When purchasing my son's new laptop I knew that we could not do without the Geek Squad. We have purchased it in the past for our oldest son and it has been a program that Best Buy stands behind. It was a super simple process to begin a claim and get help from the Geek Squad department. We had a quick resolution to our issues.

Geek Squad was able to transfer 5 TB of storage collected over 4 different external hard drives and combine them onto a new 8 TB Hard drive that is considered "cold storage" and will keep the information safer over time. This would have taken hours of time to transfer the data without the proper equipment and very costly as a service without having the monthly membership! Totally worth it!

My Best Buy Protection Plan is totally worth it! I have a portable size computer and head phones so it’s nice to know I have protection if needed. A small price to pay for peace of mind!

I'm just going to ramble, no organization to my review here here. This is both the the best laptop I have ever used and also the hottest during gaming... In a way it can't really be called a LAPtop anymore because it gets so extremely hot on your lap that I think I would just say portable gaming computer. I like to ocvasionally game while sitting on a couch or just lay back in a recliner, or mess with AI related things on occasion. It's somewhat doable but It gets scaldingly hot for either if these use cases. If you put it on a blanket it will overheat so you always have to leave air for it to breath so I have to spead legs apart with it on my lap to create and space for the hot air to flow out of the bottom. For normal desktop usage it's fine on lap though. Ok that is the biggest negative for me. For the positive. The speakers and oled screen are amazing and best on any laptop, the keyboard types well and feels solid. It all feels like the build quality of a macbook and not sure how Asus achieved this. It's hard for me to go back to using other laptops after using this one. More positive, it's the best performance on any laptop in this slim and light for factor so it's worth me getting burned for me... The screen is high refresh rate and smooth, low latency for competitive multiplayer games at 165hz, the oled and the colors pop, things are easy to see, the black is pure black and pixels off in black aress and it amazing in contrast with the white/colors so things basically look real. Overall I would say its worth it to get this laptop but may recommend to get a cooling pad if you plan of gaming with it on your lap a lot. If you don't need tk be portable like this or use like this then get a gaming desktop instead as you'll get 2x performance at half of this cost and coukf get an aw3243dwf oled screen with it, it makes no sense to buy a gaming laptop unless you need mobile gaming. Last few things, if they could make it again next year would preferred them to bring back some of the old design where the vents blow the hot air out of the back instead of the bottom and onto your legs. Also I want to mentioned if you are into anything AI related which can be VRAM heavy the 16gb of VRAM is great and I've had no issues. I was successful ij getting Linux Mint to run on this also and you just have to turn off some bios settings. The battery life is also very good and lasts for many many hours for basic work stuff. I would even recommend this laptop to non-gamers or productivity work users. Oh I forgot last negativr, The 32gb of ram is soldered and can't be upgraded like previous years so it loses a star based on that and lap heat issue while gaming. There isn't a perfect gaming laptop but this is the closest I have experienced so far! If you need a laptop and big into gaming or AI this is the one to get!

I must admit, I was initially quite skeptical about Lenovo laptops and wouldn't have considered purchasing one. However, my son, who is far more knowledgeable in these matters, highly recommended this particular model: the Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 5 14" Laptop with an Intel Core i7 processor, 32GB of memory, and a 1TB SSD. He was absolutely right. This laptop outperforms my previous desktop by a wide margin. It also offers impressive upgrade potential for both RAM and SSD. The build quality is exceptional, and the ports—including HDMI, USB, and Ethernet—meet the highest standards. Without hesitation, I would wholeheartedly recommend this laptop to anyone in need of a reliable and high-performing device.

You don't need it until you NEED it! I had zero problems for years then all of a sudden.. I NEEDED HELP! They were courteous and able to fix my problem in less than an hour!

On February 17, 2025, I submitted my Dell XPS 14 laptop for service due to a power failure. I had acquired this device in September 2024, specifically to run software essential for my information technology auditing and cybersecurity coursework. Unfortunately, I had not backed up the data on this laptop, a lapse in diligence that became concerning with midterms approaching next week. The Geek Squad technicians diagnosed and resolved the power issue. By February 19, 2025, they returned my laptop, ensuring that all data, installed software, and customized program settings were intact. In summary, the expertise and customer service provided by the Geek Squad were exceptional and greatly alleviated my concerns during a critical time.

I used Geek Squad to run network wiring and wall ports for my TV / Entertainment system. Having it hard-wired makes for a stable streaming and great entertainment experience, no matter how many kids are using the wireless bandwidth.

This is far better than my asus rog 2060. It was a good price for the times we're in. I wish they had the 5070ti at the time of purchase
