    A Good Option

This is my first UV sanitizer device, and overall I'm reasonably pleased with it. More than a few articles have been written about how dirty the average cell phone is and -- in light of the current pandemic -- fears about germ transmission have only increased. Before taking delivery of this device I did a bit of research on UV-C sanitization (the process this device uses) and was pleased to find it is generally considered safe and effective. More research is needed but preliminary indications are that UV-C light is capable of killing the COVID-19 virus. This sanitizer is as simple as can be: simply plug it in and wait a second or two for the light to come on; put your phone, keys, credit cards or what-have-you inside; close the lid and press the button. The sanitizer beeps once to let you know it's working and beeps again when the cycle is complete five minutes later. For safety, the UV-C lights will only come on when the lid is fully closed and shut off immediately if the lid is opened during the sanitization cycle. UV-C light is safe for most any hard surface, doesn't involve heat or harsh chemicals, and is silent in operation. So far I've used it on my phone, credit cards, pens and anything else that fits inside. I'm pleased to say the wireless charging lid works through my phone case and seems to charge reasonably fast (Mophie says it will fast-charge compatible iPhones). My major quibble with this device is how shallow the sanitizing tray is. A typical cell phone in a case will fit, but anything thicker will not. I was hoping to use this to sanitize my keys but the key fob for my car is too thick, as is my wallet without removing what's inside. For as large a device as the Mophie is I'm a little surprised the sanitizing tray is so shallow. A few minor quibbles that contributed to my rating include that the light on the front is always on and very bright, making this device difficult to use as a bedside charging/sanitizing station if lights annoy you. Also, while attractive in appearance, the Mophie is very lightweight and hollow, and the light on the front, beeping sound and "wall wart" power brick remind me of an inexpensive alarm clock. I would hope for a more solid-feeling device at this price. Finally, the lid is domed and a little slippery, so your phone may slide off if it starts vibrating while charging. Finally, a note: the wireless charging works when you place a phone or other device on the lid. Your device does NOT charge when it is being sanitized. I see the logic of this -- the sanitizing cycle is only 5 minutes long and you may want to sanitize multiple items in a row instead of waiting for your phone to charge -- but do be aware this is how the Mophie is designed to work.

This is a fantastic little device. Even if COVID hadn't come around, I think this device would still be extremely useful. The sanitizing compartment is big enough to hold phones much larger than any in our household. I was able to fit three credit cards at the same time. I've used it to sanitize my car key fob, credit cards, my phone, keys, etc. It's so easy to use. Just place the objects inside, press the button on the side, and wait for the beep to know when it's finished. The wireless charging is also nice. Of course, it doesn't provide quick charge like wired chargers, but it's nice to have when placing your phone down while streaming music. Not a knock against this product, but I wish i had a bigger one for larger objects.

Gave as a gift. Worked once then stopped working. Now unable to return it because I bought it before Christmas. 30 day return policy sucks. The box was not sealed and didn’t come with instructions. I think Best Buy sold me a pre used returned item.

it was horrible. This product was purchased for a gift at Christmas. It does not charge and now I see that my Aunt had less than 30 days to use and return it. So, I am out 62.99. This is really bad for a Christmas return.

From what I can tell, the mophie - UV Sanitizer with Wireless Charging works fine. I am not doing any scientific process to prove that bacteria is being eliminated, however I can confirm that the when initiating the sanitation, that the purple lights in the units do engage and hopefully kills some germs. The unit is large enough to place any Max or Plus size phone inside a protective case. Small items such as keys easily fit for your sanitation needs. It does take 6 mins to run, so is it quicker or more convenient than a antibacterial wipe down? Not necessarily. Wireless charging works seamlessly on its large surface area. Keep in mind, this unit does not charge while it sanitizing. Charging is on top of the lid of the sanitation area. As mentioned in the review summary, the unit is big. But maybe it will be a good reminder to put things in to sanitize;) If you find the sanitation useful than this is just a very large QI wireless charger that stick out.

This is a phone charger and a UV sanitizing station. First, the phone charger works. You can just put your phone on the lid and it will charge. There is not any grip on top so your phone can slide off if bumped so that is one negative aspect to the charger. The sanitation feature is pretty nice. You open the lid and place your phone inside. Once you push the button to begin sanitation, it will beep in 5 minutes letting you know it is complete. I have an iPhone 11 and plenty of room. I also have used it for bank cards and cloth mask. All in all a nice unit. I deducted one star for the fact that you really don’t have anything to secure your phone to when setting on top to charge so if you bump the unit or table the unit sits on while charging your phone, the phone will slide off the charger pretty easy.

    Great Solution For Cleaning/Charging Smartphones

This device from Mophie and its parent, Zagg, is a neat solution for cleaning and wirelessly charging your smartphone and cleaning other small items such as keys, creditcards, pens and other things you carry around with you. Using UV rays, the cleaner sanitizes both sides of small items in just 5 minutes of time and is designed to kill 99.99% of most common surface germs. The lid of the device opens up to allow small items to be placed inside for UV sanitizing including smartphones with thin cases. The top of the lid acts as a smartphone charger and charges Apple, Android and other phones as well. The lid is somewhat slick so you need to make sure the smartphone is placed so as not to slide off the charger when in use. The Mophie UV Sanitizer with Wireless Charging is made of a strong plastic and should provide years of charging and cleaning services.

This is one of those products where it either works or it doesn’t. The wireless charging functionality (while your phone is on the lid) works very well with my iPhone. The basin of the device was large enough to hold my car key fobs, phone, and other small items. It’s a one touch effort - push the button once the lid is closed and wait for the tone that tells you the cycle is complete. Knowing that our phones are magnets for germs, this device is a great way of building some peace of mind and easy enough to use that it becomes a regular part of your routine.

The mophie UV Sanitizer with wireless charging is a pretty interesting product that seemed almost inevitable in these crazy times. On the wireless charging side, this is advertised as a 10W "fast" charger and it performs as expected. I was able to get it charging on both an iPhone 11 Pro and a GS9+. The iPhone was in a thin plastic/TPU case and the charging worked perfectly. The GS9+ reports fast wireless charging which in Samsung world means 10W or 15W. The charging speed is of course lower than a wired connection, but that's the trade off for convenience. One benefit with the mophie pad is it comes with a power adapter, so you don't have to sacrifice one of your other fast charging adapters for this pad. The included adapter supplies up to 18W (9V-2A and 12V-1.5A). The same logic of sanitizing your phone applies to anything else you use in a public place these days. One thing I've taken to doing during the pandemic has been putting any credit or debit cards I use in a separate pocket instead of back in my wallet, and then wiping them down with a lysol or alcohol wipe when I get back to the house. With the UV sanitizer, I can save a wipe and just toss the cards in there. Or if I use my multi-tool while out, when I get home I can toss it in the sanitizer. These are things that I'm not incredibly concerned about being a risk to my health so for a little piece of mind and convenience I can see where this product has a niche. This mophie product has become a daily use item in my home and I'm happy to recommend it.

    Great Charger and, Perhaps, Sanitizer

This is a difficult product to fully evaluate fairly, as I can actually document only one of its two primary functions. As it is advertised, the device can both sanitize a phone (and other objects that will fit into its generous sanitizing compartment) and wirelessly charge a phone equipped for wireless. The latter function is excellent. If one follows the limited instructions, the phone is simply placed on top of the device (NOT in the sanitizing compartment) and within a second or two, there will be a beep indicating that high-speed charging has started. My phone has a rather bulky case, yet the charger connected to the phone virtually instantly. With other wireless chargers I have used, the bulky case has impeded a rapid (or any) connection. As for the sanitizing claim, I note three matters: First, I have no way of evaluating whether it did in fact “sanitize” my phone. I am not saying it didn’t, but I can’t be certain. Second, the box notes in small print that it sanitizes only bacteria. There is no mention of viruses, Covid-19 or otherwise. There is also a third-party tester quote that “… it does not directly protect the user from exposure to bacteria or provide additional health benefits.” Third, there are no visual indications as to when the sanitizing function is in use. When plugged in, there is a lighted button that comes and stays on. To sanitize, one places the object in the compartment then pushes the button once to get a single beep response. The light does not change so the beep is the only indication that the process has started. In about 5 minutes the product beeps 3 times which I assume means the process is completed. Again, there are no visual or other indicators of the cycle’s status. Finally, as is now so common for products marketed in dozens of countries, the instructions are sparse and printed in many languages in very small typeface. Not an issue for me, but could be for others. The only actual instructions are, “…refer to the illustrations in this quick-start guide.” Fortunately, since the processes are not complex, neither are the illustrations. Overall, an excellent charger that may offer other benefits.

I have used the Mophie wireless charger and sanitizer for a few days now and I absolutely love it. I would list some PRO's and CON's but unfortunately, I found no cons. WAY TO GO MOPHIE!!!! I sanitize my phone, keys, cards, wallet, you name it! the sanitation cycle only takes 5 minutes. Get your backsides out there and purchase this product! You will not regret it. Quick clean cycle, imperfect design for charging

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

The use of UV-C lights to kill germs and viruses is not a new concept and given just how dirty and frequently handled our cell phones are, this device seems like a perfect application for the technology. Pros: - Innocuous design isn't beautiful but also won't stand out too much (although it would have been nice to have some other color choices). - Cleaning cycle is relatively short, and unlike some competing devices a handy button starts a timer so you know precisely when the cycle is complete. - The device is (just) large enough fit even a Galaxy Note 10+ (including case), so should fit most phones, but may not fit 2020 "Ultra" flagship devices if they have bulky cases, so check dimensions. - Offers wireless charging via the lid as a bonus. Cons: - These things really don't blend in to the surrounding decor. It's not obnoxious, but it takes up space and the plastic finish is fine but not super attractive. - The wireless charging is finicky to use due to the slightly convex shape of the lid, causing devices to want to slide off and need precise positioning. - The power indicator light (which also flashes during charging) is quite large and very bright, making this is relatively poor choice for a bedside charging device if you're at all sensitive to light at night. Assuming that this device does a good job bathing your phone in UV-C rays (I don't have any kind of test equipment to know for sure), the cleaning cycle is well implemented. Unlike some other competing devices, it has a built in timer and a button to press which clearly indicates that power is available and beeps when the cycle is over. The wireless charging is less well implemented. As with many wireless chargers, your phone will need to be positioned precisely for the charging to work and stay connected. Unlike other wireless chargers, that positioning is complicated by the fact that the lid is slightly domed and the plastic is slippery (no rubberized strips to hold the phone in place). As a result, it's easy for the phone to slip around. Even if you can get it well positioned, the vibration from a phone notification can cause it to move enough to lose connection. Summary: If you'd looking for a quick and easy UV-C solution to sanitize phones, this one is quick and easy to use. If you're looking for higher end finished to blend in with your home decor, or if wireless charging is an important element of a product like this for you, you may want to consider an alternative solution.

    Phone falls off charging platform

I received this charger as a gift. Unfortunately, my iPhone won't charge unless I remove it from its case (I have a magnet attached to my case for the holder in my car). This means that without fail, the phone will slide off and fall off the charging platform. I wish there was a rubber stopper to keep the device in place. Because of this, I would not recommend it as a charger. The lid also doesn't stay open, and the UV dish is quite shallow (e.g. it will fit your air pods, but the the airpod case).
