a huge gate and wasn't a good solo experience. This is an RPG with hints of Pokemon and made for single player. The "rock-paper-scissors" mechanic in the fights give you some interesting decisions besides just the regular attack/special since you can cancel/make the opponent attack less. Plays and looks great too.

I love monster hunter and I love RPG although the system is hard to get (tip;trust your monster) at first it feels like see.monster need to speed up but then you start to adapt to their speed (fav is Khezu) also must mention one of the best looking games on the 3DS the colors are vibrant and big and I really would like to see more game sin this style on 3DS.

I thought it was a good game so far. I'm only a few hours into the story. I stopped playing since I've been busy with other games. I'm sure if you stick with it you'll find it to be great.

Just going by how much time they spend with this game, compared to Pokémon ultra Sun/Moon that they also got for Christmas, tells me they love it. They like Pokémon and various anime cartoons, and have not played prior versions of this as a reference. They describe it as Pokémon that you get to ride on.

This is a better spinoff than Monster Hunter Generations. Although the graphics can seem somewhat "kiddy," it actually has a lot of charm and the color palette is quite appealing. The gameplay itself is addicting as an RPG. It's basically a fun Pokemon game with a monster hunter twist.

The world and characters of monster Hunter but with the animal catching fun of Pokémon. This is probably one of the most beautiful and fun titles I have played on the 3DS. It’s not very deep, but it is loaded with content.
