Customers enjoy the addictive gameplay, impressive graphics, and the large variety of weapons and monsters in Monster Hunter: World. Many appreciate the consistently added free content and the improved ease of use for new players, although some find the difficulty challenging and the story lacking. The open world is praised for its expansive feel, but a steep learning curve and the need for significant playtime are also noted. While some players find the controls require time to master, the overall experience is considered highly engaging.

I have enjoyed this game so far, but it is very complicated. I was hoping it would be a bit simpler game, but the wide range of weapons, items, upgrades, and combat make it a bit daunting. May be just what some people want, though.

I started playing on Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate on the Nintendo Switch, so I’m used to that layout and system.
Upon starting the game, the visuals hit me like a wall of bricks: it’s gorgeous. The environment really comes alive and I like the ability to explore the area freely without any specific missions to accomplish.
One thing I wish World had were the style system in Generations Ultimate. While I enjoy infinite air time with the insect glaive, I do miss being able to propel myself forward like a cannon ball through aerial style.
Still, I can’t complain as the gameplay is quite smooth to me. I took away one star because styles don’t exist in this game, which made it more fun for me and encouraged me to explore different ways of playing due to style restrictions.

Fun, Challenging, and Plenty to Grind For

This was my first true foray into the Monster Hunter series. Cannot believe what I've been missing out on.
This game is a blast to play solo, and even more so with friends. Scratches that RPG itch that many Destiny 2 vets have been longing for in D2's current state. Lots of gear to grind for, with the grind being incredibly fun (and depending on which monster you're fighting, incredibly challenging). While the stats and numbers on your gear will greatly effect your damage output and intake, combat is very much skill-based.
Hardcore Action-RPG fans, especially those who like games like the Dark Souls series, will love this, solo or cooperatively.

My last time playing monster Hunter was on psp years ago and I didnt think fondly of it. This new entry has revamped the combat and design and made it more easier for new players.

This was my first MH game & I love it. The world feels alive and it’s inhabitants look beautiful. The combat is satisfying once you get the hang of it. Monsters can get your heart racing and it feels rewarding to take them down.
There is a lot of depth to weapon/armor/accessories customization so there is more of a learning curve than many modern games.
It will turn into a grind if you play it long enough which is not a bad thing when you enjoy it!
Multi player has been very fun. It’s is my most played game of the year and I have only had it a month. Very addictive! I hope to see more updates & dlc in the future.

Monster Hunter World just won rpg of the year at the Video Game Awards. Hands down winner in my opinion. Fun, exciting combat against dangerous, interesting monsters. Deep rpg mechanics to really dive into with your mind. This game will challenge both sides of your brain in a fun way. The online component is great too. Also great how you don't have to take part in online at all if you don't want too. Although it is great fun when you team up with other hunters & take these amazing beasts. Enough can't be said about the awesome visuals. Truly transport to another world with several different ecosystems. The designs for all of the monsters are unique & absolutely awesome.
If you enjoy action or rpg games or both. You want to buy this title. Highly recommended!

Great introduction to the series if you have never played a Monster Hunter game, there is no story you really need to follow. 14 weapon types with different combo sets, damage types and play styles, lots of different customization armor, plenty of ongoing events, Behemoth type monsters that will leave you in awe after defeating them. Only con is if you want to get OP, you have to farm quite a bit of gems in order to get your min/max setup of damage, which can be very tedious but rewarding in the end when you can finally tackle a monster by yourself and take it down in less that 5 minutes as opposed to 20 or more.

I am new to Monster Hunter but not to the genre. I have to say that this is hands down the best game in the genre right now. The first weekend alone I dumped over 20 hours into it and I'm an adult with kids and responsibilities. I just now beat Diablos and have over 40 hours, it took me 3 days of trying after I put the kids to bed and last night I finally took him down! Take the game at a slow pace and just try and enjoy everything, I hear once you beat the game is when the hunts really start, man I can't wait. This game has been so much more fun then I thought and I knew I was gonna have a blast with it.

My first venture into the MH universe. That being said there was a lot to learn and a lot to figure out. The game doesn't hold your hand much but it is what it is. Its fun, its a grind, and best played with friends.

This game has so much content I don't know where to begin. You will have many hours of fun but not alone as you need help to tackle on some huge monsters in game. If you love crafting this game is for you.

I’ve always been interested in Monster Hunter since my friends would play it on 3DS and tried to convince me to get it. When I saw the reveal for this game I was interested and forgot all about it. Recently I bought the latest God of War and once I completed it I was left with a void. I needed another game to play and grind on, so I decided on Monster Hunter. Ever since starting it this game has been super fun with the grind and especially when you play co-op. Definitely recommend if you wanna kill some monsters with friends or need a game to grind on.

Great variety of monster types, depth in terms of combat and lots of different weapons. Hard to get used to at first but it grows on you as a player.
