I've been gaming now for a whole 31 years (started at the age of 2 with an NES. I'm now 33). I remember when Mortal Kombat came on the scene to challenge the reign of Street Fighter 2. While many enjoyed the series, I was always a loyalist to Capcoms beloved franchise and only ever watched folks play MK and/or casually play it myself but NEVER had an interest in purchasing until this entry. I've no regrets.

This is the first time I’ve played MK in twenty years—MK11 didn’t disappoint! I have it on the Switch and everyone says the graphics have taken a hit on this platform, but I could care less. It’s very fun and silly.
Caveat emptor: the game software took forever to download even though I purchased the physical copy (3+ hours), it requires quite a bit of memory, and needs the purchase of a few extras to reach the best game play experience.

The Definitive MK Game

This is probably the definitive Mortal Kombat game, much the same way that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the definitive Smash game. It has more characters than any previous MK game and the amount of customisability is unparalleled. The tight controls and bloody finishers remain intact, even after 2+ decades of fighting game prowess. It runs beautifully on the Switch.

I am completely amazed at what the Nintendo Switch can do. The fact that we can play these AAA games on a less powerful, handheld system is pretty incredible. With that being said, in order to do that you have to accept the sacrifices that come with it, and in this case the graphics department takes a huge hit. Everything is blurry, muddy, and it's the missing the little details like blood hitting the floor or wounds on your fighter that is present in the other consoles. Hair looks like crap, lighting textures are overblown, and the Krypt atmosphere feels empty.
My biggest complain is that the game lags from time to time in story mode. That is unacceptable. It constantly takes me out of the flow of the story.
The positive is that it runs a smooth 60fps during fights and contains all the same butt load of content that the other consoles have. And of course, you can take this with you on the go. I would honestly wait until $30 tops before getting it for the Switch. If you have other consoles, I would definitely get it for them instead.
Not a terrible port, but a lot needs to be worked on to have it feel worth the money.

Mortal Kombat 11 on the switch gives us an amazing fighter on the go, which is why most of us bought this...for the portability. I will be honest though, the graphics do not hold up well, especially when compared to other fighters like Blazblue and Smash Bros on the switch. This entry doesn't have as much content as the previous entries but it does have great features like customization options and of course the portability offered. Overall a good game, but not the best in the series.

It’s a great game. I bought this for a trip and played it on the plane. Was totally a good time killer. Campaign was surprisingly great.
The game looks like crap on the Switch though. That’s to be expected. If you play it handheld, it’s easy to overlook. The moment you dock it, it’s not good looking at all.
Overall, great fun, and I would recommend it if the Switch is your only console in your home.

The ol' school super Nintendo game we all remember has been reinvented! Amazing graphics, more combo moves, has a new dated story line, and different ways to play. You can play the story mode, fight through towers of fighter, play others online, get treasures with money, or practice in training with each character to learn their moves. It is very graphic and bloody but the combos are awesome!
