Great Extra Battery Life Case

This new iPhone 16 Pro Max “juice pack” from Mophie has worked out great for me. I travel for work and most times, getting back to the hotel doesn’t happen until it’s late in the day. I use my phone for just about everything and even though the battery for the iPhone 16 is very good, there are times where a little extra power to get me through the day is very helpful.
Installation is a snap. The top of the battery pack comes off allowing you to simply slide the phone into the main part of the case. Once secured, you put the top back onto the base which fits perfectly. After it is on, you can see and feel the raised edges which help to protect the screen and camera from incidental bumps and scratches. Mophie’s advertisement claims to protect it up to six feet if dropped which also aids in protecting the phone.
In order to start the charging of your phone, you simply press and hold a button on the back of the pack. There are four indicator lights which indicate both when it is on as well as how much battery is left. Once all lights are out, it is fully depleted and needs a recharge. By that point, I’m able to get at least 50% more power to my phone which gives me several more hours of use.
Mophie, a subsidiary of ZAGG, who makes cases, screen protectors, etc. for mobile devices as well, gives me a lot of confidence in the products they put out for sale for my devices. I can honestly say I have never had issues with their products or exchanges of screen protectors, etc. A battery pack with a two-year warranty tells me they stand behind their product.

Mophie iPhone 16 Pro Max

So I after missing my FedEx delivery man for a couple days (because I had to sign for it), I finally got my hands on my new Mophie Battery Pack case for my new iPhone 16 Pro Max. Now Mophie is brand that has been around for quite sometime and people have come to love and trust this brand. I haven’t used a Mophie case on my iPhone since the iPhone 6/Plus. So having prior knowledge and experience with the brand and the case before, I knew what I was getting.
Inside the package comes the Mophie case and the user manual. There is not a USB-C cable included which is kinda a downer but not necessarily a dealbreaker. Setting up the Mophie case with your iPhone 16 Pro Max is pretty-straightforward and easy a pie to do. The case comes in 2 separate pieces. Simply slide your iPhone down into the bottom part of the case with the USB-C connector and then slide the top case on until it snaps into place. And removing the case is just as easy. On the left side of the case are buttons for the Action Button as well as the Volume +/- buttons. On the front of the case at the bottom are speaker and mic grills for audio. The right side features the Power Button and a cutout towards the bottom for the new Camera Control button. And on the back is obviously the camera cutout as well as the Power Button for the case itself along with 4 led lights that I’m assuming each one indicates 25% of how full the battery case is. Now as I stated before I have used a Mophie case before and I knew that it makes your phone significantly more bulkier than a regular standard case does. I personally don’t mind this as I’m one of the few people that don’t really care about how thin smartphones are nowadays. I love a good heft to my phones. So the bulkiness doesn’t bother me.
For whatever reason in my time of using this new case, although it has worked as it should, it seems to take longer at charging the case itself as well as my iPhone 16 Pro Max than I remember how quickly it took back when I had the case for my iPhone 6/Plus. Still not necessarily a dealbreaker. However, the one thing that kinda bugs me is how once the case is fully charged and I use it to charge up my phone, it charges all the way to 100% which is what its supposed to do, however in my setting I have my iPhone 16 Pro Max battery set to 90% to help with the overall Battery Health on my iPhone. I wish that the Mophie could somehow sense what my setting it and automatically shut-off when it reaches 90% but it doesn’t. It also seemingly doesn’t automatically shutoff even when it does reaches 100%, which seems like it’s continuing to waste battery life that I had charged up on the case.
Another great feature about the case is that the back of the battery case is MagSafe compatible, which is great because I use a MagSafe wallet for my ID and a couple of cards. My MagSafe connects easily and has a strong magnet connects which keeps my wallet in place without sliding all around and such. All in all aside from those quirks I do love the case and will use it especially when I know I’m going to be away from my charger for awhile, it does come in handy.

Phone cases are a dime a dozen these days, but decent ones with built in batteries are a much narrower breed. This rates among the best I've used.
Packaging:
To start it's pretty high end packaging for a case, well documented and well packaged.
Use:
It's pretty straightforward, pop the top off the case and slide the phone into it then replace the top. The case itself has a 3600mah battery built in which adds almost 75% more life to the phone. If you have a tendency to go through battery quickly this is likely the answer you're looking for. The case itself charges through the USB-C port on the bottom which also provides pass-through data and charging capability. It also has a function to send the power straight to the phone when charging rather than to the battery pack.
Overall:
It's a very well thought out extended case. Zagg owns the mophie brand so it's good quality as can be expected from the company. I would easily recommend it to anyone looking to extend their daily battery life for their phone.

The charge doesn’t last as long as I thought it would for the price. I don’t think it’s worth the cost.
