Turned out I did not need
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am sure this could possibly be a great device but unfortunately was told by the employee that I would need it to hook up my Verizon internet with my own router. Verizon at least in my area doesn't require it, they had everything that I needed to hook up to my router and get my internet running

Turn your coax into ethernet!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was skeptical about purchasing this item but have been more than pleased with how easy it was to set up and how reliable the connection has been! In order to have this working, you'll need 2 of these to create the moca network unless this is something your router already supports. Either way, I am getting full speed over the 30 year old coax lines already installed in my house and through a splitter in the basement. This saved me a lot of time and effort compared to installing cat6 throughout the house. I'd still take true ethernet wiring over this but this adpater is a GREAT solution for those hard to reach places of your home. I highly recommend and plan to buy more in the future!!!

Minimal difference vs 1gb ethernet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought these to run as dedicated lines for my AiMesh Nodes on a Coax-Ethernet back haul. Ended up using them to create a dedicated network for my IP cameras. Even thought I have a 10gb backbone I saw considerable network slowdown because the QNAP Pro software records my 8 IP cameras 24/7. In addition, I stream these cameras to a Nvidia Shield to convert the RTSP to HTTP for use on my Home Automation tables installed on the walls. I have various Samsung Cameras and they stream between 42 to 2 mbps depending on the model. Needless to say there was considerable network traffic constantly. So I ended up using these MOCA devices to run a dedicated IP Camera network with another router enabling static routes. Used pre-existing Coax, which saved me the trouble of running additional Ethernet. I saw little to no speed difference comparing it to 1gb ethernet. Just be sure to use high quality splitters and coax cables. These devices are plug and play. Wish I discovered them a long time ago.
