Not exactly what I thought it would be. However it was just the right time for it to come out.

We've all been living with COVID 19 for almost half a year now, so I've been eyeballing devices like this for a month or 2 now. I work at a hospital and my phone comes in contact with everything my hands do and that's just a little bit gross. While I have no way to prove that this device is actually killing 99.9% of germs other than the claims Mophie makes about it, I'll be reviewing this device under the assumption that it does. With all that out of the way, I was super excited to open up the product and have it be so simple. You plug in the AC power adapter, put in whatever you want to sanitizer and press the button. After 5 minutes the device beeps to signal that you're device is now sanitized. The trip here is that your device will look exactly the same as when you put it in. This device doesn't wash your phone, nor clean the screen or even blow off dust, it just sanitizes anything the UV-C light comes in contact with. Studies have shown that UV-C does seem to kill most Coronaviruses, including COVID19 and this is what the Mophie sanitizer employs to disinfect your device. The device doesn't have a whole lot of room to place items in, but I was able to fit some Airpods, keys and even some credit cards in there without any issues. The phone in the pictures is an old iPhone 6s, but my iPhone 8 Plus fits just fine with room to spare. The wireless charging on the device works quite well too and makes this device just a little bit more useful as you can charge a phone while you wait for another to sanitize or just use it as a large Qi charger. The only reason I'm not giving this device 5 stars is the fact that I believe the bin being a little deeper would be so very advantageous for this product, even at the expensive of some thickness. Being able to toss more things in there to sanitize during these very germ riddled times would be awesome. Here's my breakdown of the pros and cons: Pros: Easy set up Looks clean, if not a little too simple Qi Charging on the top of the device (does not charge the device inside the unit) Plenty of room for most phones and other objects if you get creative Cons: Not sure how effective this device really is Device tray isn't very deep

Knowing that, technically speaking, your mobile phone is probably the least sanitary thing in your home and one that you are constantly touching, I've wanted to get one of these sanitizing units for a while now. When I saw this one, with the added feature of having a wireless charging pad on top, I decided, this was the one. I'll begin by listing what I see as Pros/Cons of the unit: Pros: Fits my phone, which is the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 5G, but that with the case is the maximum size that will fit. I'll say it kills common bacteria as described on the box, but I can't independently verify that claim. The wireless charging works great. It charges by placing your device on top of the lid, not inside. This gives the unit an every day use. Comes with it's own power supply so I didn't have to use one that I already had. It accepts USB-C, so I assume if you had another 18W power supply, you could use that as well. The sanitation cycle is absolutely silent and fast (~ 5 minutes). Cons: Unsure if the UV light is the right wavelength to kill viruses like H1N1 and Sars-Cov-2, that information is not provided. The button to activate the sanitation cycle is always lit, is a bright white, and flashes when the unit is wirelessly charging. I'm pleased with the device, even given the above and would recommend it to anyone as, even if it doesn't kill the viruses, it's still worth it to safely sanitize your phone and other small items that fit within the device's tray.

The sanitizer works when it is plugged into the wall. For some reason it does not hold any charge. Perhaps it is faulty?

So first off, I will say I have no way to test this products ability to sterilize your phone but what I can say is that the timer works as it should and the UV light is definitely functioning. The sanitizing button doesn't really tell you anything, you just push it and it will beep 5 minutes later. That's all the info you really have from it. As far as the rest, it's a good product. It charges well and even charges through my Otterbox defender case on my iPhone 8. Its a little bulky compared to other wireless chargers but that's because of the sanitizing compartment. Would have probably preferred it in black but the white is a nice color as well. Overall I would give it 4 stars.

Mophie was kind enough to send me their newest UV Sanitizer with wireless Charging. First off, the 10 W of wireless power is not enough to supercharge your phone. Im guessing the output is 1A for anyone who is wondering about that. you place your phone on top to charge it and inside to sanitize. Overall the whole device is made of plastic, not exactly premium materials but It gets the job done. This is one of those products that we just have to take the manufacturers word that it is really sanitizing, or does a fancy blue light just come on? At that MSRP it is a little overpriced in my opinion.
