Cons: This Android version for Moto Edge is not a great user friendly. User doesn't have a go back option in most of the screen for apps. need to entirely close. Pros: Phone charges very quickly and battery life is almost a day for normal usage.

The Motorola Edge 5G is a solid flagship-lite phone with 5G capability, a decent screen, and solid performance... when it works. Purchased 2 of these phones, one for me, and one for my wife. Mine to this point is still going strong. My wife has not had as good of luck. The first one started having display issues common to the Motorola Edge Plus a week in. We swapped it and gave another shot. Two weeks in the replacement phone also started having the same display issue. After seeing there was the same issue with the phone this is based off of three months prior, it's rather disappointing to see the issue crop up with this model. 2 of 3 phones broken is not a track record I would trust. Until the display issues (found by googling 'Motorola Edge Display Issue') are resolved, I'd recommend staying far away.

Powerful phone, but incompatible with Verizon

Beautiful, powerful phone, but apparently does not work well with major carriers Verizon and T-Mobile. I bought an unlocked Motorola Edge 5G Solar Black phone from Best Buy, who could not tell me for sure if it would work with my carrier Verizon. When I went to Verizon, they said they would need to try putting in a 5G sim card and activating it to see if it would work. It did, except I could not receive text messages on Verizon's network!!! After try to troubleshoot with Verizon for several days, I gave up and went to Spectrum to switch networks. Spectrum told me the phone would not work on their network. Then I switch to T-Mobile, which works decently well with this phone, but still have a few network issues here and there. Not sure if it's the phone or T-Mobile at this point. Too bad the major carriers and major tech companies don't always play well together. For that reason, I cannot recommend buying this phone unlocked from Best Buy.

I'm hoping Motorola works out the bugs. My last phone was a Motorola and I was sold on them after that. Samsung makes pretty phones that crack if you give them a hard stare -- if you drop one-- forget about it. So far 5g on T-Mobile has been less than stellar but they are still the best by far. That is all the negative/neutral stuff. Imagine how good this phone is that I still gave it 4 stars. Smooth, solid, and great screen. Overall it was a great deal at the intro price.

First phone had a lot of screen issues. Short time running and sides of screen would shadow and show colors of green and beige and yellow.Kept getting worse so I returned it and took a chance with another one.Glad I did..date on box was 10/20/2020.Hopefully Motorola fixed there screen issues and this one will last a long time.Great phone for the cost and I have my fingers crossed..

I've had the phone for three weeks. No issues with the phone at this point. Pros: great camera function, excellent sound quality & volume, responsive, form factor, sharp display even in Florida sunshine, and a good value. Cons: fast charger wall wort was DOA (Mot warranty service was quick and friendly, BB was helpless and useless), finding a screen shield is illusive, protective case prevents the use of a standard 3.5mm audio plug.

This phone is a monster for price, however, the screen has issues. After a month or so, the screen started having some major "ghosting" issues. It changes colors and looks as though it has screen burn-in. After searching for resolutions for this problem, I came across numerous reports of the same issue. Not a happy camper. I'll reach out for warranty replacement, but I'm sure I'll just get a refurbished phone in return. I do not recommend this phone in it's current state to anyone.

This replaced my Pixel 4. For the money it’s very good. I like the fingerprint sensor better than the facial recognition, and I like the option of either one. The screen has to be unlocked before Android Auto loads in the car. It seems to get better cell phone reception than the Pixel. We’ll see how it does in northern WI - the Pixel often showed no signal when other phones, both Android and iPhone.

I have been a fan of Moto for the last 10 years, but after purchasing Moto EDGE not anymore. I purchased in August and in less than two months in I've noticed dead pixels on my phone. Screen display behaving very bad I have NEVER had an issue like this in all my years of phone ownership. Cameras are not good in terms of clarity, photos look more artificial than real. Like many other buyers, this model has pretty bad screen issues, I am having the same.

I bought this phone on launch day. The screen is amazing. The memory is plentiful, adding to the value. The processor is amazing fast for its price. However! The #1 flaw on this phone is the battery. It would get very hot when charging and just in your pocket in general. This leads to a bigger problem - battery failure. The phone warped in shape after a few months of use due to the quick charge technology. Lesson learned - don't quick charge this phone or any phone with this feature. It will ruin and degrade your phone's battery faster. Use a lower voltage charger if you tend to charge your phone overnight. A disappointing feature that needs a lot more improvement and long term testing. Buyer beware.
