Being a Monster Hunter Veteran did not stop me from enjoying a more friendly approach on the series. Its still very fun, story us very engaging and you can finally ride on some of your favorite monsters.

This game has pretty simple rock-paper-scissors style combat, but collecting monsters and exploring the colorful environments is tons of fun. Feedback loop of upgrading armor/weapons is addicting too.

I pretty much bought this because I saw there was a character creator, but I thought I would enjoy the story because there are a group of friends involved. But, like many games, your group is split immediately, but this time you're much stuck with a felyne. The world feels pretty empty and it's mostly a pokemon hunt type game. It could just not be my type of game.

This game is super fun and cute and is great for passing time. There is so much to do and it never feels boring and the monsties (yes, that's what they're called) are super fun to hatch and train.

Near the end of the 3ds life cycle is a new and fun take on Monster Hunter. Do not miss out on this game entry. This is a 100+ hour adventure.

Think Pokémon with a rock paper scissors battle mechanic and monsters. The visuals are colorful and cute and the story is engaging, providing lots of content and things to do.

A nice change from the usual style from the game. Instead of the hack and slash, it is more rock, paper, scissors. Fun going around collecting monster eggs and riding monsters around.

My hardcore friends who played Monster Hunter wouldn't touch this and I didn't care for what they played but I figured I'd enjoy this one and I did. I'd recommend it to anyone!

Only put in a few hours but it's so much fun. It's difficult but simplistic. Different than the main monster hunter games. This one is more accessible and is somewhat like Pokémon.

It can be said this is similar to pokemon, but MH: Stories is truly its own take on the genre. It looks better than any 3DS game has any right to, and is a lot of fun to grind in.

I haven’t played any of the monster hunter games in the series. This apparently is a completely different take on it though. Much more childlike. I have the Amiibo a for the game that you can only get in Japan. I love the art style.

I haven’t really played any Monster Hunter games at length because they all strike me as a bit grindy and boring, but when I heard this game was a turn based jrpg I was intrigued. My first 10 or so hours with this game we’re fine if a bit unexciting, but after that point there is a sudden and radical spike in difficulty. The world is huge and the character travels slowly even with a flying monster, and fast travel points disappear if you die before hitting a checkpoint. I was quite disappointed with this and traded it in before beating it.
