I recently needed to replace an iPhone 7 Plus. I wanted a new iphone but could not bring myself to spend over $1,000 on a cell phone. I was looking at the deals in the Best Buy store and picked up this Motorola Edge. I really liked the AMOLED display and the snappy feel of the phone. This is my first Android phone after being an exclusive iphone/iOS user since the original iphone and iPod touch in 2008. To get to the point, I REALLY LIKE IT!!! I was afraid I would hate Android, but the basic load of Android 10 is very similar to iOS 13. I believe iOS is still a better operating system and the iphone is still a better phone. However, the two operating systems are so similar now that I cannot see giving the extra $$$. The Motorola Edge is really nice, and I picked it up for only $399. I could have easily given more money for another smartphone, but I am not a fan of Samsung phones and I do not see a dollar for dollar return on an iphone anymore. The Motorola edge has a great display, a basic load of Android 10, snappy processor, 256 GB internal storage, expandable storage (something no iphone provides), a great camera array (crazy detail in photos), AND only costs 1/3rd of the new flagships. I really love this phone, and I cannot wait to see Motorola’s next near-flagship phone next year!

I've purchased several Motorola products in the past and never really had any issues untill I bought this 1. Within a month the screen was malfunctioning. I called and had the phone replaced with a new one. The new one worked fine but seemed to have a lesser screen vividness. It occasionally does strange stuff n I hope it gets fixed with software updates. At least the screen doesn't glitch out completely now I suppose....

While I love this phone, the curved edges makes it difficult to type the letters on the edge of your screen when using the tempered glass screen protector. I have not had any issues with the screen changing colors as many other people have had mentioned in their reviews but I also don't use my phone heavily for long hours at a time. The phone is fast and easy to get used to compared to my Droid turbo 2 phone that I had previously.

I've been a big user of motorola phones. You get a great phone without the high price from the other big box phones. The edge is super fast and to work with. Every day I learn different things about this phone. The edge takes a little bit getting used to. The edges of this phone is super sensitive. I like it.

There's much more improvement on the battery life of this phone, with an impressive back camera of 64mp which enable you to take clear and unique photos. If you are looking for a phone with larger storage for lower price I think this might be of great choice. Above all it very easy to use, it has shortcuts display on the screen which enable faster access to information on the phone.

So far I really like this phone. One thing I don't like is how you have to clear pages and get to home. Going from page to page is a pain. And if you are doing something from the edge of the screen it sometimes wants to make you get out of the page as a back button. I'm sure in the settings you can fix that. At first it updated so much it got on my nerves. But it finally got updated enough it stopped doing it so often. I love how bright the screen is especially if you play games. The battery seems to last an okay amount of time. Not great. But that could be because I have my screen up all the way bright. Most people don't. I'm kinda blind and like to see. Overall it's a great everyday phone. I don't think it's worth the price. That's overrated. I think phone prices are getting out of hand. The only reason I chose this phone over others is because I wanted the screen colors to be vivid. Honestly I kinda miss my TCL because it was easier to use and had the same vivid screen.

This is the 2nd Edge I've purchased from Bestbuy, being that my initial purchase suffered from screen issues and no camera focus.
So okay, figured I'd give it another shot. After a few days my 2nd Edge started to also develop a green tint on dark/grey backgrounds just like the iPhone 12, OnePlus 8, and S20 series. I only use dark mode in apps, so it's noticeable for me. On white you won't see it easily. Light themes are awful for OLED screens, and it's harder for me to read on white backgrounds.
Anyway, it took a few days for this Edge to turn greenish. However that's not the only issue with the phone. I'll use a list to save you all time.
- Headphone jack has low output power (same issue as Moto G line): IEMs like KZ or Moondrops need 50%+ vol for a tolerable listening experience. Other phones need fewer vol steps and have higher peak volume
- Updates: Moto is sooo slow. No idea if they plan to release A11 before 2021. And we only get A11, despite the phone retailing at 699. What a joke!!
- Refresh rate issues: You can't pick Hz per app, which would make the most sense (there's no VRR obviously)
- Selfie cam: Underwhelming quality for the price. Even my Galaxy S8 does better
- Edge lights: Feature rarely works
- 5G SA for T-Mobile: Motorola isn't bringing this feature to T-Mobile users. What a lazy company. Even OnePlus already has it on the OP8
- Price: The launch price was wayyy too high. This was a $449 phone to begin with
- HDR10: There's no HDR/video enchantment setting, as you'd find on Samsung and I believe LG flagships
- Screen calibration: We can't change RGB values like Samsung nor LG
- RAM management: Phone likes to kick apps out of memory. Reminds a lot of my OnePlus 7 Pro in that regard
Pros:
- Beautiful display: The waterfall screen looks beyond cool. Not super bright, but it does have 190% sRGB. Min brightness is good
- Speed: The 765 is better than an 845, and is joined by fast UFS memory. I haven't seen any lag. It can play Pascal's Wagner, one of the most intensive games. Call of Duty Mobile plays fine
- Battery: 2-3 day battery for light users. Easily charging every 2 days or more. Over 9hrs of screentime, usually 10ish. 5G kills battery, so use 4G when not downloading big files
- VoLTE on T-Mobile and all 5G bands
- Bootloader unlock allowed
- 256GB base storage

I got my Edge about a month ago when it was first released. It has a nice camera, loud speakers and long battery life (about 2-3 days depending on usage). I had a Moto Z previously and the switch has been a little difficult because this is longer and slimmer, not great for putting in your pocket, but for the features and price it's a good buy.

Great phone. Mine has a slight problem with the screen, only visible on a black image or if you look super closely with the lowest brightness, where half of the screen appears a shade brighter than the other. Overall, not a huge issue, and very rarely will you notice this (if yours is like mine), just something I noticed.

So far so good with this phone doesn't sound as good as I'd hoped it said it has stereo speakers but it only has one and doesn't sound any better than my old phone but has a beautiful view screen. This was bought as a Christmas gift I then accidentally found out that it only had 14 days to be returned to Best buy from the date of purchase even if it wasn't opened or activated. Had I known that I would have bought it from Amazon for the exact same price Amazon gives you 30 days for unactivated phones provided the phone is defective damaged or the incorrect product. But if I wait till Christmas with my Best buy phone open it and it doesn't work properly I'm stuck going to Motorola with my problem Best buy won't stand behind it very disappointed in that policy. As for the phone I've read some reviews saying there's problems with the screen I've had none so far have not activated it yet but I've had it open and checked. So far it seems like so good thank God otherwise I'd be stuck. So next time I buy from somebody with a better return policy if it's a gift.

Pre-ordered the phone and RECEIVED it on the actual release day. Bestbuy was very efficient on that matter.
Screen is great. I liked that it is a little long but NOT WIDE. It displays images and web pages beautifully.
Software operation is smooth and no lags. I will monitor performance over time since phones usually "slows" down after a period of time.
5G works great. 260+ Mbps up, 70+ Mbps down in one location that I checked the speed.
I do not play games that require a lot of resources so no comments on that. But, I can tell you it does great with "Words with Friends" - letter tiles do pop up great :)
Camera is functional and takes decent pictures. I have a DSLR camera so phone image quality is not on top of my list. I do, however, how would like to check how the "Long Exposure" mode does.
Navigation. It works pretty decent with Android Auto (Google Maps and Waze)
Bluetooth Audio. Sound quality is a lot better when streaming music to my car compared to other phones that I owned in the past.
Handling. I am comfortable holding it with one hand. I am wary of putting it in my pocket due to it's length.
It is a fingerprint magnet. I am currently using the case included in the package - this, too attracts fingerprint.
Being $499, I jumped on it, of course, after reading multiple reviews and looking at specs. I may have to think a little bit more if it were it's full price of $699.
All in all, I am happy with the purchase and hope it lasts long. Sorry for those encountering screen issues. Hope Motorola stands by their product.

Upgraded from Moto G7, and love this new phone. Great screen, 5G is excellent (using Mint Mobile service). I think the 6GB Ram makes huge difference, as it is much snappier that previous phones I have had.
Hard to find a case though.

I have the Pixel 3XL and was looking for something slightly smaller like the Pixel 4a. I waited so long for it to release that I started looking elsewhere. I got an email promo sales from Motorola that the edge was coming out. I looked at the reviews but was still on the fence. It did not get high marks on the camera. I actually started with Motorola Droid series, then when Motorola and Google became Nexus, then jumped to Pixel family. While I loved the pure vanilla android feel, pixel phones became boring. Even Google admitted that building hardware is hard. Yes, the camera is great but I do not take pictures all day everyday. I do love the moto actions and Motorola still tries to make their android OS as vanilla as possible. Motorola has solid experiences in making phones since 1984. After having previous experiences with moto phones, I decided to take the plunge.
I'll start with the camera. I've had the phone since it was released. I took some pictures and now, I'm wondering what was all the so-so reviews about with the camera. In my opinion, this camera rocks and I really don't see what the complain is about. It's definitely very far from mediocre. The pictures are a bit on the warmer side and the OLED display is gorgeous. I took some pictures in the dark with and without night vision and they came out great. Moto Edge has tons more features and options for capturing and editing pictures and you won't be disappointed. It's also tightly integrated with Google photos so you can still get some AI software computation photography on the back end. Glad I took the plunge.
Now, the hardware itself is beautifully amazing. All photo are stored on google photos which I'm very happy with. Besides, you can still edit pictures in google photos so you still get some advantage of google's computational cloud-base photography. The OLED display just pops. This is my first time having edge display phone and it is really nice. Motorola has tons of customization for edge display and it's growing on me. Finally, no notch display. It was bugging me for almost 2 years the punch hole camera is the way to go. I really, really love the form factor and makes it so much easier for one-handed operation. You can even customize the edge to pretty much do everything on the screen without stretching your fingers [side apps, go back, open settings and quick shortcuts, apps - all with just edge operation]. The cover that came with it is so so and I've ordered two cases and a 9H tempered glass in the UK as this phone was released there earlier. Accessories are finally popping up on amazon. I also saw reviews about the slowness of the fingerprint sensor, but it takes me about 1 second or less to log in using my fingerprint. I don't know how faster you want but it's perfect for me and face unlock is also an option. In fact, according to android central, Motorola has the best Android software that no one talks about - It's basically like a Pixel, only better. I am 100% in agreement with this statement. Check out the review for the Moto Edge https://www.androidcentral.com/motorola-has-best-android-software-no-one-talks-about

Great phone for the price when it's on sale. I have t-mobile and the 5g works but I read somewhere that on Verizon it wouldn't go past LTE.
