    Had to replace it...

Bought this exact model twice. The first one I had for over a year before I noticed that my internet speeds were slowing down. Upon calling my service provider, they were able to run a test on the modem and said that the responses they were getting were unusual because they were "fluctuating wildly", and recommended I replace the unit. Upon installing the second, my internet speeds went back to "normal". It's a good modem, I wouldn't have bought the second one if it wasn't. It loses a star for me for only having 1 RJ45 connection, for whatever caused the first modem to fail, and for the cost for a DOCSIS 3.1 modem.

Bought because we needed to update for the cutting of cable and addition of streaming. once everything was setup and sorted out with the cable company, we were off and running. This modem has not let us down. Great speed and connectivity. A must have.

Bought this as an upgrade to my old Arris Surfboard to take advantage of speeded up Xfinity internet. It speeded up my internet connection significantly. Takes a while to boot up and I was beginning to wonder if it was going to connect. Took a while to setup, but overall satisfied.

Easy install. Works basically ok but seems to reboot intermittently. No Rhyme or Reason. Eliminated my X1 gateway and rental. The intermittent reboot makes it rather difficult to troubleshoot. Best speed thus far has been 800mbs but that could easily be the outside plant.

Purchased Apr 21, 2022 to replace a 4-year-old Netgear. Having had a Motorola modem that lasted almost 6 years in that past I decided to go back to Motorola believing I was getting quality modem especially since I paid almost $200.00 for this modem. Worked well for about 6 months, then in late-October. Connection drop-off to either my router or Xfinity began to occur that progressively got worse. By December, I was resetting modem 4-5X a day! Replacing with a new Netgear that was cheaper, I haven't had any issues. I am very disappointed and will think twice about purchasing any Motorola modem again.

My old cable modem SB6190 started to get inconsistent speed lately and I decided to upgrade to this modem for future proof. It has the same 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3 and the new 3.1 along with 2.5gb Ethernet. Set up was quick after I called Cox to active. It has been running good.

Best "User Owned" Modem for Cable Networks

Best "user owned" Docsis 3.1 cable modem to avoid rental fees on Comcast, Cox and other cable networks. Speeds over 1TB are supported. Don't waste your money on an inbetween modem that might not work as well. Cable companies are in it to make money. This slows the flow from your wallet to theirs while giving you ability for higher speeds.

We switched from a cable provided modem to this modem and have been very happy with it so far. It provides fast speed and it's rare to get buffering with watching tv online. We were also having to reboot the cable provided modem quite often but we haven't had to do that with this one.

Bought this because Xfinity up'd my speed and my other Motorola was not fast enough due to built-in filters. Brought this home, opened the box and set up using Xfinity mobile app. Within 10 minutes, I was back online. NOTE: This Modem only has 1 ethernet port and no WIFI, but since I have my own router, not an issue. No complaints.
