Buffering
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was having issue with my internet buffering all the time and I was told my router was out date even though it was only 3 years old. Better reliability versus more expensive units
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve bought more expensive units and replaced them within 1-2 years. This unit is in year 3 now and still going strong. It will pay itself off versus renting a unit fro Xfinity.

Great Modem for the price.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never realized that my previous modem was bad until i started using this modem. The speed is blazing fast and the ssh never disconnects even for a week. My previous modem always disconnected my ssh session in 8 hours. Just buy this modem and you'll not regret it.

Great Modem
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After moving and having our internet service upgraded I finally decided to upgrade my 10 year old Arris 6241. I was looking at this modem and the Arris S33, but price played a role in selecting this modem as it had similiar specs and was cheaper. I was a little reluctant at first after reading some reviews that complained about disconnects, but went ahead with the purchase and I don't regret it. The initial setup with Comcast was a real pain, but that's an Xfinity issue, not Motorola. The instructions want you to visit a website, but I had issues getting it to accept the modem so when I called I could only ever get an automated system and never was able to speak to a live person. So much for good customer service, thanks Comcast. Luckily after about 10 minutes I was able to get the modem working on the network. It restarted a few times on its own initially but I think this was due to updates from Comcast. My old Arris was only capable of download speeds of 275 mbps and my new service contract was for 600 mbps. My first speedtest on this modem got me up to 705 mbps. I've tested it several times since and it remains rock solid around 700 mbps every time. It's a little larger than the Arris modems, but it does seem to run a little cooler. It gets warm, but no where near as hot as the Arris. The biggest plus of this modem over something like an Arris 8200 is the 2.5 gbps port on the back. You won't need link aggregation to get higher speeds and it gives you a little future proofing. If you're looking to upgrade your modem or simply buy your own to avoid the rental fee this one is a solid choice.

Best Buy’s Best Modem
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Fast and reliable connection. Easy to install. Works great with my mesh WiFi system. Highly, highly recommended. Also, Best Buy will give you a 15% discount if you recycle another networking equipment (router or modem) EVEN IF you did not buy the recycled equipment from BB.

Works Great with Xfinity
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided to upgrade from an ancient and slow rental modem but didn't want Comcast's all-in-one solution. This cable modem is future proof with DOCSIS 3.1 and a 2.5GB ethernet port, and it will pay for itself in one year. Easy to set up with Comcast using the Xfinity app on your phone. Plug it in, wait for the connection light to come on, open the app, and activate a new device using the MAC address. It only took about five minutes and Comcast automatically removed the $14 modem rental fee from my bill. With 600 Mbps service I'm getting as much as 740 Mbps on some speed tests with this modem, so clearly it can handle the bandwidth. Just keep in mind that the MB8611 is a modem only - no router or WiFi - so you'll need a separate WiFi router with at least a 1000 Mbps Internet port.

Works with Xfinity
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works with Xfinity. Easy setup thru Xfinity support [5 mins]. Now no more monthly charges for rental equipment that is useless. I use my own router connected to this device with no issues.

Needed Hi speed Modem
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My Internet provider, Xfinity, increased my speed to about 400 mbps. I had a modem that was not able to handle that speed. So I got the Motorola MB 8611. I have had no problems & am happy with my new modem.

Probably the best modem on the market…
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Besides the ridiculously priced Asus. I don’t believe in handing money over to ISP’s to rent their shoddy equipment. This modem is a great alternative to paying $20/month for internet access. Make sure to pair it with a top end router, or you will not notice your speed increases.

reliable and fast
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Reliable and fast. This replaced an older Motorola 1Gbps modem that never gave more than 400 Mbps with an Xfinity 800 Mbps feed. The MB8611 gives speeds at 800+ Mbps with the same feed.

Good modem
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great modem. Just make sure your ISP doesn’t start playing tricks on you and dropping the connection regularly so that they end up getting you to rent one of theirs.

Modem works great, but read the box
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Meant to get the combo router and modem. Read the box if you want an all in one, but this ended up working great when I bought the router.

Good for the price
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had this modem for a few weeks now and so far so good. It has gone down maybe one time but then came right back up. I would definitely recommend this modem if you have Comcast’s high tier package you get close to gigabit speed. The set up was easy cuz I had the xfinity app on my phone I just plugged it in then put the CM MAC in and then it rebooted. I checked my speed to make sure everything was good. At first I wasn’t getting the speed I was paying for but I as getting close to what I was getting. Plugged it into my Netgear nighthawk mesh router and then was getting what I was paying for it was kinda weird.
