I bought this to replace my Comcast provided modem. It is much smaller than the Comcast modem and uses less power. It also prevents Comcast from using my house as one of their public hotspots since it has no wifi access point built into it. I receive my full contracted speed through this modem with no problems. You will need a router to put behind this unless you are only connecting a single device to it.

I didn't really know what type of modem to get when I recently had the internet installed at my home. But after comparing prices, I was able to afford this modem. And it has not given me any problems so far. It's very reliable, fast and fit my budget!

This is a great modem. It was easy to set up and start using right away. It went with our router with no issues. It wasn't super expensive which made me think it might not do a great job, but it definitely has!

This modem was easy to set up, has multiple jacks for routers, and is small and easily to fit places. I would recommend this to anyone in need of a fairly priced easy set up modem.

Fair price, simple setup, does what it's supposed to. We're getting the 100mbs I pay for when I speed test at various locations, though I guess that's more the router, but still it gets it from this modem.

The modem I owned before my buying this one was old. Like, it could go out and register to vote, old. We were constantly having to reset everything, turn it off, turn it back on, pray that the little light would come back on. It made having internet almost pointless because we were always fighting with a little black box to be able to use it. The folks at the store were really helpful in figuring out what we needed based on what our Internet needs/speeds are and this fit well into our budget. We haven't had any problems so far and the difference in performance was immediately noticeable. Installation was breeze.

Using the Motorola (Zoom) with Comcast, and the performance is better than I expected. I purchased this model over the older Motorola/Arris Surfboard because it has lightning protection built in. The Motorola Surfboard might have the same feature, but I could not find it listed in either the marketing material or owner's manual. I also found good reviews for the chipset used inside of the cable modem. Note that while the brand is Motorola, the manufacturer is Zoom Telephonics. Like the expired agreement with Arris, the manufacturer of the Surfboard line of cable modems, the Motorola name is used under license.

I bought this and a Netgear Nighthawk wireless router to replace the wireless modem I was "renting" through my isp, and am getting such better performance that there is no comparison! Not to mention it pays for itself in time!

This product works as advertised. Was easy to set up out of the box. Required a phone call to Spectrum (speak to a live person the automatic pinging is not enough) to get it to work. The only things I'd like to point out are 1, the unit gets warm (not hot, but still not a great feature), and 2, the flashing lights are really bright--they can pretty much be a nightlight in whatever room you've got this in.

After a 2 year trial run with an Arris brand modem that unexpectedly stopped connecting to the Spectrum/Time Warner network a month or so ago, I found myself int he market for a new modem. This model is on the pre-approved list for Spectrum/Time Warner and featured the right set of features and price for my needs at this time. Limited to a 25mbps download speed and a 2mbps upload I didn't need a high end device, rather I wanted a product that was priced fair and would last until i was ready to upgrade again. Having had a Motorola surfboard modem for over 10 years before replacing it with the Arris, I knew the build quality would be sufficient and the set up simple. I wasn't disappointed with this purchase. A few cords to connect, a call to Spectrum, and I was up and running good as new in a matter of moments. Simplicity and quality at it's best. For folks without a 1gbps connection and looking for a little value, you could do much MUCH worse than this device here. Recommended!

This modem works to replace one Xfinity rents for $9.99/mo - as long as you also have a router, like Apple's AirPort Extreme, which greatly boosts wifi speeds. If not, you'll need to buy the $180 modem/router combo if looking to escape Xfinity's modem rental charges. If you're not looking to amplify speed and/or supplant the monthly Xfinity rental fee, there is no "need" to purchase anything. I had already purchased the AirPort Extreme to boost at-home wifi speed, which it genuinely does by about a factor of 4 - beating out EVERY modem/router combo that claims the same; I tried them all! So don't be conned into thinking you can increase speed AND cut costs with ONE combined device (plausible, but I never found it to be true). Once your speed is increased, then this $60 modem only makes economic sense considering a cost equal to six months of renting from Xfinity.
